    How long do your dip manis last? 💕

    • @Manda698
      @Manda698 Год назад

      I usually get them done instead of doing them myself. Two weeks, then they start fracturing and cracking.😬

      @@Manda698 sounds like you might need an apex or more layers 💪🏼

      I have tried gel, dipping. Different products, prepping, you name it. Only acrylic nails have lasted weeks. But your videos are so educational. I will try all your tips and tricks. Thanks!! I’m hopeful.

    Great information. I have Graves’ disease it is a thyroid disease. My nails peel crack spit. Doing my nails help to protect them. I really need to do my nails. I just don’t feel good enough to do them. I am having a hard time bouncing back from the surgery. Thank you for your videos. Have a great weekend.

    For me the main thing that makes my nails last and not pop off is building an apex even in very short nails. I am quiet rough on my hands and have a physical job and this is the main thing that has helped me keep my nails on for week and weeks.

      I have a manual labor job. I did my dip powder for the 1st time & they lasted 4wks, no lifting @ all. I’m in love. I built up my apex, plus I have like 6-8 layers before I start to file & buff. It’s soooooo worth the extra time & dips.

    I just tried Revel Nails dip system and taking the advice of many applying in a thin layers...it dries almost instantly! UGH! 😡 So I need a bit more product on the brush so it doesn't dry immediately. The current mani I just did was my 3rd dip mani. I have experienced lifting within 2 days of my application, I did use a base coat/nail strengthener first. So I assume that's why I get lifting, but I am trying to grow my nails out so I don't want dip directly on my natural nail because using acetone on yoir nails damages them. People also say "use cuticle oil after application to help strengthen your nails" but I have oily skin so I don't want to use cuticle oil because I think it also causes lifting...I am frustrated and don't know what to do. I am very good about prep and I use isopropyl alcohol to clean my nails after prep. Any ideas? Thanx!

    @SipAndDip thank you so much for this explanation on liquid control! Your demonstration helped me so much! Would it be possible to include something like that for top coat in a future video? I really struggle with no flooding my cuticles and sidewalls when doing the “3 quick strokes” of the top coat

    • @SipAndDip
      @SipAndDip  Год назад +1

      Absolutely 🫶🏻 I am so glad you found it helpful! I do have a few dedicated top coat videos. I would say, for the first layer don’t worry so much about getting a complete and full coverage. Do your best to avoid your skin with a thin layer for the first coat. But the second coat you can be more detailed and slower moving. For some reason, I find that the brush will harden if you over manipulate it or finagle it on the 1st layer. That’s why I always stress not to over do it. But once that’s down, the 2nd layer can be much more precise!

    Thank you this was very informative, I just want to clarify if i should just lightly buff new growth and use a dehydrator on the whole nail instead of buffing the whole nail(thats been previously buffed)? And if you have naturally thin flimsy nails would rubber base help with dip not lifting. Thanks Chelsea i love your videos!

    My lifting solution was solidify, and making sure o was diligent in adding several layers of solidify, letting it dry in between applications. Once I did that, the lifting stopped…and I don’t see it start until during week 2, and even then it’s very minimal
