In my opinion, i think Seungkwan has better technique cuz he needs it to make sure he doesn't hurt his throat when he sings. Bumzu mentioned it before in 17 Project that Seungkwan tends to strain his throat while singing in the past, so he had to work with him and a specialist to find ways to not hurt his throat while singing. DK is a gifted singer, cuz he can easily sing high notes. And i believe his range is a lot wider than all the members. On a radio show (SuJu Kiss the Radio), Seungkwan & DK sang a song called 지친 하루 and DK sang this really low part in the 1st verse. Woozi has a pretty wide range too. Idk how low he can go yet but he can go pretty high. S.Coups should have a higher rank. Probably higher than The8, Jun, Dino and Wonwoo. He was originally trained as a singer when he entered Pledis but he started rapping out of interest and decided to go with it. My Dino, I think he is underrated. he can dance very very well, he can sing and he can also rap, his stage present absolutely amazing,... All talented. He deserves better.
If need to compare between dk and seungkwan i will surrender first because they have their own unique that we can't compare...because they have their ability to use first voice, second voice and third voice😍😍😍They will show their power of voice in suitable song so there's nothing to compare and not just two of them but all seventeen members😘😘😘
I prefer seokmin's vocal because he have strong vocal.. while seungkwan can hit higher notes than dk but it's STRAINING... But he has support.. it's just that when DK can't sing the high note he will use falsetto and it didn't result straining. My opinion:
I'm agree with you,i prefer Dk too. DK can reach A5 on manse song and I think he's much higher right? not only there. I think he can more higher that that. I think Dk not often uses falsetto but he mostly uses the head voice or mixed voice(maybe more to heady mix or masked head voice). High notes Dokyeom achieved, which I know he mostly does on seventeen covers and adlibs(on their covers or seventeen songs themselves) and when Dk sings at karaoke(it's amazing). Other than that I think Dk also has a wide range and high versatility that can match any song from energetic to slow. He was also able to master the low notes steadily. And I think his belting isn't bad either(if he have more practice it's must be good). That's why I really like DK because he has a lot of voice colors and a lot of techniques that he's good at it ofc he has big support tho that's make more powerful. And his voice when he sing it's just flow into my soul. This is just my opinion btw, I'm not comparing him from other singers or other members.
next time, can we put DK and Seungkwan as top 1? for me, there are some aspects wherein DK exceeds SK and vice versa. DK's resonance, head voices and falsettos are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Kpop stans think belting is everything, and yes, that's good but honey, that shouldn't be just IT. Seungkwan has a wider range and a better singing technique as most people say (But I personally think they both have really good and unique techniques) and that's it. Whereas DK is more on to the sharp side while SK has a round and fuller sound. Personally. I really like DK's voice and his whistle. This man can sing. IDC about yall but they are really good singers. I just like DK's vocal colors but nonetheless they're excellent singers.
Seunkwan is pretty mich more developed than dk. Dk haven't really resonate something and his support end at F4/F#4 whereas seungkwan has a better consistency on his resonance up to G#4 and have showed that he can supoort A4 at times so for mix seungkwan thakes a big upper hand there, lows for dk which are slighly better than seungkwan's i don't have the exact support of dk but i'd say Eb3 and to seun Eb3/E3. That and that seun is more agile better cord clossure breath support more optimal placement. Seun takes the upoer hand there.
