  • Replacing the rotor and hub (one piece that includes the wheel bearing). Also replaced the spindle, because the wheel bearing destroyed the spindle on a 2008 Ford F150 2wd.

How can the ball joints not spin on you while tightening it with a socket? Small socket to hold the bolt and wrench to turn the bolt.

Was the place you got it from (WholeSale Parts Express) out of Fort Lauderdale Florida.

How were the ball joints n control arms? My 06 Lariat 2 WD front spindles themselves were ok. Not to bad to remove rotors. Little high temp bearing grease on the spindles and center of rotor. I had very lightly sanded
The area where bearing rides with real
fine sand paper before greasing. Rotor slightly snug. No play. Thankful for that. I saw where you had that bearing stuck on and had to use lots of elbow grease so to speak. To get it off and replace the spindle. My issues were rotors ridging and little shake on hard braking. Discovered one caliper had a piston chipped. My rotors werent able to be turned and meet legal specs. So i replaced both rotors with Napa premium coated rotors and new spindle locking threaded nuts. Torqued to 295 foot lbs. Went ahead and replaced both front calipers with Napa premium floating coated calipers. New Napa premium silentguard semi metallic pads as well with new hardware. Applied anti seize to pad backs and threadlocker blue to all bolts. Bled all 4 calipers and capped off master cylinder. Shake upon hard braking gone now and increased braking response. Braking grunted a little for first 20 miles or so. Seems to be gone now. Good video .

Just did the same job on my 08 f150.
However, the rotor/hub assembly would not turn very freely after being torqued down. The passenger side rotated perfectly free as yours did in the video.
Any ideas why my driver side will barely spin once the axle nut is torqued to 300ft lbs? Both sides were tested without brakes installed.
I did use a torque wrench. Not an impact.

Pretty sure the actual spec is 296 but not sure if torquing it to 300 would cause problems like that

@@Nunya-_- nah it ended up being a bad wheel bearing out of the box… thanks acdelco😂 new rotor/bearing installed and spins freely.

For the bearing hub, did you use a 4wd hub? Looks kinda like the 4wd hub. Can't find any for 2wd so wondering I'd the 4wd hub assembly would work

The spindle was hard to find, the rotor hub assembly you should be able to find at the auto parts store

I am looking at an F150 that was wrecked and broke the front spindle and upper control arm. It’s been repaired with all OEM parts. How big of a deal is that ?

Not a lot of info in this video. A LOT of important topics skipped over. What about the bearing installation? What about the ball joint installation, the ball joint press, the ball joint torque, what spindle grease did you use, how did you actually get the brake pads back on?
