I went to a bunch of lego summer camps and homeschool groups as a kid. There were plenty of girls there and not a single one of them played with Lego friends, just regular lego.

Personally I find the Jabba's palace argument to be kind of dumb. If you had a problem with it you should have taken it up with Lucasfilm. Lego is just producing sets based off Return of the Jedi, it's not as though they were basing it off of any religious structures.
So many people review legos from the adult perspective, getting super angry if such or such a detail doesnt match the film. Those are TOYS. And as much as we all love to collect them and build MOCS, we should never forget that (except for collector series) lego sets were made for KIDS, not for adults, and not for youtubers. I can sort of see the point of the Mixels one, but I think LEGO made a good quick fix for it. The one I mostly agree with though is the Assault on Hoth set. It's actually a decent and cool set, but I also think it feels more like a large play set than an Ultimate Collector's set, and it probably shouldn't have been labelled as such. It's also pretty weird to have a huge Hoth/Echo base set and _not_ include Princess Leia.

You have to remember that Lego owns anything you submit to ideas. What you didn't read the terms of service? You should always read the TOS. It doesn't matter they don't have to credit you - even if parts of your submission ended up in other sets. Dose that suck? Yes but you already agreed to give up your ownership of the submissions design.

The UCS or "Ultimate Collectors Series" are supposed to be extremely detailed sets specifically for adults. They're meant to be put on display, which is why the Hoth set got so much hate. It claimed to be a UCS set, but it's clear that it was a playset. Take a look at the other UCS sets. Note the level of detail, the lack of gimmicky play features. Sometimes you can call yourself lucky if there's even a minifig included.
Basically LEGO called the set a UCS (Ultimate Collectors Series) set and there were many play features in the set rather than what would satisfy UCS collectors
I got the set a few years back. It is a good-ish set, but people hated on it because it was called UCS, which is supposed to be ultra accurate. There were a few discrepancies, like the 3 instead of 4 dishes on the shield generator. I think that if the set was called a normal playset and not Ultimate Collector's Series, people would have liked it more. I hope this answers your question.

In Canada my tv says pg is 8+ here’s some other bad movies lego has used: Jurassic park- muldoons face gets eaten by a raptor, Star Wars- the Death Star blows up planets, marvel- Loki drills a guys eye out! DC Batman’s parents were murdered. But having something about a chubby, balding middle aged man who loves doughnuts is terrible!
The reason most people want rare characters is to sell them. If only 500 of them were ever made, they are very rare and could be sold at a very high prices. Some people enjoy collecting things, so getting a rare figure for them is quite nice, but not all people are collectors.

It comes down to the fact that people too young to watch the Simpsons would have their LEGO sets bought by their parents anyway, so the parents can control whether their kids get Simpsons LEGO. The Simpsons is rather adult when compared to LEGO, but I think it fits well enough. I was watching the Simpsons at a pretty young age, I'll admit.
The Lego ucs hoth is actually one of my favorite sets I own. It has amazing play ability and comes with unique Minifigures for a 2015 set. I'm sad it got so much hate.

I don't really have any problems with the Lego Friends series. I would have loved to have had them when I was younger. There's nothing wrong with Lego making toys for girls who like "girly" stuff. It doesn't mean that girls can only play with those sets. In fact, they remind me of the old Polly Pocket toys, the ones that could actually fit in your pocket. They had a similar design to the Lego Friends.
I personally hate the way the minifigures look as they aren't compatible with most other lego sets (they are too tall to be spesific). I'm also not really a fan of th colour palet chosen. However I don't care if people like them, boys or girls, each one likes their own thing. What is however a "problem" in my opinion is when parents or relatives will choose a lego friends set for the girls in the family over a normal one because "it's for girls".
Honestly, the comic con exclusive ones are fine if it's a different version of pre existing minifigures, like the platinum or gold ones, or like batman in a different suit than usual. My problem comes from when they're literally in no other sets, this is the only time to get that character, not just the specific costume.

Things that are stereotypical about LEGO friends: 1. There’s a ton of pink 2. In the cooking competition set a boy was shown to be a bad messy cook, while a girl was a good cook who was winning 3. Each female character has long hair (no hair the standard male LEGO friends character has) 4. It teaches girls they have to be certain things (doctor, teacher, vet, chef, store clerk, hairdresser, etc.) but nothing like a soldier, construction worker, or firefighter
All that said makes you really wonder why it sold so well. Oh yeah, it's because basically everything you said is absolute nonsense. Feel free to let me know if you don't see how it's nonsense; I'd be happy to let you know.