@@keeks4914 Resonance is basically the amplification of the volume the voice it is a full open and rich sound. Yep, DK is averave and seung is aboce average
Dino is really underrated and it's painful, his vocals really shine in semicolon! Also I don't think I'd rank Wonwoo there (maybe putting him right below Dino and S.Coups?) since overall he is airy compared to the latter two. Thanks for the video! And Sungyoon picture tho 👀
I think that if jun didn’t get all those crazy ass high notes people would notice how soothing and angelic his real voice is... like I don’t trust people that don’t LOVE his voice in I wish
When i watched seventeen vocal rankings i saw how many people prefer seokmin's over seungkwan's because he's MUCH clearer (well ofc true) but i actually prefer seungkwan, for the same reasons. imo, boo has better technique than seokmin (i just love how he constantly uses mix voice, changing from head to mix so effortlessly) *psst seungkwan belting is a big turn on* and the god of singing that lives inside him jumped out when he closes his eyes, bringing all the emotions out. I can't not cry hearing him singing. For example, in the final chorus of 'fear', there's so much pain in his voice when he sings it, man the feelssss. But anyways, they compliment each other, their voice blended so nicely and i live for it
This was a great ranking, I agree with a lot of your reasoning! However, I just wanna let you know that Exo’s DO is actually a tenor, not a baritone. His mixing is more chest dominant than most tenors in kpop, but his range sits much more comfortably in a tenor area.
don't get me wrong. i LOVE seungkwan and i understand why he is in 1st. but something in dokyeom pulls me unto him. i love his vocals for (this is in my opinion, it doesn't mean i hate seungkwan's singing voice) but seokmin's technique is just WOW. he can slay a musical if pledis lets him. he has GREAT control over his voice and doesn't push it unlike most artists and then strain. seokmin doesn't do that. it feels like he has trained his vocals for a VERY long time that his techniques are all so good. and god, the way he can change his chest voice unto falsetto and etc. his singing ability... just wow.
choosing between seungkwan and dokyeom is so hard for me since they're my top 2 and their golden voices are the reason why i became a carat almost 5 years ago. but looking at them now, i think it's safe to say that dokyeom would be number one when it comes to vocal ranking based on music technicalities, simply because being casted AND recasted as a musical actor really solidified his position as a power vocalist. his improvement over the years is amazing because seungkwan actually had better technique before-dokyeom used to strain his voice a little when singing higher notes. but ever since he got (i assume) vocal training outside pledis for his musical, he drastically improved. his voice has gotten more expressive and wider in range with better pitch accuracy. his high notes are better sustained and supported so he doesn't excessively strain his chords anymore. his voice was already stable before but his breath control improved even more, making him the most stable live. and my favorite improvement of all is dokyeom's resonance. his voice is stronger and supported straight from the diaphragm, making it travel very far, thus the reason why you can always hear his voice loud and clear despite thirteen members singing (people say its because he has a loud voice, but it's all technique). another notable technique is how clean and well-supported his chest voice-falsetto-head voice transitions are. oops i word-vomited-i just pay a lot of attention to seventeen and their vocal techniques lol, and i also want to let people know about dokyeom's incredible improvement. at the end of the day choosing between booseok just depends on your vocal color preference.
MY FAVE IS DK. I'M SO INLOVE WITH HIS TONE AND VOICE COLOR. HIS VOICE SOUND LIKE A CRYSTAL CLEAR. BUT WITH SEUNGKWAN, I THINK HE CAN SING IN HIGHER NOTES THAN DK.
i like both seungkwan and seokmin voice but in my own opinion i like seungkwan voice when he sing in lower key than at higher key. And i feel like woozi and seokmin fit higher note well. Who agree with me🥱
For me, I'd put seungcheol higher cuz he CAN sing very well and has a good technique and clear voice. But judging on SVT's songs, and his position as a rapper his vocals isn't really the priority to shine but DAMN if given the chance this man can give IT.
I'm sorry but i think you're only basing your analysis whether a member is a tenor or a baritone based on their tone alone (high pitchy tone or deeper rich one). But vocal classifications are more than just like that. It also involves the range they're capable of and their passiaggio (transition between vocal registers such as chest, mix, head voice).
