You dudes are great, glad I found your channel! I’m curious to know your opinions - what do you think is a “good” number for a board game collection and why? Obviously it’s totally subjective, and I think I tend to settle on about 100 myself, but I’d be interested to hear your guys’ opinions!
I'm approaching the 100 mark and definitely at the point where I'm hitting the brakes and considering future purchases. We all know people with huge collections but the reality of that is things can go unplayed for years so just take up space. Of course if you're able to get everything to the table then go for it 😃
My man! Thanks so much, we really appreciate the comment! It's a fantastic question and you know it's kind of hard to say, I think between us me and Matt have 300 or so games, probably more, but I've trying to cut it down a lot and sell some. 100 is a nice round number for sure, but if I'm REALLY TRULY honest with myself, I could cut to 50 of my absolute favourite games and be happy replaying them ad infinitum. We'll definitely chat about this in next months show :)
The new format is great. If you guys have a shorter discussion topic that doesn't need a full length video it can go in here. There is a lot of freedom with this format. Congratulations to Hachette on securing MicroMacro. I can sympathize with Matt when it comes to updating BGG, the time I do it is when I do a top 100, because I export my games to the PubMeeple ranking site. I can't speak for Expeditions, but reprinting Kramer games from the 90s is working out well in general. Big Boss being as good as it is has probably earned my attention any time his old games are reprinted. The Dune comment is interesting. I've finally seen a few people flip back to Imperium, although the vast majority of people still favour Uprising. Interestingly, the people that prefer Imperium have a very high number of plays and they're all used to playing with all of the expansions. Even one of the people that does prefer Imperium said Uprising was better base game vs base game, but with all expansions plugged in, he prefers Imperium. There is another expansion upcoming, so it'll be interesting to see how that plugs in. The other thing that's interesting this year is the World Series of Board Games is swapping Imperium for Uprising, so people will be able to see how Uprising does in a competitive situation. 99% of my games of Dune are on the app, so I'm just happy I get to play with an expansion now.
Ah thank you BGC! Appreciate it, the format means we can be a bit more flexible with the rest of our content schedule as well, it fulfils a few things but it's only worth doing if you, the people, enjoy it and it gets dem views. Kramer games being reprinted is always a good bet, next big one on my radar is of course, Tikal Legend. It's definitely interesting how players with tons of games under their belt prefer imperium, but I think for the average gamer who'll get to play it a handful of times per year, Uprising is still our pick.
Hello there! Although they have some similarities I think they could both have a place in your collection! Harmonies have more similar mechanics to Cascadia in my opinion. :)
Nie wiem jak Was znalazłem, ale dobrze się bawię.
❤
Haha, thanks! Glad you're having fun here :)

Damn! that was awkward, wasn't expecting to be called out like that. 😬😳
Hahahahaha sorry mate, it was too good not to!
The Sunday paper
Nice! We'll add it to the list of suggestions! Cheers Ed!
Do you think if I have Azul, would Harmonies be redundant?
Thank you

As Matt said below! It's more similar to Cascadia so it would fit nicely alongside Azul
