- Chainsaw Man Anime is in the news recently for all of the wrong reasons as a fan petition has been created to remake the entire first season. It cites bad music, voice acting and much more which is definitely a questionable take. I decided to rant on the dangerous precedent this can set going forward and talk about the points that were made in the petition.
What do you think? Should Chainsaw Man be remade or is it fine as is?

For me the anime adaptation is a solid 8/10 . Honestly, the only problem or incovinience shall I say, that I had with the adaptation was the dull colours and overall the anime art had a watercolor style effect. But I didn't have problem with the actually drawing style. Just the dull colors. Also the fights I felt were a bit too manga accurate. As in no filler or additional action was mixed in. What I mean is that. Take One piece Wano arc for example. If the fight with Kaido was completely manga accurate it would lack the grantness and would feel short. This is the case not just for OP but for most great anime with action. I feel like filler when done right can improve a show. This is an extension of the fact that an anime when done right can surpass the manga. Filler mixture is especially true when it comes to action scenes. In CSM that was not the case. Except for the finale fight with Katana man the rest of the fights were very short and felt like it was ripped straight from the manga WIth little to no filler. I am not a fan of filler but when it comes to action, filler action when mixed with canon action can make it better. I'am not a action genre d*ckrider. Action isn't even my most favourite genre. But I am just pointing out what I felt could've been improved. That being said I still don't want the anime to be remade. I don't support the petition and to be honest some of the things in the petition are just stubborn nitpicks. I don't mind CGI. The voice acting was great. Personally I preferred if they just made it 30 episodes and adapted the entire part 1. Instead of this short season take. But that's just my take on it.

solid 8/10, that shi barely 7.0 after you watch the manga, w/o reading manga, this is one of the most disappointed show in anime history, with all the hype and money and they just pull up this shi? man Bron got beat by 32 years old dirk is even better

I'm split on MAPPA. I 100% acknowledge that they have high quality animation as a whole. It's extremely smooth, detailed, and overall well produced. But just something about their style, specifically the way they draw characters, mainly their faces, just looks off to me. It gets worse when they use CGI. The people that say the animation looks bad though, they're just wrong. 95% of the time, they mean to say it's not their preferred style at least from what I see when they argue against the animation.
@@turbosnail6119 i get that and kinda have that complaint as well but its mostly in my cases during fights and when the character isnt the main focus but the fight as a whole
They've done a fantastic job with the anime so far. Can't wait for them to adapt more of the manga.

In my opinion I have a theory:
Maybe some of they haven't read the manga, and maybe they think that the anime is just punching, punching, blood, blood, fighting, etc, and not always some manga aren't always about that, maybe they don't know how to appreciate something with patience or something
or maybe they must have hated the cgi
people really want it to be remade when it JUST came out? please say sike. touch some grass jfc

Yeah it's due to how large the fanbase is rn before now it's even bigger and that's obviously gonna attract a lot of haters or fake anime fans in general with their toxicity just to spread more negativity smh.
Your storytelling is great and I really enjoy your stories please continue. As a marketer things take some time to have traction but once you start and identify what makes you grow you can explode any moment. Continue and know that you have a fan base 😊 頑張ってください！❤
I mean the cgi was kinda off but honestly it was a great anime but REMAKE IT?? Nah these haters need to sit the hell down
One of the critisism for the petition was the "sound effect of the chainsaw". Honestly how privileged and nitpicky can they get. Atleast when they get this nitpicky think about the animators who're been put through hell. They said none of the music was memorable as well💀
@Abhijith Well, the Japanese fans aren't wrong about the anime adaptation. I dropped the anime because it felt off. Ryu Nakayama, the director for Chainsaw Man, adapted a serious tone Chainsaw Man, removing the humor and gag in the manga. I never read the manga. This is just what I read from an article. It is Ryu Nakayama first time ever directing a TV show, and although he tried his best, either the story is terrible, the adaptation is terrible, or both. "Sound effect of the chainsaw" is a valid criticism. I remember back when Black Clover was going to be adapted to an anime, I was disappointed by Asta's yelling. That made many Westerners talk poorly about Black Clover without giving it much of a chance. So yes, it is valid to want to hear an insane sound of a chainsaw for an action anime. As for the music, they were referring to the background music. Unforgettable or not exciting. The animation is praiseworthy, but they didn't like the excessive realism and eroticism of the animation. Japanese fans were expecting an anime that is both serious and funny. Instead, when I watched it, I was annoyed by the tones of the show. There was nothing funny at all in the hotel episode. I can see how Denji sleeping is used as humor, but I was more bored out of my mind by the whole episode, and the characters were just annoying. I did like Aki out of all the characters in the anime.

