TL-122 was the original model, as used during WW2; the MX-991/U is the improved version that, iirc, debuted during the Vietnam conflict. Yours is a copy of the MX,as the TL did had switch guard fences or the "frame" to swap out lenses. The copy/clone ones have also the TL marking.
And where that plastic threads into each other on the knock off, it absolutely will crack from the outwards stresses. I have used superglue to reinforce my cheap Chinese version.
i got 2 American made angled head flash light a gi price and fulton both were made in the u.s iv seen some of the chines made ones like the text sport and rohco ones they look good don't mean they work good like the American made ones
I had my Chinese flashlight break where the battery bumps the top contact plastic breaks at he the contact point because of the spring tension if you leave the battery in a long time.
