In this video I am bringing to you an overview / review of the AEG Top of the line washer/dryer available for 2023/2024, model number L9WBAN61BC.
I go through the drawbacks, the noise it makes during washing, spinning, drying and all it’s programs and the smart app!

Nice review. Thanks for doing it. I suspect that this machine may be faulty because that compressor should NOT be that noisy. I'm quite sure that's a fault. A commenter on another video about an older version said that the compressor in theirs was missing a stabilizer. And I've seen another video of an older version of one of these running the drying cycle with no obvious compressor noise at all. If this unit were not faulty then the noise would be a bit of a deal breaker for me all other things considered. It's not the case that a compressor has to be noisy. It's possible to make a compressor virtually silent and I'm not sure whether there are any heat pump dryers that are quiet enough to call silent but there are certainly other products with virtually silent refrigerant compressors. So considering the price the noise would be poor. And it is abnormally noisy compared to a refrigerator say. I have no in person experience with heart pump dryers to compare but from what I've seen on RUclips this machine is faulty for sure
I’ve seen a few videos of this model and most made similar noise. I can confirm the Miele combo does not make noise at all!
@@TechBlogPool oh nice! I'm glad you've got something better now. Maybe there was a design and or manufacturing and or component fault that occurred with a lot of these and for whatever reason wasn't picked up on... This would make sense to me... It happens occasionally
I have exact same machine no issues. And noise what it makes is not that loud. If creator of this video would know heat pump technology he would not complain about the noise. It's basically fridge into washer. Compressor makes noise it's normal. I'm very happy with this machine. It's super energy efficient. No issues at all and they don't die because of lint building up. It is not true. There's easy solutions for that and regular cleaning after every use. And no issues. Very picky person is filming this video.
Hi Ivo. Of course you do not have issues at the moment. But the issues will come eventually. The noise level is high. If it annoys you or not is a different matter. I have switched to another brand and can see how quiet heat pumps can be and the AEG version unfortunately is not done well. I’ve talked to other owners of it and they have had AEG service men and the service itself is well aware of the issue and they even install replacement parts which quiet down the machine. All depends on preferences in the end. If you have a separate room that is well dampened, none of this may be an issue to you. But should you have the appliance close to living space or have thin walls and wish to use the machine at night, this can become a problem. At the end of the day, if you are happy with it, I’m happy for you. My experience was that right after my purchase I got a call from AEG advising me to get a 5 year warranty extension as this model they unfortunately have reported issues with. I think that speaks for itself.

Nope, definitely stay away from AEG/Electrolux. They’re designed to fail. The only option now is actually Miele. WTR 870 WPM
Thats a shame! I was happy to find a combo machine with a thermo pump... Isn't Miele then much worse since it does not use a pump? Also I guess the cheaper Miele washer dryer combo WTD160WCS would aslo be fine because as far as I know the difference is only in yhe washer and there is no difference in the dryer part.
@@dimitarcoffee8407All Mieles are heat pump based. The cheap one doesn’t have steam. I think steam is now really a basic function you want. The difference between how it leaves clothes wrinkle free is near magical.
The service manual for Electrolux/AEG heat pump washer dryers is the stuff of nightmares. There is some much stuff squished into a small footprint. A typical old-school hydro condenser washer dryer is a compromise at best, but these are next level badness. Ironically Electrolux source the compressors in these machines from Panasonic - a company that has pulled out of selling Laundry machines in Europe but has at least 2 decades of experience in producing compact Heat Pump Washer Dryers in Japan - they are missing out on a trick!
Thats a shame! I was happy to find a combo machine with a thermo pump... I was thinking of buying Miele but it has no pump so I was about to buy AEG 9000 series... Isn't the thermo pump supposed to be much better? :/
@@dimitarcoffee8407 It is more energy efficient, but that results in long drying times (which are never great with a Washer Dryer combo to start with), plus the extra filter maintenance - that won't prevent build up on the heat exchanger fins anyway in the long term. You would be playing close to Miele money for a AEG 9000 series, so you might as well get a Miele, the AEG is after all is just a Zanussi in a dress ;-)
@danielnesbitt9565 I did get the Miele. The price was unfortunately not close. It was almost double. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I have to say the Miele is on a different level workmanship and finish wise. Extremely quiet and robust.
@@danielnesbitt9565oh i misunderstood then - thought the pump is faster to dry. Ok so pump is slower to dry and has the build up issue long term but is more energy efficient and I heard is gentler on the fabrics. I am OK with paying more for electricity with Miele but I just can't go over the idea that with Miele I get the "old" technology and not the new pump one which everyone says is better (even though apparently not sure why it's better xD) I am so torn - I have everything in the apartment ordered except for the washing machine xD
Can you let me know what are the pros and cons of the Miele one compared to the AEG? I would be forever grateful
@@TechBlogPool there is a second Miele 2in1 which is cheaper that the one you mentioned - about the same proce as AEG 9000. It is
WTD160WCS. I was told there is no difference in the dryer part but only in the washing.

@kestass.4197 Unfortunately this is how it is and it plagues all AEG/Electrolux combo washer/driers. I don’t think this will get resolved until an entirely different filter pathway system is introduced.
