- I show off this 2021 Ford Mustang EcoBoost base model in Antimatter Blue! I've always thought the EcoBoost Mustang was a huge bargain, and for 2021 you get some new standard features! I would highly recommend getting the $2k 101a upgrade package though.

I still don’t understand why Ford doesn’t make the 8inch screen standard in the 21 and beyond mustangs despite if the customer is buying base model
Yeah I wish it was standard... I just got a new GT base model and it has the little screen 🤦♂️
Yeah mine is the base ecoboost model but it has the group 101 a package that has all the new safety features and the 8" touch display with dual climate control.

That video was a big help. I'm looking at ecoboost Mustangs and the base model review was great. There are alot of videos on HHp and Premium eco boosts. Which are great , but, not all people need or want all that extra stuff.

I purchased the same model last year, the 2020 velocity blue base model Ecoboost. I love most everything about it but the the small center screen obviously. Since I purchased it I was fortunate to get a nice pay increase so I plan on trading my Ecoboost in for the GT premium if I can get my way! I definitely recommend the Ecoboost to anyone, it's sporty, great looking, and has plenty of power for the road on a daily basis!

I have the 2018 base model ecoboost, with wheel and stripe package and 101A tech package. Even with power cloth seats, the upgraded center screen and wheel and strut m stripe package I was able to drive off the lot for $28K. Since then, my only upgrades have been a custom exhaust, a strut tower brace and the Cobb stage 1+ package (CAI and 91 octane tune). Definitely no GT, but still a lot of fun on winding roads and road trips.

This car is a fantastic value for the money. Not everyone wants (or can afford) a Shelby or fully loaded GT. And the Ecoboost is no slouch by any means it’s plenty of power even if it’s not a V8. I just recently got a 21 Ecoboost premium race red with red interior and I absolutely love it! That blue tho is absolutely beautiful! You actually answered my question about the engine cover thank you so much I was thinking that the service department took it off and didn’t put it back on but nope no cover at all. Great video , tomorrow I will check out a ecoboost premium 2020 with 29k miles on it and see if I can get a good deal , prices for cars today are crazy high 😬
You might be better off getting a brand new one that’s heavily discounted than a used one. Definitely check new and used prices.

Great review man. I have a 2020 Eco Prem 101A Kona Blue. The AntiMatter looks a lot like Kona to me- maybe just a little more darker. I think its funny how Ford added some things and then took some away. Mine has the engine cover (sure makes it harder to get that dipstick back in when you can't see the hole), and I had to pay extra for the Safe and Sound package to get the adaptive cruise control and lane keep which are now standard as Copilot 360 on the 21's. I only wish mine had the BSM which I could only get by upgrading to the 201 package which I didn't want to pay that much more and now its standard too. Gas wise I'm averaging 27-28 with 90% freeway driving at cruising speeds of 80-85. Great car for me and Im happy with it. That tiny screen has got to go IMO. WTF Ford?!?!
I know! Haha. By the way, adaptive cruise isn’t standard on 2021s, it’s still an option.

My 2019 was $27k after the paint warranty, interior warranty and 100k mile warranty I was at $30k. Not having the paddle shifters is a big disappointment because I use them a lot for a little fun and to hear the pops out of my aftermarket exhaust due to being tuned by (Ford Performance). Ford gave me an insensitive to upgrade to a 2021 buuuut, looks like I’ll be keeping my beauty.
I don’t see any reason to upgrade because they’re the same car. I do like the added standard safety features though.
Good review, thank you. The next gen (S650) had better not have that 4" screen. That would have been outdated in the S197, never mind a brand new 2021!!! The lack of paddle shifters is a disappointment.......I never understand why Ford de-content cars towards the end if their generation! Keep up the good work on the videos :)

I have those same wheels on my 21 Mustang Ecoboost, it looks ugly on video but in person it grows on you after a while, just put red calipers and you’re all set.