hellow, fellow carat! i listed their tone as it was really important, but it was only for classification. say for example, he may be a baritone but such techniques and skills made him excell, or a tenor being the same. :)
@@kweenkwon5031 i didn't meant to say that tones are not important. What I'm saying is vocal classifications are far beyond distinguishing tone (whether high or low) itself. No hate towards you though😘
i agree with yours almost entirely but in my opinion (PLZ DONT @ ME ITS REALLY UNPOPULAR- CRIES) jun should be higher. i honestly believe that jun is one of the top seven vocalists and could easily be lead vocal. idk it just sounds like an angel’s voice to me, but i can see why you would rank him so low. other than the technique problem, almost everything seems good to me- but technique is a big thing (why i say 7 not like 5 or something). i feel like he’s about the same level as jeonghan and jisoo and soonyoung. once again, i love your ranking and respect it and you’re a queen (i love your videos 😔🥺) hehe that’s all i had to say-
I know nothing about technique, but I really like dk’s voice idk it just sounds so clean. They’re all good vocalists though and idk maybe I’m biased because DK is one of my bias, along with Jun, dino and hoshi and sometimes everyone
wow good explanation uwu I agree with you!! like everyone in seventeen is good at everything, I'm crying 😭😭 they are so perfect and deserve more than anything
Jeonghan~hyung! Wonwoo-hyung! (I'm a girl but Oppa is a bit far fetched) I love your voices a lot, I love all of seventeen vocals when they sing, they're truly amazing and I get awestruck by all thirteen of them, please continue to be your amazing selves and stay healthy, I hope to hear more of your lovely voices in the future, hwaiting!
Umm okay just to point out that DK has definitely strained lol, there is not one singer in the world who hasn't strained in their life so that's false. Also, Seungkwan has the best technique in Seventeen but DK has a wider range. Reason is, Seungkwan has a wider support range than DK and can produce resonance he's also consistent with his support while DK isn't consistent and I don't think I've heard him produce resonance. Thou I get why DK wins the popular vote most of the time since his unique tone definitely adds more flavor to his singing. Remember that higher belting doesn't necessarily equate to better technique.
Appreciate it, but I personally think The8 deserves a higher rank. His voice, as soft as is sounds is really stable, and even if it's not that powerful I think he rocks it in his own way heheheh
Tbh i don't feel like any seventeen member is a baritone maybe wonwoo but the rest just seems to be just chesty and underdeveloped tenors who carry mich weight in their voice cuz they lower their larinx and get a thicker sound, similar to ryujin from itzy who is a chesty soprano. How dk have the best technique in seventeen when seungkwan can support up to A4 and resonate up to G#4? Genuinely asking Btw dk support up to F4/F#4 if i'm not wrong.
ive heard that wonwoo is a chesty and underdeveloped tenor, like what you said in the 2nd part of the first sentence also how would you rank seventeen?? the only thing im 100% certain with is the fact that seungkwan is better than dk 😅😅
Although I'm a Seungkwan bias I'm gonna disagree with some parts. Seokmin (more than 3 octaves) has wider vocal range than Seungkwan (about 3 octaves). They both have unique voices and colours which seventeen is able to make the best of
My opinion: Based on techniques, tone, stability and vocal range, 1.seungkwan and woozi ties 2. Dk 3.hoshi 4.Jeonghan 5.Jun 6.Joshua 7.wonwoo 8.Dino 9.The rest
the only reason i prefer dk is because of vocal color. i think range make seungkwan technically better but dk’s voice and more masculine and emotive whereas seungkwan has a airier and prettier and almost theatrical voice. although not effortless like dk’s is, seungkwans voice is profound. in any other group dk would be the best by a mile but seungkwan is just insane. my favorite voice is actually hoshi but not
Wonwoo isn't a baritone, he's a Bass. Vernon and Mingyu are leaning more towards baritenor. That being said, Seventeens repertoire doesn't accommodate the lower voices of Seventeen, and Kpop vocal coaches don't help expand their ranges thru falsetto or blended voice. The only reason the vocal team is named the "vocal" team is because they all just happen to be tenors who need minimal effort to sing higher notes because they can just sing in full voice vs using their falsetto for high notes.
