    • @maxsdad538
      @maxsdad538 3 года назад +13

      You're missing the point. You don't dehydrate foods for health benefits, you do it for weight and storage. And dehydrating doesn't remove ALL vitamin C, but it CAN remove up to 55% with fruits like apples, apricots, peaches, and prunes (source: Wiley Encyclopedia of Food Science and Technology).

      You most certainly can. I do it all the time. As of late I've been prepping using my dehydrator almost full time while I'm awake. Scheduling often has me at the point where I turn the dehydrator off.
      Why would I do such? I live in an arid environment where it has been hitting 100 degrees outside everyday. So I have set my dehydrator on my patio table under the patio cover. I'm letting nature supply half the. heat needed. I could set the timer to turn off the unit at 3am or whatever time I think the job would be completed. Problem is that insects, possums, rats etc.... might find the aroma too tempting to not try for a score. So I just turn the unit off and take it inside until the AM where I then take it outside to complete.

    • @Marecipes
      @Marecipes  3 года назад

      Dried/dehydrated fruits aren't crispy, they are sweet and chewy like those you buy outside. Crispy one are those fried or freeze-dried fruits, they are different 😊
