Remember during the week we didn't want to wake up early since we had to go to school , but when it came to Saturday Morning's back in the 60's we got up on our own ( with excitement as we sat down in front of tv with our favorite bowl of sugar sweet cereal as we were glued to the tube watching our favorite Superhero cartoons from 8:00 in the morning until about 1:00 in the afternoon . I truly miss those days of fun and adventure every Saturday morning . Compared to today , we no longer have any reason to get up early on Saturdays anymore . These kids today sure don't know what they missed out on , those were truly the good old days !

Saturday morning television was for kids and they took it away.
The cartoons and live action shows are classics and better than what is being offered today. It was awesome to watch cartoons on new color tv. It was a big deal in those days.

Love the vcr but it really changed things record cartoons Saturday morning and watch them for the 1st time Monday night and when cartoon network came along with the rest of the mainstream cable t.v boom that was the death of Saturday morning and t.v as anticipation as a whole as consumer choice yes its better in the past 35 years and of course the internet and you tube but the visceral experience of t.v and movie going die out a long time ago but as Carol Brady told Marcia times and technology change but not people.

    • @FredFlix
      @FredFlix  2 года назад

None of the cartoons in this video are anything like Banana Splits and Pufnstuf. Those shows had less action (not to mention being mostly live action and not animated) due to the crackdown on violence in U.S. cartoons. A wild superhero adventure show set in out space like Space Ghost is light years (no pun intended) away from tame kiddie shows like Splits and Pufnstuf.

@@1701echopapa That's right -- inspired by TV's "The Wild, Wild West", down to the recurring pint-sized genius villain (Miquelito Loveless/Tiny Tom). The best treatment of the Ranger ever, IMO, incld. the radio serials and movies.

This is when Saturday mornings were the best. To be a kid again. Growing up in the '60s was awesome. In our home, whoever woke up the earliest on Saturday morning pretty much had control of the tv. Luckily we agreed on some shows. Some of my faves were Heckle and Jeckle,Woody Woodpecker,H.R Pufnstuff,The Archies and Scooby Doo. Thanks youtube for bringing back the memories.

Not really heroes in powers sense are Schoolhouse Rock with songs like " Verb, that's what's happening."," Conjunction junction, what's your function?", "I'm just a bill, just a lonely bill, and I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill".
Lucan, the wolf boy. The Phoenix - well he kinda had powers.

When I was a kid, I remember the older high school students who played in the marching band. At practices, when there was a few minutes here and there of downtime, they liked to do impromptu versions of some of these theme songs. It was pretty cool. I remember hearing "The Mod Squad" start up (a horn section favorite), Jonny Quest (there was a girl who was terrific on a flute solo, and the kettle drum kid loved banging), and a few others. Sometimes the band director told them to "knock it off".

Cartoons were the best in the 30's through the 50's.
After that animation changed and in came
    the Banana splits and
    Sigmund the sea monster.
    Super heros changed.
    But they all wanted the
    same thing.
    Before TV, you could
    only see cartoons at the
    movie theatre. Now,
    I'm watching Felix on
    my cell phone.
