    Love these. As let’s be honest, not everyone has hundreds of $/£ lying around for full workshops. Keep at it 👌💪

    Tremendously helpful, thank you! I also see you use smoke a lot inside, Curious, does the gym not have smoke alarms, are they disabled for the photo session or does the inert smoke have no effect on them?

      Use quick dissipating fluid. Gone in 60s.
      Never had issues with it. www.amazon.com/shop/jaisonsterling?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsfshop_EH1C8EYQG3BXBTX3B2FV

    Superb 👌 Is this achievable with continuous lighting? I have a 200watt continuous light.

      Should be able to. Just be sure to use directional modifiers to avoid light spill.

      @@rocktownmedia Thank you :) Im just concerned my lights will not be powerful enough. I am hiring a hall soon and will experiment. :)

    Awesome. What focus modes do you use?

      Typically AF-C on single shot, small box focus grouping with eye detection, for my sports portraits.

    So you’re not using a high shutter speed to darken the ambient but rather using a much lower ISO?

      Good idea…he is at this camera’s max sync speed for flash (1/125”). Not sure if high speed sync is an option here to let him push shutter speed further. Then have to deal with strobe power loss and slower recycle times. There are usually many ways to get dark enough starting exposure…just have to make tradeoff choices.

      No need for a fast shutter speed. Low iso and a stopped down aperture get the same look without using high speed sync. HSS will drain batteries, quick. I do use HSS when the action is fast enough to require it.

    Flash power?

    • @rocktownmedia
      @rocktownmedia  18 дней назад +1

      @@richodphoto flash power can vary, a lot, depending on the wattage, modifiers and distance to subject.
      Get your camera settings right to achieve the desired background look then add in the flashes and adjust power accordingly.