It's pretty above average anime that CGI in fights is bit off but not so bad.
The main thing that killed it is over hyped, my expectations were so high that i am way more pissed because of those CGI. I wish I had never heard of it, i might enjoy it more.
The anime for me is a 9/10 for me the animation the voice acting the little things to details heck the cg that people whined about was actually solid the soundtrack was great my only gripe tho is sometimes the soundtrack felt repetitive to me lol like I wanted more different ost in the anime. But to petition a remake that's crazy if anything I'd petition a Berserk remake or Tokyo ghoul,toriko ,Rosario vampire,air gear ,kenichi Etc. Chainsawman adaptation was amazing it's like watching basketball ball you got the prime plays like Micheal Jordan lebron etc Mappa went all out on this anime. They deserve all the praise flowers etc even with upcoming stuff like Jujutsu kaisen s2,Vinland saga s2,Hells paradise and lastly Attack on titan final part.
yes, the manga was good, def over 9.0, no way the anime rated over 8.6 on imdb; the anime just beyond disappointing

I saw the first season and they get the characters 100%. the animation is also great. I still miss the golden 90s level of quality but at least chainsaw man, dorohedoro and ds mugen train rock about as hard

i loved the anime but i don’t really understand why they put so much quality into the endings. I can’t memorize them all and they could’ve used that budget for the actual show. almost like the endings had more effort than the actual show.

EDIT: 1:13 When he is saying "forgettable music" he is talking about the music in the actual anime...not endings and openings!
The only song that I liked is the one in that episode 3...when Denji comes back after the soundwave attack.
I didn't even listen to the ending songs...I don't care about the songs that are not even in the anime.
There was genuine bad anime they NEED a remake because they totally fukked the season and we will never get another one if they change the one season they can totally change the whole show for people.

I bet you these are the exact same people that shit on AoT's last two seasons and caused the director to be suicidal. MAPPA has consistently adapted and produced anime at a rate that no other studio has done, and yet people still find a reason to complain.

The anime is alright.
It’s not a good anime. Art style aside I don’t mind the cgi or anything. But the story progression and world building I feel is very bad imo. The manga is amazing but the anime cuts out specific scenes where I feel like it really helps in the world building and story. My gf wanted to watch the anime w me after i finished the manga but she couldnt even really tell what was going on and got bored super easy. I even thought that if I didn’t read the manga in advance I wouldn’t continue the anime because I don’t think it’s very good

12 ending songs doesn’t mean they are good songs. The opening is fire! But I can’t remember any of the end songs or any songs during the show

Chainsaw Man character is the worst part of Chainsaw Man anime. Most of the story and characters are interesting except for the main one.
This is infuriating. I love chainsaw man… from the manga to the anime and back again it’s just incredible so well made so beautiful and tragic I love it. So why the hell are people trying to take the perfect adaptation away from me????!!! Yes I called it perfect ok? It’s not getting another so we should love the one we have and I personally believe this is next to flawless execution from mappa so I’m praying that the people who signed that are just trolls and people who are joking
(Also I’m sure almost everyone here wants a season two to be released quickly right? They aren’t gonna release one at all if the show gets cancelled from hate!)

