- In recognition of the 15th anniversary of the closing of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera attraction at Universal Studios Florida (which will take place this October), I present to you this tribute featuring the complete pre-show and ride portions. Enjoy!
No one is even talking about how much of a grand dad vibe Joe Barbera and William Hanna have to Elroy.
They ARE his creators, after all.
@@Angie2343 I think you mean “were his creators”
The space age residence is George Jetson.
Rest In Peace, Willam Hanna & Joseph Barbera.
Great video!
@@Bucky749
Exactly
Hanna-Barbera made some good cartoons including The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Scooby-Doo, I.M. Weasel, Johnny Bravo, The Flintstones, Daisy-Head Mayzie (based on the book of the same name by Dr. Seuss), Pirates of Dark Water, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Star Fairies and Samurai Jack
I wonder if heaven for them is being characters in their cartoons.
Agree.
You said it.
I love Joe's little "Exit, Stage Left" motion he does when he says "Wait for me!" A little tribute to Snagglepuss!
Bowmaj 86 Me 2
Now he's in Heaven with Will.
And now Dastardly and Muttley will be the main antagonists of the next theatrical Scooby movie. It took them over 15 years, but they finally got what they wanted.
I can’t wait as I love Scooby and Dick Dastardly and Muttley!
30 years actually...
and after seeing what I saw in the film, i now want them to get their own movie
Yep, they were easily the best part.
@@ScoobyDoolover99 What if, Dick Dastardly appears in "SCOOB!"?
This is the Hanna-Barbera I remember. All the characters exist in the same universe and know each other. There was no making fun of Scrappy Doo, or putting down their less popular shows. This ride is sad, because it was released after many of their main voice actors had past, or were retired. This really was the end of the Hanna-Barbera era. Warners has done nothing to keep this cartoon stars shining even a fraction as bight as they once did.
The characters of Nintendo and SEGA know each other too.
Jellystone seems to be the closest thing to that.
With scariest movie like horror films. 5:47
You’re not wrong. Warner Bros. really has done nothing but keep making Scooby Doo videos because Cartoon Network made tons of money with Scooby Doo.
Well they DID revive the concept of a “Hanna Barbera same universe” with the film Scoob! from 2020, and Jellystone on HBO Max
I don't know if they did it all the time, but I'll never forget waiting for this ride to begin when one of the ride attendants said something like "Remember to hold on tight as Yogi is not our best pilot!" Little touches like that make me really sentimental about this ride!
I remember that too.
Oh gosh, I remember.
I'd say something similar.
@@Angie2343 Me too.
@@YuukiTakemoto1996 Nor just the usual "please remain seated, etc." lines, but something a bi more apropos to the situation.
RIP William Hanna and Joe Barbera. 😢
Picture this:
A VR game where you can somewhat experience closed rides from amusement parks as best as possible, maybe with a more specialized machine at arcades or the parks themselves to account for the 4D. (Hanna Barbera, Jimmy Neutron, back to the future, almost limitless possibilities).
Hey, a guy can dream can’t he?
I bet if you won the lottery, you should open a VR arcade where that is part of the attractions listed there. I would be your first customer.
@@MegaThurstonator even after the lottery, I doubt I would have the money to do something like that after Uncle Sam gets his cut. (And this is assuming I would even get the licensing).
@@MegaThurstonator apparently Defunctland had a similar idea:

If I had any programming skills and/or skills in 3d graphics, I would not hesitate to help with any other rides that he is working on.
R.I.P William Hanna and Joseph Barbera
No hand and barbers owne by Warner bros no universal studios
What does that means?
@@milesbrooks1009 What about Warner Animation Group?
Wish there was a proper print of the film, the traditional animation is actually really good, and as a standalone short, it’s fun. Never got to ride this but I probably would’ve enjoyed it!
As do I. Sadly, there may never be a DVD version of this as a special feature for a DVD release, mainly because there may be some legal issues with Universal, and the Hannah-Barbara library is owned by Warner Bros.
@@jeremyriley1238 Never say never.
When this ride visited the Mall of America as “Yogi’s Big Rescue,” I went on it. Had no idea it was a former attraction at Universal Studios Orlando, and that after it was shut down in 2002, that it would begin popping up in theme parks all over North America. I was thankful I got to experience this attraction unofficially when I knew it as “Yogi’s Big Rescue.”
@@MegaThurstonator Cool!
I loved this ride so much when I was younger! Hanna Barbara was my childhood ❤️❤️
Who would remember the old Scooby-Doo better than modern days?
Thanks goodnessI I ride this Hanna-Barbera ride when I was 12-years-old in 2001 before it closed down in the next year of 2002.
Zed Logic ™ I was also born after the ride closed
Lucky For U
@CRToons Nicktoon Blast was way better too?
I wasn’t around for this ride, I would’ve loved to have experienced this ride
Wow, I never knew Hanna Barbera had ride attraction. And it was pretty Awesome.
It could be better than Nicktoons and Minions?
@@brianodonnell4496 They a new Cartoon Network ride on Warner Bros. Park
I've been in that ride when I was 14, and it was wonderful, just like _Back To The Future: The Ride_
Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
I got to ride this ride twice. Loved it!
Now if only Universal and Warner Bros. can make a compromise so they can release the ride video on a DVD release like Universal did with the Back To The Future ride.
Jeremy Riley
I’d love to see that actually.
Jeremy Riley Or maybe they should shut down the despicable me minion mayhem ride and replace it with a ride called cartoon classics to the rescue
List of cartoons
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Mr. Peabody‘s improbable history
Dudley do right of the Mounties
Underdog
The Alvin Show
Mr. Magoo
George of the jungle
The Flintstones
Roger ramjet
The Jetsons

