If you're referring to the black station wagon, the one thing he did wrong was driving at that speed around a school bus, but having observed closely that clip since I was curious, the bus driver had deactivated the stop and other warning signs, which is why the car passed them. The kid was in the wrong, as were about 90%of the kids in the video that literally ran across without regard for anyone or anything.

However, from a very young age we're all told to look both ways before crossing over and over. As children we don't usually care about any of it until something like this happens or until we're old enough to fully comprehend the importance of not wanting to get hit by a car VS the probability of it happening while crossing. Kids are kids and will almost never really pay attention, but it doesn't mean that they don't know better. They more often than not do. I can even say that teens are equally as likely to not care since it's typically when they're at a rebellious point in their life. Not all, of course, but certainly more than there should be. Point is, in most of those clips the children leapt before they looked and almost paid the price. In that particular clip, the bus should have also kept the light on. But who knows?
