Was a teen in the 70s and miss this era of Saturday 📺 Morning cartoons
The good old days when villains explained their origins....😆
Right. Just come out with it.
And it turns out he’s a sci fi Walter White😂
Wikipedia has since made it unnecessary.
Those voices were awesome I just miss those cartoons so much.
Music was iconic too!
There was NOTHING BETTER than Saturday morning cartoons and eating Captain Crunch and Quisp Cereals for breakfast while watching those great cartoons in the 1960's.
Best memories ever.
Or Quake cereal
Yep 👍🏽
Sugar bear cereal which is black cereal from the late 60s into the 70s
I haven't heard of those cereals in ages, I am 68. These were great cartoons to watch, along with Spiderman - Loved his theme song, and thought it was the best.
Right? I was always a Quisp fan😂
Been a Marvel fan since 1968...so at 60 years old, I’m having fun with all things MCU. Wished Jack Kirby lived long enough to see it.
Same here, we grew up with Marvel.
Jack Kirby would have said recast T'Challa like Chadwick Boseman would have wanted.
Hahaha 😂 - Ich bin 85 Jahre und liebe es 😁👍
DC is better
@@eloygameno379 With Ezra Killer? hmm...
The Fantastic Four are truly underrated in the world of Marvel Comics, definitely one of the best super heroes ever in my book.
Back in the 60s they were the top Marvel super hero group and the first of the new crop of heroes starting in 1961. The Avengers came along later. Too bad the movie attempts failed and never did them justice.

When Saturday morning cartoons were at their best!!
Thanks for the memories. I used to get up and make some cereal, then turn on the tv when it was still just fuzz and wait for the Saturday morning cartoons to start. Now at 53, I wish they still had Saturday morning cartoons like this, I'd still watch them.
Me too, loved Space Ghost,Birdman,Herculoids,Shazzan, those were the days.
@Burns Myron it's MORBIN TIME
Ah yes the old " take over the world" plot... The ever popular villain explaining his/her origin and plan to conquer everything. Things were just so much simpler and better back then.
These are the cartoons I grew up watching and they are the best ever 64-74
THESE WERE THE GREAT MARVEL CARTOONS! Wonderful memories! 🙂
This won't happen. All the rights are tied up. Hollywood doesn't want to pay for the use of old comic scripts.
You get that right and not even the marvel movies they make today just don't compair.
Shows like Space Ghost, Fantastic Four, Jonny Quest, no one knew that we now do what they did
Fantastic Four are a testament to how comic book super heroes can give the average fan everything they want from the realm of science fiction, sincerely the 80's kid from within! 🤓 💯
On point, they are my favorite team. It was Reeds knowledge of science & Stan & Kirby's genius & art that pulled me in the world of marvel, I have more of FF than any in my collection.
@@drk.i.a.2969 Do you have , I believe it's #68 & #69, 1st app. Galactus ??
The LEE/KIRBY original FF stories had so much plot development, even this watered down T.V. adaptation was still exciting!
I was 8 in 1968 so this was one of the good ones, thanks for memory
Though not as charismatic or awe-inspiring as Victor von Doom, Owen Reece (a.k.a. The Molecule Man) is one of the most powerful altered humans in Marvel comics. Depicted here is is a Molecule Man still new to his abilities and one still psychologically dependent on a "wand" to channel and project his powers. Once he masters his matter- and energy-manipulating abilities, he can use them to great effect with a simple thought or act of will. In cinema, I see him as a secondary villain who is perhaps recruited by Dr. Doom to help him defeat the FF4.
And Molecule Man had a lot to do in the recent Secret Wars a few years back.
"Now I create magnets out of dust particles!" And if your hands and feet were metal, that would mean something.
Classic cartoon! Great fun...it’s a shame they haven’t come up with the right script, chemistry & continuity with the movies.
Un
The 2005 movie came the closest. Michael Chiklis was good as the Thing. It's not great cinema, but it's a decent popcorn flick.
Actually if I wanted to get people in the theaters I would use the mole man and his subterranean monsters as protagonist first, then ease Doctor Doom in as we go. None of this Victor is our Friend Crsp

I have all of the Hanna Barbera Super Hero cartoons on DVD. I taped them all on VHS then transferred them to DVD. They're in pristine condition with no flaws. Good cartoons that I grew up on.