i don't read manga but chainsaw man season 1 felt like a reskin of jujutsu kaisen

To be honest the music wasn’t great, which is surprising as the artists are all great… some of their worst works. Especially Kenshi, I just don’t think the OP was his style and he’s one of my favourite. The CGI was also disgusting in some of the scenes, It’s strange that Mappa had to use CGI for an anime that had more trailer views then shows like Jujutsu Kaisen which didn’t use CGI. Jujutsu Kaisen looked far better because of that choice. I honestly don’t care that it allowed for the non-fight scenes to look better as the non-fight scenes are not important in a battle manga. I’m not the biggest fan of CSM anyway, I don’t like the rushed ending, the fact that the characters are completely uninteresting and basically just bodies to further Denji’s story and how the villain (Makima) is kind of meh, she isn’t a master manipulator, her ability is the only thing that allowed her to to get away with what she did. It’s also embarrassing that half of the government and devil hunters were suspicious of her from the start… just shows how weak she is as a manipulator when her abilities don’t work on them. I also hate how all the side-villains are nothing but they’re devil, we don’t learn about any of their pasts apart from one and they are all defeated in a few chapters. also think the fighting and combat scenes in the manga are lacking, they are not fluid, hard to follow and they end extremely quickly. This isn’t like JK when a fight will last multiple chapters. Even the final fight is very short, unless you count Denji coming up with a plan and him meeting up with Kobeni as Real CSM. The manga is just okay, don’t even think it’s close to the top of shonen.
The dialogue in the manga is also pretty awful with characters alway revealing to much when talking… this is extremely prevalent in part two. I understand the excuse for this is wackiness but I don’t think that justifies it.
Edit- I consider it a battle manga, mangas that need fighting for the story to flow is a battle manga in my opinion… any manga that has scaling is a battle manga. I consider Vagabond, Berserk etc battle mangas as well.

The anime adaptation was "okay". Its a good adaptation, has its own style. But the biggest problem is the story/manga itself, which isn't gonna be solved for an anime adaptation

@@skyguyflyinghigh I don't think i'ts "So bad", I just think it's not anything spectacular or that hyped as people made it seem. Which creates the opposite effect and ends up making you think less of it than it is.
I don't like the art, the character's. The story was lacking up until half the part 1, which was what the anime covered up. Other than that, I just think people ended up liking it so much due to being an edgy manga of a living chainsaw.
As for the anime, the style was a hit-or-miss. There were a lot of quiet scenes, the soundtrack was also missing when needed. CGI was there, made it kinda weird sometimes to look at. Overall, nothing memorable and pretty forgettable

as someone who's worked in mental health and been in a similar position to denji... it's not just being edgy for the sake of it, his mentality is 100% real and far deeper than most anime protagonists if you actually knew how to read and empathize, yeah, people die out of nowhere because that's how life is, gory shit happens out of nowhere cause that's how life is, sure we don't have devils but everyone given their backgrounds acts 100% more realistic and understandable than countless protagonists.
also the anime ? what do you mean by the style ? it has the same style barring the endings. and a lot of quiet scenes ? that's a common thing with some of the highest rated moves of all time, and fujimoto is a massive movie nerd forgive him for not being cookie cutter bullshit. calculated silence can accenctuate something harder than more noise. quiet scenes are necessary to make a better story, dude im literally on adderall for ADHD and even i could tell you that. quiet scenes are a great tool.
cgi wasn't perfect imma give you that but cgi isn't an automatic death sentence from it being included, it looked good more often than not considering most people couldn't even tell when it was or not. despite it's funky moments.
people like you just wanna hate on shit that's popular so you can feel unique and special after watching 1 episode without giving it a chance from the first second but have no criticism other than surface level shit cause you don't dislike the content, you just want to be known for disliking it and be a part of the 'counter-culture' to feel important and quirky.