In Tennessee, there’s a park called DollyWood. They added this ride in their 4-D Theater, and renamed it “Yogi’s Wild Ride”

I miss these 3D rides. The only time when waiting in line was worth it.
They still have 3D rides..
If only Hanna-Barbera cartoons was good as Nickelodeon today
Warner Bros. did with Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry, etc.
That's what you get if you put two old men in charge on a Computer.
On a side note. I adore Hanna Barbera as much as Disney.
me too and the Warner s cartoon
That ride used to be Yogi's Big Rescue at Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota,
since I was 12 years old from 2006 & 2007
I went on that too. Had no idea it was a ride at Universal Studios Orlando before.
Like go back to Mario Kart mode in Super Nintendo World.
They should reconstruct the show building and bring this ride back, albeit with less motion sickness.
RIP Will and Joe.
When a 4D ride does a better job at conveying a cinematic universe then a movie made 20 years later.
Seriously though, Warner Bros should've loosely based the movie off of this ride.
I went on that when I was 7 years old. There's some things that I remember about it but a lot that I don't remember as clearly as I thought I did back then. I've missed it so much.
I remember going on this ride. It's a good thing there are these videos of the ride. Too bad it doesn't feel like a ride now. I think this was the first time I ever saw Dick Dastardly and Muttley, but I didn't know as much about them as I do know. I rediscovered them on RUclips about a decade ago in the form of a parody series someone was doing. Although the casting for that parody had some of the characters be out of character so I was a bit surprised when I saw the original show and met the real Dastardly and Muttley for the first time since this ride. I was surprised my family knew about them when I mentioned them one time in a car ride. They were also surprised that I knew about them, too. It's great that to this date, Dastardly and Muttley are still remembered not only on the internet, but in real life, too.
That’s like me too! I remember watching the video of this ride back in 2011 not knowing who Dick Dastardly and Muttley were. Then in 2013 I found out who they were! I love Dastardly so much!! To me, he’s a bad guy with a good, loving heart! He’s sweet, kind, caring, handsome, hot, dashing, debonair, despicable, dishonest, devious, devilish, and of course dastardly!
It's a shame Tom and Jerry wasn't included in this ride or even mentioned Tom and Jerry is where it all started with Hanna-Barbara I belive they lost their rights to the characters to MGM and now Warner bros owns Hanna Barbara.
Arnold Shortman Tom and Jerry were MGM characters who happened to be created by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. When MGM shut down their cartoon studio in 1957, Bill and Joe went on to found the Hanna-Barbera studio. It’s just coincidence that both the MGM library and H-B ended up under the corporate roof, first at Turner and then eventually Time Warner.
Miles Morales yes it was true
@Tatiana Otoya Álvarez What about the new movie of it?
Tom and jerry are Hanna Barbera characters but it's under Licensed by King Features Syndicate
@@ScroogeKamaziMD How about Warner Animation Group?
I did in Canada’s wonderland for years ago I miss cool rides
I've been watching "Wacky Races" on DVD. This would make a great DVD extra on a bonus disc.
David Thomas True. Sadly, it may never happen since Warner Bros. owns anything H-B related, and this was done with Universal, who at the time, was making Jetsons: The Movie.
After ready your reply, another thought came to me. If Universal owns this ride footage and "Jetsons the Movie" maybe they could put it on a future DVD/Blu-ray of that film as a extra. After all, they did this with "Back to the Future".
David Thomas I think it could be possible.
Right?

OMG THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH GeekUniversalStudios!!!!!!! I Love This Ride SOOOO much (from looking at the videos at least. I don't really remember going on it when i was a kid) Now i can finally fully experience 90% of what the ride was like! Thank you! The only thing that is missing is the footage of Yogi and Boo-Boo during the pre-show when Dick Dastardly shows up! If you can find any footage of that portion, Please let me know where i can find it ASAP! Thanks Again! Our the Best!
That Disney-esque animation looks like something out of the 1995 Mickey Mouse Runaway Brain Short.
2:02 Elroy asserts his dominance.
He predicted T-posing…..
Now im curious is anyone coming here after watching Scoob movie and remember this existed
What about Dick Dastardly?
Daws Butler as the voice of Elroy Jetson and Yogi Bear.
RIP him as well
Fun fact: I think i read somewhere that Don Bluth's studio was involved in the making of this. ✨
too bad no one reminded Dasterdly that he got a spinoff back in the Wacky Races days
That's actually what his appearance in this ride is based off of, even the concept art you see earlier.
HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO TELL DASTARDLY? LIKE HE IS A CARTOON
All Hanna-Barbera's rights are owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment.
Yes. Before Warner, MCA, now Universal Pictures, originally was going to buy Hanna-Barbera.
I rather Universal purchase Hanna-Barbera since Warner nowadays care about money rather than their IPs.
Where the fuck was BIIIIIIIIIIIRDMAN? He was my favorite Hanna-Barbera cartoon character as a kid aside from Scooby-Doo and the gang, and had I known his show was made by HB back in the late 90s, I might have actually went on this in hopes of seeing him. But he's not there, so... and keep in mind I didn't care for HB besides Scooby... at least Scooby was in this!
Dick Dastardly is the all time villain of Hannah Barbara!!
William Hannah and Joseph Barbera were gods of cartoons.

wonder why they didn't call this boomerang the ride