I can remember watching this cartoon as a child. Cartoons like this got me interested in comic books and it helped me understand Science better because of the scientific information it brought to that small screen!!! It was never just about the fight, but the message of knowledge it gave me.
Teamwork makes learning fun! Different perspectives; making friends. There was a time as a child, I loved going to school!!!
Yeah,I remember these cartoons, used to buy the FF comicbooks by Kirby. These old cartoons are sooo nostalgic.
The animation quality of the Fantastic Four made by Hanna-Barbera Studios in 1967 is very good, in fact it is better than the animation of the Superfriends (DC-JLA) that Hanna-Barbera Studios did years later.
The original season of superfriends maybe but challenge of the super friends blows FF away...
@@davidbanner7804 Okay, the last seasons of: The Challenge of the Super Friends was epic. The drawing master: Jose Luis Garcia Lopez made the drawing guides. Every frame and sequence of movement had an amazing quality on the acetates. Fantastic Four and Challenge of the Super Friends, two of the best works from Hanna-Barbera Studios.

I recall molecule man’s voice in Thundarr the barbarian as well.
I love this! Last time I saw this episode, it was on a 12 inch, black and white TV! I remember the first episode. Fall, Saturday morning cartoons. So exciting!
One of the all time great superhero cartoons, made in '68, just before the networks pulled back on adventure and scifi shows because they were too "violent." Whenever I read a Fantastic Four comic, I always imagine Ben Grimm as speaking in Paul Frees' voice.
Same here.
It was the last gasp of power from the PTA. It stopped marvels animation shows for the next ten years or so.

The Thing sounds like he was voiced by Paul Frees, who also voiced Boris Badenov in "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle". Very talented voice actor!!
Holy schmokes! Sounds like Pizza the Hutt from Spaceballs, too!
It is Paul Frees.
Yeah, until he passed away in 1986.
When Saturday morning was magic
In Britain we didn't get to see The Fantastic Four until the late 1970s, Saturday mornings on ITV. They really nailed the voices for each character and visually this cartoon brought the comic to life. The jazzy soundtrack is very cool as well.
My 1960’s childhood.
Mine too!😄
I remember Fantastic Four way back in 1967. I was five. Time keeps on slippin' into the future.