I could be biased since I'm a couprang, but oh dear, have you heard seungcheol belting notes in the karaoke box and him and wonwoo 'arcade' live because he sounds amazing
My opinion~ Objective rank 1. Dk 2. Seungkwan 3. Woozi, hoshi 4. Jeonghan Joshua Dino 5. Jun wonwoo scoups 6. The8 vernon mingyu Not objective (mostly based on how much I love the member vocal color don’t come at me) 1. Hoshi 2. Woozi 3. Jun(when he sings in his vocal range) 4. Dk 5. Cheol 6. Dino 7. Wonwoo 8. Seungkwan 9. Vernon 10. The8 11. Mingyu 12. Joshua 13. Jeonghan
I don't actually think Mingyu is a baritone, I think he's an underdeveloped tenor. Similar story for Vernon. (D.O also isn't a baritone, if we look at his tessitura/passagio he fits neatly into tenor. He just has a richer tone than most pop tenors)
@@oncelife6771 i think wonwoo is a genuine baritone. He has the deepest voice in seventeen and unlike Vernon, he has more experience singing. His "potential" as a traditional kpop vocalist is mostly hampered by his voice naturally not lying within the range of most pop songs which means he needs to mix/go into head voice on lower notes than his groupmates. If he were to develop into a more vocal focused member i think he'd end up taking a similar path as Taehyung in BTS, very focused on developing a strong head voice/falsetto so as to not have to lower the melody of svt's songs with the occasional low melody line for dramatic effect (something SVT has already done is Smile Flower)
Agree,it's just he is not trained a singer. If he trained more,i think he could rank higher. Although he is baritone which is kind of disadvantage because kpop songs are mostly for tenors.
You really put vocal unit members Jeonghan joshua lower than hhu and pu . You should definitely listen to same x3 cuz they deserve to be called lead vocals for a reason..don't underestimate their vocals pls
Just a reminder, "never heard him strain" is an understatement. Every vocalists even good ones have strained their voices especially when going out of their supported range.
first of all D.O is a tenor tho :))) and some weak baritone can support in a 4th octave so when you suprised bc Seungkwan can support in the 4th octave im literally cracking up :))
My ranking: 1.DK 2.Woozi 3. Jeongchan 4. Seungkwan 5.Joshua 6. Jun 7. Dino 💜💜 he is amazing 8. Mingyu 9. Hoshi 10. S Coups 11. The 8 12. Wonwoo 12. Vernon
Joshua is my ult bias, but like... Fucking hell Woozi's voice really did come from heaven and every time I hear him sing I'm always just so shook and in awe
I respect all of it and for me Minghao is also great singer it's just that he doesn't get a lot of lines cuz he's not from the vocal unit...I watched many videos of him singing and my Favorite is his song 'Falling Down' and I really can't believe that I really cried when I first saw and heard his performance to that song...And I agree that his voice doesn't fit strong parts because of his soft voice.
hello, I was a chorale member, and stating “tenor” or “baritone” would be misinterpreted because in fact in the choir/chorale, males are divided into 6 categories: • Tenor 1 • Tenor 2 • Baritone 1 • Baritone 2 • Bass 1 • Bass 2 This is in order from higher to lower range. I also have a background in playing Piano so I know the notes all along and I decided to have a ranking based on what note/s they CAN hit or sang naturally. 1. Seungkwan - Tenor 1 2. DK - Tenor 1 3. Woozi - Tenor 1 4. Hoshi - Tenor 2 5. Joshua - Tenor 2 6. Jeonghan - Tenor 2 (but could be baritone due to his pitchy nasal voice) 7. Jun - Tenor 2 (lacks of control but he has wide range of voice) 8. Dino - Tenor 2 (has a wide range of voice and very natural chest voice) 9. Wonwoo - Baritone 1 10. The8 - Baritone 1 (mistakenly as tenor as what you’ve said but he’s natural key of his voice color is D/E [hear 1:05] 11. mingyu - baritone 1/2 12. vernon - bass 1 13. s.coups - bass 1/2 (okay but he has very good voice even he has a low range, as long he’s stable and that’s fine ‘cause he looks hot when singing low-range notes) that’s all, this is only my interpretation and feel free to discuss if u have something to object or to agree upon :))))
oh hello! thanks for commenting facts, i really needed more learnings about tenor 1/2 and etc since all i learned were the basics, i was super confused with jeonghans at first since there are times were his tone is baritone lmaoooo T_T
yeah, but it’s perfectly fineee!! i just thought to do this comment because I was so confused at first hahahah nothing to worry about-it’s just that (maybe) keys & tone are misinterpreted by many :)))
he could pass as baritone tho, but as what like i stated, he lacks of control, he has a wide range of voice. Jun uses his head voice so often, but when he sings in ballad, his chest voice is literally an angel. Same as Jeonghan.