I remember when I was a kid that Shell gas stations were selling these mini Lego sets featuring various vehicles. My parents managed to get me all 12 of them when we drove from Texas to Illinois to visit my grandparents for Christmas.

Complaining about a set being similar to a custom set... based off of something from a movie. Serious, complaining about that?! You are using LEGO's toys to make that building, and of course it's going to have similarities. They are both using LEGO to remake a firehouse from a movie.
Personally I find the Jabba's palace argument to be kind of dumb. If you had a problem with it you should have taken it up with Lucasfilm. Lego is just producing sets based off Return of the Jedi, it's not as though they were basing it off of any religious structures.

Most of the others are pretty dumb too, especially when they're pursuing LEGO for the "mistakes" of other companies. I can sort of see the point of the Mixels one, but I think LEGO made a good quick fix for it. The one I mostly agree with though is the Assault on Hoth set. It's actually a decent and cool set, but I also think it feels more like a large play set than an Ultimate Collector's set, and it probably shouldn't have been labelled as such. It's also pretty weird to have a huge Hoth/Echo base set and _not_ include Princess Leia.
Honestly, I find Simpsons better than Family guy... at least Homer treats his daughter with Respect...

I'm not entirely sure what kind of point you were trying to make but, Legos are made of plastic. Plastic causes just as big of a pollution problem worldwide--if not more--as most other pollution sources. That was the point of his comment.
Lego announced that they will stop producing plastic toys in 2030. Hopefully, they re-release the SpongeBob theme before that.
You have to remember that Lego owns anything you submit to ideas. What you didn't read the terms of service? You should always read the TOS. It doesn't matter they don't have to credit you - even if parts of your submission ended up in other sets. Dose that suck? Yes but you already agreed to give up your ownership of the submissions design.

It’s UCS, the ones for adult collectors.
The UCS or "Ultimate Collectors Series" are supposed to be extremely detailed sets specifically for adults. They're meant to be put on display, which is why the Hoth set got so much hate. It claimed to be a UCS set, but it's clear that it was a playset.
Take a look at the other UCS sets. Note the level of detail, the lack of gimmicky play features. Sometimes you can call yourself lucky if there's even a minifig included.

The ion cannon is missing back plating. It's just a bunch of differently colored bricks. Other than that, it's pretty good.
Basically LEGO called the set a UCS (Ultimate Collectors Series) set and there were many play features in the set rather than what would satisfy UCS collectors
I got the set a few years back. It is a good-ish set, but people hated on it because it was called UCS, which is supposed to be ultra accurate. There were a few discrepancies, like the 3 instead of 4 dishes on the shield generator. I think that if the set was called a normal playset and not Ultimate Collector's Series, people would have liked it more. I hope this answers your question.

The reason most people want rare characters is to sell them. If only 500 of them were ever made, they are very rare and could be sold at a very high prices. Some people enjoy collecting things, so getting a rare figure for them is quite nice, but not all people are collectors.

The Lego ucs hoth is actually one of my favorite sets I own. It has amazing play ability and comes with unique Minifigures for a 2015 set. I'm sad it got so much hate.

I don't really have any problems with the Lego Friends series. I would have loved to have had them when I was younger. There's nothing wrong with Lego making toys for girls who like "girly" stuff. It doesn't mean that girls can only play with those sets. In fact, they remind me of the old Polly Pocket toys, the ones that could actually fit in your pocket. They had a similar design to the Lego Friends.
I personally hate the way the minifigures look as they aren't compatible with most other lego sets (they are too tall to be spesific). I'm also not really a fan of th colour palet chosen. However I don't care if people like them, boys or girls, each one likes their own thing.
What is however a "problem" in my opinion is when parents or relatives will choose a lego friends set for the girls in the family over a normal one because "it's for girls".

Honestly, the comic con exclusive ones are fine if it's a different version of pre existing minifigures, like the platinum or gold ones, or like batman in a different suit than usual. My problem comes from when they're literally in no other sets, this is the only time to get that character, not just the specific costume.

Things that are stereotypical about LEGO friends:
1. There’s a ton of pink
2. In the cooking competition set a boy was shown to be a bad messy cook, while a girl was a good cook who was winning
3. Each female character has long hair (no hair the standard male LEGO friends character has)
4. It teaches girls they have to be certain things (doctor, teacher, vet, chef, store clerk, hairdresser, etc.) but nothing like a soldier, construction worker, or firefighter