The music score of these cartoons was great!
That's back when cartoon network actually had cartoons..spiderman..Johnny quest..
The best adaptation of the FF to date, despite the fancy high budget movies.
I remember renting this video as a child every time we went to my Great Grandparents house. Loved it.
Always awesome cartoons.
Read the 1974 comic Marvel Two-In-One where Molecule Man transforms both Ben Grim & Man-Thing back into humans.
8:50 Those are the steps of the New York City Library and that's one of the two lion statues that came to life in the first Ghostbusters movie. Nice touch!
And it's also used to be my birthplace, back in the 1980s.
I noticed the same music is used in each super-heroe episode of H& B's cartoons.
I'm as old as this classic animated show. 👍
I like that during this world-threatening crisis Johnny made sure to say "Goodbye!" to the General before hanging up the phone.
This was the golden era for cartoons and entertainment. Thank you for the upload.
I never saw this cartoon before. and the Fantastic Four are my all-time favorites. I started my collection when Johnny accidentally put fire on the Empire State University.
Molecule Man is a ridiculously powerful Super Villain. In Marvel cannon, he is nigh unstoppable.
Only One Coming Close Is The Beyonder
Loved this cartoon when i was a kid. Around 11 years old. Id stay up late every Saturday night to record this on Cartoon Network. Theyd show this at around 5 am as a part of their Boomerang segment. This was around 2001 2002 i think. Good ol days.
I love the Jonny Quest music. Great Cartoon.
"I'd like to make a toast to Batman, Superman and the Human Torch!"
These was the days when cartoons was great & fantastic four was always a favorite of mine along with superman johnny quest & underdog.
Sounds like Alan Reed as Molecule Man. Gerald Mohr as Reed Richards. Paul Frees as Ben Grimm. Great stuff.
Not Alan Reed…his replacement as Fred Flintstone. Henry Cordin?
It's not Alan Reed I recognize the guy's voice but he usually plays a Russian KGB agent he always uses Russian voices sometimes she wears glasses he has dark hair he's been in several things I just can't place his name
@@brantardrey7360 Henry Corden? I think you're right. Not coincidentally, he took over as Flintstone after Reed passed away
This episode is based on FF#20, which introduced the character of the Molecule Man.
A couple of interesting things, though. In the comic, it was the Watcher who tipped off the FF about the existence of the Molecule Man. During the fight, instead of using frost to make Sue visible, he animated nearby newspapers, engulfing her body. And Reed did not defeat MM by inventing a gun with a special spray. Instead, he deduced that MM could not use his powers against LIVING molecules. (Yes, I know in the episode, he brought a statue of a lion to life; but that did not happen in the comic.) So what he did was have artist Alicia Masters cover him and the rest of the FF with a thin layer of granite, making them appear as if they were gray statues. The Molecule Man, in his ego, attempted to change them, causing a feedback in which he dropped his wand - which as then seized by Reed. At that point, the Watcher reappeared, and transported the Molecule Man to a special prison, ending the issue.
I'm getting vibes from where Reed tricks magneto in that one cartoon
Dude thanks for the interesting info
Yep, excellent summation of that event. All due to Owen having self-imposed mental blocks on himself against using hios powers against living beings. Which Doom then removed and opened up his full power, making Owen the most powerful being in the universe (except for the Beyonder, whose power Doom had just stolen). I'll stop rambling now
I think that ‘prison’ was the Negative Zone.
@@MrBlueSkyof1607 Could be. In fact it's an explanation which makes perfect sense. The Negative Zone is a universe where the laws of physics do not apply. The Molecule Man's powers would have been useless, given the fact they would have no effect in the Negative Zone.
I've never seen this and I'm loving it! It's nerdy!!
Back in the 60’s my father would make fun of how the sci-fi villains would always attempt to “rule the universe!”
My father told us back in his day (the 30’s) all the villains wanted was to take over the town! 😀😂😆
Always liked the soundtrack.
Composed and conducted by Hanna-Barbera's stand in musical genius, the great Ted Nichols (Birdman & Galaxy Trio, Scooby-Doo where are you, The herculoids, Space Ghost and many more). I'd do anything to see his soundtracks released
Portions of the score were used in Johnny Quest.
@@lashistoriasdejorge379
Thanks for this. One of my favorite clips, musically, is the bass-heavy jazzy piece at 13:34 . Was never clear if that was by Nichols or Hoyt Curtin. I'll accept that it is Nichols.
@@sail2byzantium Yup, that's definitely Nichols right there, because Curtin left the studio from 65-72, and that piece only appeared in Space Ghost (1966) and was reused for the other action/adventure cartoons. That's one of my favorites too, Nichols' musical work is really outstanding
@@lashistoriasdejorge379
Thanks again. I was unsure as I wondered if I heard early like on Johnny Quest where, I assume, Curtin was still around. But I distinctly remember that music for FF and esp. the Herculoids and Space Ghost--and I think I even recall occasionally hearing it on the original incarnation of Superfriends (1973).
This is probably my favorite superhero cartoon of all time. I hope I live long enough to see a DVD release of the show.
I don’t know why Disney doesn’t remaster and release the 1967 Fantastic Four, the 1967 Spider-Man and the 1966 Marvel Superheroes shows. I have them all on bootleg but would love a better remastered quality.
They did recently release all the old Star Wars cartoons and specials on Disney+ maybe one day soon we'll get a marvel drop.
@@ovalvox7888 The problem is that the 1967 “Fantastic Four” was made by Hanna-Barbera, whose shows are now owned by Warner Bros, of whom DC Comics is a subsidiary.

The Fantastic Four are AWESOME!!!
My continued favorite memories of this show was the intro, and their commitment to saving the world.
Also, the Watcher. He was very cool.
The watcher was the worst. I'm surprised he wasn't fired given how many times he interfered.
In the Fantastic Four episode, Galactus, the "Watcher " was very helpful!
I just miss Saturday morning cartoons. Thank you for this video
This is sooooooooooooooooo much better than any of the live action films thus far.
The only regret that Hanna-Barbera had at the time was that they didn’t get to make more Cartoon Shows based off Marvel at the time FF4 came out in 1967. Imagine how big it would’ve been if they showed Spider-Man, Iron Man, & X-Men in the 60’s.
I love the background music. Henry Mancini’s Peter Gunn meets Duke Ellington’s Anatomy Of A Murder, plus Hoyt Curtin from Jonny Quest.

This is so much better than what's on TV today! No dumb agendas just good old-fashioned cartoons😎💪🏾
Really? there has always been agenda's...the Molecule Man villain just happens to appear Asian, no agenda huh?
@@adrian72300 The Molecule Man doesn't look Asian, he looks like a monster, and the lab technician who became him wasn't Asian, he was white. If you want real racism, check out the Iron Man cartoons from the 1960s with the Mandarin, or Johnny Quest's nemesis, Dr. Zin. Both are stereotypical "evil Asians" in the mold of Fu Manchu.

The title says Molecule Man, and that’s how he also introduces himself. Later he calls himself the Molecular Man. The voice actor goofed.