OMG, IN SEUNGKWAN'S PART, I MEANT 4 LEVELS NOT OCTAVES, IM VVV SORRY ABOUT MY MISTAKE.

Seriously i really love joshua voice 😭, thats the reason why i came here , tbh i tought he was 4th but i do agree hoshi vocal is great too
I prefer seokmin's voice but I never complained if you put Boo at first becausee HE DESERVES IT!!
My fav singers are Seokmin Seungkwan and Hoshi
Same. Hoshi voice is tasty? Idk he gives a feeling to the songs
Hoping for a BSS cb....with a album...
if I have to choose, I'm team DK, but that's just nuance because I'm always team SEVENTEEN
DK has such a good technique and I Love his musicality and tone
I prefer seokmin's vocal because he have strong vocal.. while seungkwan can hit higher notes than dk but it's STRAINING... But he has support.. it's just that when DK can't sing the high note he will use falsetto and it didn't result straining.
My opinion:
agree with your reasoning ! in terms of technique, i think dk is a better vocalisttt
Seungkwan won at belting highnote but no one can do falsetto and head voice at the same time and change to chest voice and vice versa
actually, DK vocal range is higher than BOO’s
they know their limits, and I'm glad they do bcuz I'm scared to see them damage their voices
Personally I really love dk , seungkwan and hoshi's voice it's so clean and smooth❤
next time, can we put DK and Seungkwan as top 1? for me, there are some aspects wherein DK exceeds SK and vice versa.
@@JS-st8pp hi would do you mean with resonance? Would you put dk in the average category and sk in above average?
@@keeks4914
Resonance is basically the amplification of the volume the voice it is a full open and rich sound.
Well,a vocal trainer rank him higher than Dino and lower than Scoups.
But anyways, they compliment each other, their voice blended so nicely and i live for it
Tbh all of them can sing. Even the rappers line can sing very well.
This was a great ranking, I agree with a lot of your reasoning!
However, I just wanna let you know that Exo’s DO is actually a tenor, not a baritone. His mixing is more chest dominant than most tenors in kpop, but his range sits much more comfortably in a tenor area.
oh my bad :'D i thought do was a baritone or maybe he's been excelling as a tenor. as expected our king
I really love hoshi voice
Dokyeom is untouchable specially when he entered into musical. He is way up there.
we need an updated 2023 version because a whole bunch of them have improved like Dino!
PEOPLE TALK ABOUT JUN'S VOCAL OMG I LOVE YOU GUYS👉👈🥺😭
don't get me wrong. i LOVE seungkwan and i understand why he is in 1st. but something in dokyeom pulls me unto him. i love his vocals for (this is in my opinion, it doesn't mean i hate seungkwan's singing voice) but seokmin's technique is just WOW. he can slay a musical if pledis lets him. he has GREAT control over his voice and doesn't push it unlike most artists and then strain. seokmin doesn't do that. it feels like he has trained his vocals for a VERY long time that his techniques are all so good. and god, the way he can change his chest voice unto falsetto and etc. his singing ability... just wow.
