  • WELCOME BACK TO MY CHANNEL!!!
THE BERETTA A300 ULTIMA PATROL 7+1 12 GAUGE SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN!
(Disclaimer: We do NOT sell firearms or firearms parts, this channel discusses firearms and firearm parts, because of the community guidelines we cannot show any gunsmithing skills without great risk.)
SPECIAL THANKS TO MY FOLLOWERS AND CHANNEL SUPPORTERS
BROWNELLS INC, SWAMPFOX OPTICS, SHOOTING INNOVATIONS LLC.
My first impressions of the shotgun was the texture was somewhat aggressive on the foreend and buttstock and the shotgun overall weight was lite.
One way Beretta lightened the load so to speak with the overall weight was some of the components are Polymer/plastic. You can see that the extended tube has a shroud of plastic over it not sure why that was needed but there it is on the end shown in the video. Also, you can see that the barrel is threaded for chokes which is nice.
Very good finish, very well done. It does come with an extended charging handle, extended bolt release, and a Picatinny scope base.
When I was in law enforcement, we ran EOTechs almost religiously on different weapon platforms from A.R. 15’s to semi-auto shotguns.
It does include a fiber optic rod on the front sight in red.
If you notice the dramatic cuts on the bottom of the receiver, that is what we like to call a three gun cut on a shotgun. It makes it easier to load shells into the magazine too because some of the material has been removed so if you’re big into double loading (2 shells at a time) or quad loading (4 at a time) your shotgun for speed, this is something I do like seeing on a shotgun of this caliber.
When you get a shotgun, there’s a rubber plug hiding the rear sling mount. You can take a pocket knife or needle nose pliers and pull this little plug out and this is what’s underneath.
The plastic butterfly clamp again is another way Beretta saved weight but added the function. There is a sling mount on both left and right side.
It’s a very nice and well put together shotgun!
If you hadn’t noticed, on the end of the forearm are the M lok slots.
There is also one on the bottom of the forearm.
Also, there is another one on the left side where I mounted my enforce Picatinny mount tactical flashlight.
One of the cons I would say with a shotgun is the overaggressive texture on not just the forearm, but the buttstock shown in the video.

I picked my A300 up about 2 months ago. I couldn't justify $600 more for the 1301. I'm happy with my choice, after break in it'll run anything I throw at it (with the exception of mini shells). Excellent shotty IMO. Great review.

Many shells are fun to “try” to run through the shotgun but you’re right they’re not reliable enough to use in any defensive scenario for semiautomatics. There are a handful shotguns it will run in reliably, but not in the Beretta, or the Benelli’s.

@@GunsmithBeardyou can load buckshots and slug shells inside of a Beretta and a Benelli why should that make it “unreliable”?
I mean how many military corps around the world use those, if they were unreliable like you say; SWAT uses Benelli for some reason, I don’t think they would put their life on anything else.

The A300 has been a great experience.
It puts shot downrange very, very quickly. I never had to wait on the A300 to take my next shot - I can empty the tube in 1.4 seconds on a incredibly reliable basis and keeping it on target is not at all difficult. It is absolutely faster than I am.
One of my favorite exercises is to load random shells into the gun and dump the tube as fast as possible. 8-shot fast loads, 7 1/2-shot slow loads, 4-shot, 0 though 0000 buck, 2 3/4" magnums, 3" magnums, rifled slugs, sabot slugs, low brass, high brass, SUPER high brass, etc, etc, ETC. A dump pouch full of random shells - your buddy loads and you go. Fun as hell, laugh out loud at firing a 3" mag and then flinching like a child at a 7 1/2-shot low brass. I have not fired 3.5" shells through it, but I should mix some in for the excitement.
My A300 has never wavered, never failed to extract, never failed to ignite a primer, failed to feed twice because I just squirted oil into it the day I got it and started shooting. I cleaned the factory grease out of it after that first range day and haven't had an issue since.
2500 rounds through it so far, and it's been my favorite shotgun to play with. It does take range time to get fast on reloads due to its manual of arms, but practice makes perfect. I haven't had issues with the aggressive checkering/pattern in the grip and handguard - I use the push-pull method of recoil management too, so it's not like I'm barely holding on to it. While I have Magpul shooting gloves, I usually forget to wear them 😑 Oops.
Muzzle rise is not a problem with the A300 Patrol - make smart choices on ammo for home defense. Federal FX2 is easy on recoil, has super-tight patterns (second only to Flitecontrol wads IME), and the copper pellets split on contact - 00 buck with 9 pellets becomes 18 pellets when it enters the target. Brutal stuff, to the target at least.
I also really like the rail and sights. I have a Sparc Solar on its high mount, which lets you use the ghost ring through the mount. Simple to use either sight just by changing your cheek weld - I've had multiple people comment on how much they like the sight setup and being able to transition instantly from one to the other..
I keep a can of Gun Scrubber in my range bag along with a point applicator of Hoppe's oil - a little tender loving care and a run of a bore snake a half-dozen times so far, and it's all good.

First thank you for your feedback I love hearing how your experience is with yours!
I would agree with you on almost every point you make it’s a phenomenal gun . You might have a different barrel than I do but mine is only rated for 3 inch shells. It won’t even chamber a 3 1/2 inch shell. On the side of the barrel, it should tell you what is chamber that a lot of them will say 2 3/4 and 3 inch or up to 3 inch.

Cmon... The textures not that bad! It's an awesome all around shotgun! I made a few changes on mine. A Holosun 507c on a reptilia mount. Mag tube cover and barrel clamp from GG&G. An oversized charging handle, a Blue Force Sling and a Streamlight. I've got hundreds of rounds of 00 buck and Slugs thru it and it's been flawless!

To be completely honest, I think the shotgun is one of my favorite. It’s in the top five in my collection. I had a Benelli M3 but I ended up getting rid of it because I’d rather have a M2. But also this Beretta is 1000 times better in my opinion.

The aggressive texture can not possibly be a issue for a home defense or law enforcement use, where you will fire maybe 8 rounds. Training with 1000 rounds per day, yes the rough texture may be irritating.

My shoulder does not miss that 1000-shell count at all. The training I do miss. Everyone gets hung up on the grips being aggressive, also how heavy guns are... that is why I state that the firearms do have that feature in my videos.

    • @GunsmithBeard

I found in high stress scenarios that generally user malfunctions tend to increase unless extensive training with that weapon system is done rigorously and frequently. Semi-Automatic Shotguns definitely are a good option if the ammo runs flawlessly without issue.

It seems like the newer the shotgun is the more picky it is on shell… when I’ve had the opportunity to go to Beretta/ Benelli range days the brand new guns are trying to put on the market for a shot show are super picky and finicky with what shells they shoot, or they only run high velocity shells to hide the break in period.
But I’ve been the other range days were the Shotguns(both companies brought) were heavily used and they literally run everything.
