"SCRAP TOGETHER SOMETHIN'... 😉 ...TOO MAKE IT WORK"... "PERFECT !!" - As you said at (1:54) I also piece together crawler's, when possible, it makes it so much more interesting and challenging !! Right now, I am rebuilding my GMADE (GS02F) which has an Axial SCX10 II (rear axle only) brand new TRX4 shocks, and a special (very custom) & lengthy suspension, when it comes to how much "droop" my truck has !!! It can reach down in a hole with (any), one tire, - about 6" !!! It's insane !!!! - Totally out-does my stock set-up !!! 😯 With 60mm of clearance under the belly, when traveling, and a 1/2" of down travel in the rear, plus 3/4" in the front. Those new shocks will extend to allow my truck to flex 5" !! Since the GS02F comes with (standard overdrive) in the transmission, that already gives me 14.29% O.D., and with the lower gearing of the SCX10 II rear axle, I end-up "doubling" my O.D., without buying any other diff.-gears !!!! - So I should be around 30% to 33% O. D. Mixing axles, I think is one of the biggest benefits in this crawler segment !! It can give you a huge advantage, like you and I have both done !!! 😀 - Now ya make me want an Element GateKeeper !!! 😉 But, I will leave this interesting venture to you ! - I am SOOO lookin' forward to finishing the work on this truck !! Cannot wait !!!!! I really appreciate the narrated videos you have done, "especially" this one !!!👍 - Thankyou for passing-on encouraging options, in this RC World !!! 🤘😎👌🇺🇲
I have my gatekeeper with Capra axles. But I use bomber trailing arms. Don’t need to change any link lengths and without a sway bar. Doesn’t torque twist. It’s definitely a fun truck.
Got a video request if your open to ideas, I know I would like to see your experiments and detail on the suspension of the gatekeeper/ ecto. I have full droop but I'm wondering if a longer travel shock laid at more of an angle in the rear would help. I found lead sticky weights on the axle housing help keep the front down (small bungies keep it droop to). Just curious what you think the limits are of the chassis
Ha man that's so fun to see. I have been running a gatekeeper and I feel like it has more moments where wheel speed gets me out of a jam than with my buddies scx II or g speed rigs. Its a fun vehicle and built like a tank in a lot of ways . The cage weighs quite a bit more than a lexan body but has absorbed more than it's share of abuse. 35 to 40' tumbles are just a bit much even for a tank like the gatekeeper though! Keep it up man, watching you call the lines is like watching Joe Rogan call a UFC match. I have learned a lot!.
Great video like always, enjoy your content and learn a lot from you. Do you know of a source that sells complete capra axles, I've seen the ar45 straight on axial's site, but can't find complete capra's anywhere. any information would be appreciated as I'm about to do my first ground up build using the Gspeed v3 rails. Thank you.
What’s up Logan? You should get few patches made so I can buy one to on my pack a long with high noon one I just got!!!! Love this new build I need pic up a gate keeper kit
Love the width of the Capra axles, but I think its hurting your CG. Its always a trade off. Sometimes the portals help, sometimes they hurt. Love the build though.
Just got done building my first gatekeeper myself. Still has the stock axles though but I agree I love the Cabra axles. I have them on three different vehicles right now including a Capra. I think your gatekeeper would be an awesome candidate to try the Cabra front axle with the 10iii rear axle and see what you think. I’m betting with the longer wheelbase it will help it turn tighter.
Woohoo! I just got a Gatekeeper. The four link you put in the front is that from the Capra along with the axle and SOA or are they from an SCX10? I hope I dont break anything but its going to happen eventually. I would like to have the info before it happens. I need to find a way to make it squat lower too. It sets really high for its size, very top heavy. I found that out today crawling some really steep and slick rocks near me. Any suggestions?
That Amazon belt drive works amazing and has the perfect gearing you need for that set up . I ran it with the same set up . And was running a 1800 revolver . Definitely recommend and it’s pretty neat to have a belt drive . Just don’t make the belt super tight , and it’s very reliable. Ran my truck hard with it on trail runs and comps
Awesome one Logan!! I look forward to watching this build progress and see what innovations you come up with! Also... I think I know that 3d printed foams kid 😂😂🤘🏼
Are the capra axles a bolt on? Or do i need extra parts. Id like to get straight axles the same width as capra axles, i live in florida, theres no rocks...so portals arent necessary lol. Are scx10.2 axles similar width? Completely new to crawlers. Ive had arrma 3s-6s vehicles and other bashers. Im planning to build a quicker gatekeeper. Wider, lower, and maybe 25-30mph. Just to take on some walking trails and MTB trails with my pup. My arrmas are a bit too much on those tight trail, and i would like to do some mild crawling when i can.
You rock, bro! Keep it up! Thanks for being here.
Now I know what I'm doing with my gatekeeper! Thanks!
I did the same sort of thing but with ar60’s and 2.2’s! Super fun truck and crawls very well

More info on this would be cool, looking to get rid of torque twist without portals
Finally getting some crawling weather in Illinois. Can't wait to bust the rigs off the shelf
Full time RUclips! If thats a recent change, Congrats! Hope to see even more content
I like this build. I do not have any Element rigs in my fleet, might have to get one!!!👍👍👍
Definitely worth trying element has some good features
Logan, I'd love to hear your experience with a rear axle upper link riser, I'll bet I'd learn a lot listening to you drive it!
Great video. I love my Gatekeeper.
Thanks for the daily crawl fix🐘...i needed it👍

Such a great idea. I have a stock Gatekeeper...the narrow axles and high cg..Drive me crazy.

Love the performance of this buggy. I’m building a Capra axle bomber. Gonna see it it comes close to what this Capra can do
I’ve cage swapped a bomber onto an entire Capra drivetrain and skid. Super fun cars. You’ll like it
Good morning from England LOGON. Another great video SIR
90% of what you do is crawling try 90% droop on your rigs will help out so much with inner springs under the pistion and little on on top for bump
Youve got that set up nice
Thanks, there are changes to be made but I’ve built a few before so experience has helped
Do you think an bomber cage with Capra axels would do good ?????
For the looks? I'd like IFS :D
Just for the looks, i like Gatekeeeper with IFS, sure its poor performance but it looks good
Yeah dude!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and a 3s brushless system from an arrma granite I don't use. And replace things as they break. Lol I believe it's a 3650, 4000kv. Small pinion
Watch them 40-ft drop slogan.
Where did you get the Capra Axles? Are they plastic or metal?
Plastic Capra axles
@@westdesertwheeler nice… where did you get them? I’m trying to get me a set but all I see is metal…
How are you doing?? 😁
Can we see a night run video by chance??
When will we see more of the tf2