wonwoo my baby and also i feel like techniquewise jun may be higher than dino and joshua maybe over hoshi but im also not a singer but yea lol but thx
Support
Yess jun getting better and better I think he will gonna cut most of the member in vocals
booseoksoon fr out here all in the top 4,, power trio
choosing between seungkwan and dokyeom is so hard for me since they're my top 2 and their golden voices are the reason why i became a carat almost 5 years ago.
but looking at them now, i think it's safe to say that dokyeom would be number one when it comes to vocal ranking based on music technicalities, simply because being casted AND recasted as a musical actor really solidified his position as a power vocalist. his improvement over the years is amazing because seungkwan actually had better technique before-dokyeom used to strain his voice a little when singing higher notes. but ever since he got (i assume) vocal training outside pledis for his musical, he drastically improved. his voice has gotten more expressive and wider in range with better pitch accuracy. his high notes are better sustained and supported so he doesn't excessively strain his chords anymore. his voice was already stable before but his breath control improved even more, making him the most stable live. and my favorite improvement of all is dokyeom's resonance. his voice is stronger and supported straight from the diaphragm, making it travel very far, thus the reason why you can always hear his voice loud and clear despite thirteen members singing (people say its because he has a loud voice, but it's all technique). another notable technique is how clean and well-supported his chest voice-falsetto-head voice transitions are.
oops i word-vomited-i just pay a lot of attention to seventeen and their vocal techniques lol, and i also want to let people know about dokyeom's incredible improvement. at the end of the day choosing between booseok just depends on your vocal color preference.
MY FAVE IS DK. I'M SO INLOVE WITH HIS TONE AND VOICE COLOR. HIS VOICE SOUND LIKE A CRYSTAL CLEAR. BUT WITH SEUNGKWAN, I THINK HE CAN SING IN HIGHER NOTES THAN DK.
I really like Seungkwan’s voice and THE KING CHEN LIKES TOO
i like both seungkwan and seokmin voice but in my own opinion i like seungkwan voice when he sing in lower key than at higher key. And i feel like woozi and seokmin fit higher note well. Who agree with me🥱
just came by to say that dino is the future of kpop. also stan hoshi for clean skin.
For me, I'd put seungcheol higher cuz he CAN sing very well and has a good technique and clear voice. But judging on SVT's songs, and his position as a rapper his vocals isn't really the priority to shine but DAMN if given the chance this man can give IT.
Seungkwan's voice makes my everything feel pain, like you know what i mean? Boo is so lovely, his vocals are my favourite amongst all kpop groups.
fun fact: Seungcheol auditioned as a vocalist (and got accepted for it)
It's 2024 and pledis still use falsettos for shua, Jun and Jeonghan, even though shua already showed how powerful his voice can be in 2 minus 1😔
They're all really talented, though. There aren't a lot of groups where even the rappers sing as well as Seventeen's rappers do
I'm sorry but i think you're only basing your analysis whether a member is a tenor or a baritone based on their tone alone (high pitchy tone or deeper rich one). But vocal classifications are more than just like that. It also involves the range they're capable of and their passiaggio (transition between vocal registers such as chest, mix, head voice).
okay
hellow, fellow carat! i listed their tone as it was really important, but it was only for classification. say for example, he may be a baritone but such techniques and skills made him excell, or a tenor being the same. :)
@@kweenkwon5031 i didn't meant to say that tones are not important. What I'm saying is vocal classifications are far beyond distinguishing tone (whether high or low) itself. No hate towards you though😘
Yeah this arrangements are messed up for me hehe sorry
I’m not really their fan, but I just want to compliment DK’s voice because he’s so stable. I would say he’s the member that has the most stable voice.
@Aurelius Like I said, I dont really know Seventeen members in details so you don’t have to take seriously of what I said.
i agree with yours almost entirely but in my opinion (PLZ DONT @ ME ITS REALLY UNPOPULAR- CRIES) jun should be higher. i honestly believe that jun is one of the top seven vocalists and could easily be lead vocal. idk it just sounds like an angel’s voice to me, but i can see why you would rank him so low. other than the technique problem, almost everything seems good to me- but technique is a big thing (why i say 7 not like 5 or something). i feel like he’s about the same level as jeonghan and jisoo and soonyoung. once again, i love your ranking and respect it and you’re a queen (i love your videos 😔🥺) hehe that’s all i had to say-
Yeah...i agree.
