TIMESTAMPS!!! 24:56 - sorry4dying 50:00 - tell me a joke 1:14:46 - don't mind me 1:37:39 - picking up hands 1:58:36 - born yesterday (aka Hugz has a religious experience) 2:20:47 - the memories we lost in translation 2:24:02 - house settling (aka another religious experience courtesy of Danny Brown) 2:52:11 - knots 3:08:01 - fantasyworld 3:36:50 - fractions of infinity (aka Hugz has an ACTUAL religious experience) 3:38:22 - cassini's division 4:08:08 - Insecure (KSI Diss Track) I think your thoughts on the individual songs on IDMTHY are super important aside from just your initial reactions, and I really enjoyed the discussions you had with chat about the meaning of each song. I absolutely loved listening to you experience the album and what you took away from it.
As a fan watching Quadeca in 2019 making goofy fun YT disstracks to witnessing his full metamorphosis as an artist which led to him making one of the most unique concept albums that flips the concept of mourning and grief on its head with now instead seeing your loved ones grieve while you’re in the afterlife is definitely one of the fan experiences of all time. Great analysis and breakdown, hope all is well !
So glad I helped along with bringing more awareness to this fantastic album and for you to revist it I was watching the stream but I started it from the beginning so I could see all of it and I’m glad that you did this. Thank you 🙏
As a Quadeca fan I was little worried that some people would be a little overzealous, as i've seen some fans are towards people that listen to this, but i'm glad you and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun listening! looking forward to more streams, im glad vods are usually up since i cant usually catch streams :>
sorry for being a little overzealous in chat during this one 😅 im glad you got so much out of it, the stream was awesome and i always enjoy people immersing themselves in one of my favorite pieces of art ever
I would love to see you react to boy by 2hollis!! Also I believe that in house settling, the character leaks carbon monoxide not to kill his mother so she can see him in the afterlife but so that she can hallucinate him and see him as a ghost because CO is known for causing hallucinations and ghost sightings.
Idk if anyone mentioned it. But the sample at the end of Dont Mind Me is "It Is Well With My Soul" a hymn, performed by The Cathedrals. I was raised in an extremely restrictive christian house. You couldnt listen to anything unless it was southern gospel. One of the big bands of the era was The Cathedrals. I recognized it immediately. But on a side note, i really dont think that was a good sample choice. It sounds amazing for the Quad song. But the entire point of that song, and the sample chosen, is the exavt opposite of what the entire Dont Mind Me song is about. Ive never understood the sample choice.
it is well with my soul is abt a father finding peace after his kid died, this album is somewhat abt a mother dealing with quadecas death. i feel like it is really good foreshadowing thematically.
