That was a great idea! I had never thought about making preserves from fresh pineapple. I've canned lots of different fruit preserves but not pineapple! 👍👍 that is 2 thumbs up 😁
Hi there!!! I've load of pineapple at my garden. I think it's good to preserve it like you do in this video otherwise I've to wait for its fruiting season. Liked and subscribed. Watching from Borneo.
Her Homestead Skills you’re welcome. Mine was only about $5 . It Made a world of difference for me. Walmart has one $5.97 www.walmart.com/ip/Silver-Stainless-Steel-Pineapple-De-Corer-Peeler-Stem-Remover-Blades-for-Diced-Fruit-Rings-by-Super-Z-Outlet/285328998?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=2012&&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=1021048&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113500257&wl11=online&wl12=285328998&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0emHBhC1ARIsAL1QGNfhqklRvcQGgj4RUq-FRC4Hn4Q68entYO3E0mcJTDEcmuTGhVFWnGIaAqgcEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Diana FM...I checked on-line and apparently Walmart "Canada" does not carry that product I would likely find it in a kitchen supply store. but thank you!!!
Ive planted 2 pineapple heads in pots. They lived fine... until the first one died during winter outside last year. The trick is to pull off leaves around the base for root hairs to be able to come out. One guy said his grew in the compost pile.
Diana FM...HA! Mark asked me if I was going to grow the pineapple head (he said "i know you") I had to respond with no, not this time, no way to overwinter it. LOL
Good morning Toni. I've never done pineapple as I have trouble with peeling due to arthritis and nerve damage. Always thought of LARGE loads but I think I'll get a pre=peeled from Zehrs and make a few teeny jars. Thank you for posting. Take care.
Linda B...There is nothing wrong with preserving in small amounts if you want to have homemade preserves on hand. It appears that my garden is producing more than I can eat, but not enough for large loads of preserves..so I do small ones when stuff is ready to be harvested.
Diana FM..yes that whole pineapple would have been wasted if I didn't preserve it. sometimes you purchase something "fresh" with the intent to eat it right away and something else happens.
Thanks for the inspiration Toni.
Rose Zingleman...Just noticed your post before I left the computer....and wanted to say Thank You!!!

Gidget Hale...It became apparent we would not be consuming it right away...so I decided to preserve it for later use. Thank You !!!

Toni, I am in and out with watching videos because of being back to work full time. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
Robin Norcross...Thank You...and being back to work is always a good thing...I appreciate your support too!!!
Those look so good! I have tiny cans of pineapple (and apple) juice for cooking pork roasts and chops. I'd crack one open to top them off 😁
Andrea...Yes, we have used pineapple rings on ham slices/steaks...Yum!!!!
One of the best tools I bought is a pineapple corer. It pulls the whole pineapple out clean and spiral cut and leaves the core and shell 🍍
Diana Fm...I wasn't aware there was a pineapple tool...researched it and there arrears to be a few different ones...Thanks !!!

Her Homestead Skills , I’ll probably add it to the top choices to bring inside this year. It does well in a small pot.

I’ve wasted so much pineapple not using all of it. This is a great idea to preserve them.