Jun voice is feels like a miracle.☺️
He should be higher😔
Yess jun voice is great and attractive but lacks in technique
all jun needs to do is to practice singing more, since he merely focuses in dancing. he'd totally be as high as jeonghan if he improves :)))
@@kweenkwon5031 i do agree he need to practise more.
I love shua's voice uwu. It's perfect for what Filipinos call harana. Serenading your love ❤ the feels😍
I know nothing about technique, but I really like dk’s voice idk it just sounds so clean. They’re all good vocalists though and idk maybe I’m biased because DK is one of my bias, along with Jun, dino and hoshi and sometimes everyone
DK was my bias since start and he’ll always be my bias
wow good explanation uwu I agree with you!!
like everyone in seventeen is good at everything, I'm crying 😭😭 they are so perfect and deserve more than anything
thank u!
@@kweenkwon5031 yw!!
Remember that higher belting doesn't necessarily equate to better technique.
i’d change some rankings but you gave really good explanations for everyone great video!
Appreciate it, but I personally think The8 deserves a higher rank. His voice, as soft as is sounds is really stable, and even if it's not that powerful I think he rocks it in his own way heheheh
2021's update : Joshua shows us another type of voice daamm couldn't imagine that his voice could turn like that.. i lowkey love it

Can I ask what song was Woozi singing?
It's Seventeen's vocal unit song called "Second Life". It's in the An Ode album :D
I really love jihoon's high note part there
Tbh i don't feel like any seventeen member is a baritone maybe wonwoo but the rest just seems to be just chesty and underdeveloped tenors who carry mich weight in their voice cuz they lower their larinx and get a thicker sound, similar to ryujin from itzy who is a chesty soprano.
How dk have the best technique in seventeen when seungkwan can support up to A4 and resonate up to G#4?
Genuinely asking
Btw dk support up to F4/F#4 if i'm not wrong.
ive heard that wonwoo is a chesty and underdeveloped tenor, like what you said in the 2nd part of the first sentence
also how would you rank seventeen?? the only thing im 100% certain with is the fact that seungkwan is better than dk 😅😅
@@falsefaithyx whatever his vocal colour,i still loves his vocal colour the most.
Although I'm a Seungkwan bias I'm gonna disagree with some parts. Seokmin (more than 3 octaves) has wider vocal range than Seungkwan (about 3 octaves). They both have unique voices and colours which seventeen is able to make the best of
in every seventeen rank, their lead position just can be the main in other group!
Wonwoo really has potential as a good vocalist. He has a good vibrato, technique and he's confident tok.
Thanks for sharing your opinion!

Kim you listing Woozi above DK invalidates your whole list.
don’t forget that woozi is producer/composer and when it comes to techniques I’ve to place him above anyone else
I’d like to re-correct my ranking now: 1.seungkwan, woozi and Dk ties 2.Hoshi 3.Jeonghan 4.Dino 5.Jun 6.Joshua 7.Minghao 8.Wonwoo 9.The rest
@@Kim-ek6ly that doesn’t make sense
@@tj.8924 Its her opinion. You dont have to agree.
i LOVEEE when wonwoo sings :)) i think its so pretty and soothing.
the only reason i prefer dk is because of vocal color. i think range make seungkwan technically better but dk’s voice and more masculine and emotive whereas seungkwan has a airier and prettier and almost theatrical voice. although not effortless like dk’s is, seungkwans voice is profound. in any other group dk would be the best by a mile but seungkwan is just insane. my favorite voice is actually hoshi but not
U explain it very well
YOU JUST PUT JAEHYUN IN THE INTRO AND WWAAOOOOOOO😍😍😍 my bias
uwu

Objective rank
1. Dk
2. Seungkwan
3. Woozi, hoshi
4. Jeonghan Joshua Dino
5. Jun wonwoo scoups

7. Wonwoo
8. Seungkwan
9. Vernon
10. The8
11. Mingyu
12. Joshua
13. Jeonghan
I don't actually think Mingyu is a baritone, I think he's an underdeveloped tenor. Similar story for Vernon. (D.O also isn't a baritone, if we look at his tessitura/passagio he fits neatly into tenor. He just has a richer tone than most pop tenors)
I wonder what's Wonwoo voice type
@@oncelife6771 i think wonwoo is a genuine baritone. He has the deepest voice in seventeen and unlike Vernon, he has more experience singing. His "potential" as a traditional kpop vocalist is mostly hampered by his voice naturally not lying within the range of most pop songs which means he needs to mix/go into head voice on lower notes than his groupmates.
If he were to develop into a more vocal focused member i think he'd end up taking a similar path as Taehyung in BTS, very focused on developing a strong head voice/falsetto so as to not have to lower the melody of svt's songs with the occasional low melody line for dramatic effect (something SVT has already done is Smile Flower)
this is why my very first bias was seungkwan 5:11😍 and now it's all them😣

I respect all of it and for me Minghao is also great singer it's just that he doesn't get a lot of lines cuz he's not from the vocal unit...I watched many videos of him singing and my Favorite is his song 'Falling Down' and I really can't believe that I really cried when I first saw and heard his performance to that song...And I agree that his voice doesn't fit strong parts because of his soft voice.
for me, i'd put Mingyu on higher just listen to his solo "like the beginning"
I CRY EVERYTIME I LISTEN TO IT
hello, I was a chorale member, and stating “tenor” or “baritone” would be misinterpreted because in fact in the choir/chorale, males are divided into 6 categories:
• Tenor 1
• Tenor 2
• Baritone 1
• Baritone 2
• Bass 1
• Bass 2
This is in order from higher to lower range. I also have a background in playing Piano so I know the notes all along and I decided to have a ranking based on what note/s they CAN hit or sang naturally.
1. Seungkwan - Tenor 1
2. DK - Tenor 1
3. Woozi - Tenor 1
4. Hoshi - Tenor 2
5. Joshua - Tenor 2
6. Jeonghan - Tenor 2 (but could be baritone due to his pitchy nasal voice)
7. Jun - Tenor 2 (lacks of control but he has wide range of voice)
8. Dino - Tenor 2 (has a wide range of voice and very natural chest voice)
9. Wonwoo - Baritone 1
10. The8 - Baritone 1 (mistakenly as tenor as what you’ve said but he’s natural key of his voice color is
D/E [hear 1:05]
11. mingyu - baritone 1/2
12. vernon - bass 1
13. s.coups - bass 1/2 (okay but he has very good voice even he has a low range, as long he’s stable and that’s fine ‘cause he looks hot when singing low-range notes)
that’s all, this is only my interpretation and feel free to discuss if u have something to object or to agree upon :))))
oh hello! thanks for commenting facts, i really needed more learnings about tenor 1/2 and etc since all i learned were the basics, i was super confused with jeonghans at first since there are times were his tone is baritone lmaoooo T_T
yeah, but it’s perfectly fineee!! i just thought to do this comment because I was so confused at first hahahah nothing to worry about-it’s just that (maybe) keys & tone are misinterpreted by many :)))
This is super helpful,thanks
are you 100% sure jun is a tenor? some people in the comments say jun is a baritone and he's nasal just like jeonghan :/
he could pass as baritone tho, but as what like i stated, he lacks of control, he has a wide range of voice. Jun uses his head voice so often, but when he sings in ballad, his chest voice is literally an angel. Same as Jeonghan.
I'm putting Dk over seungkwan tho. Dk sound a lot stable and use less force to achieve it
Pledis let Seventeen have a chinese debut please I beg youuuuu
Then I can hear Minghao and Jun sing more😭😭😭😭