I think Ford actually downgraded their 2021 because of inflating prices. No glovebox light, no light up usb port, no paddle shifters and more. Many little things were taken away to lower costs. Hopefully next gen or just in the future in general, Ford will make the ecoboost mustang an even better value.

I am looking at getting the 2021 ecoboost premium, is it worth getting the high performance package? I plan on getting it Cobb tuned so is there any point in doing the hpp?
As far as power is concerned, no it’s not worth it.
I was lucky enough to pick my 2020 ecoboost base with a six speed for 20,499.... yes, for that much. They closed the dealership I bought it from three months later. They were on very rough times.

That sucks about the paddle shifters!!! The whole reason I bought the base ecoboost without the 101a package was because of the ride quality. The car is my daily and coming from a 2013 Focus ST the ride was jarring because of the sidewall hight of the tires. Not to mention the base model with 17" wheels remind me of the Bullitt package of 2001. I own one of those as well... spoiler delete is a clean look and makes mustang heritage true to its roots. Great reviews... definitely enjoy the channel. Keep em coming.
I know, so dissapointing! The ride quality actually didn't feel that much different that mine with the 18" but I think it was a little better.
@@JVette01 I enjoy watching your car progress... I've never actually driven tbe 101a but the value is definitely an arguable selling point for what you are getting with the upgrade. Leaps and bounds about the base without it. Plus you get active exhaust. I ended up going after market and I am pleased but would never had, had too if they came with it on non 101a package Cars.

So weird theres a shark fin on there, on Ford's website when you don't have the 101a package it takes off the shark on the car's exterior, so strange. Hopefully they can fix that because that's confusing

My biggest frustration and concern is the price increases. I ordered a 2021 Mach 1 2 weeks ago 700A package with Mach 1 elite package and its 58k delivered and ill be lucky to have it by December.

@@JVette01 My Ecoboost was ordered last week and I just received the email today confirmation of when it will be produced, the last week of Sept and delivered by Late October! They confirmed everything needed for The build is available! They even sent me my VIN NUMBER!

I’m not sure. This is new for 2021 so aftermarket companies might not have a solution yet.

Yeah sorta. The trans might upshift mid slide so it will make for an unpleasant experience
I have an interesting question. I have a 2021 Ecoboost Base with the 101A package, auto trans, and spare tire. That's all the options. The seats are cloth and the dashboard is black like this one. Every time I enter my serial number the car is identified as an Ecoboost Premium. The state I live in, my insurance company, the place I bought a steering wheel from, Kelly Blue book, and Car Max all say it's 2021 Mustang Ecoboost Premium. If you look at used car sites you'll see a lot of base models listed as Premium. Curiosity is getting to me. Anyone know what's up?

i have one just like this with upgraded 18" wheels. this car is fantastic. its like having your cake and eating it too. if a 4 lunger can run this good, the v8 can retire.

Depends on how conservative you drive. If you do all highway and very light on throttle, its around 400. If you are in the city or have a lead foot, around 300
My manual transmission 2018 is lightly modded (CAI, COBB OTS tune, custom exhaust), and it’s my DD. I average 24 mpg or better in city driving, but usually mixed is about 26-28 mpg. Highway is usually 30-32 mpg. Average range is about 420-460 miles, even with the occasional hard acceleration.
As they say, your results may vary. If you drive it as a daily driver (spirited, but not lead footed), you can get similar numbers.
That’s strange I have the same 2021 base ecoboost mustang and I bought it new it came with the large touchscreen with satellite radio dual climate control and full power seats everything that this one in the video doesn’t have mine does have and it’s still a base model. Mine has the alloy wheels and with my rims there painted to match the body color on the inside of the rims. My tires were also filled with nitrogen instead of air which the nitrogen holds a more stable pressure vs tires filled with air. My steering wheel has the smooth leather vs the grainy type leather my floor mats are like the ford version of weather tech floor mats. I have eight speakers not the six speaker style in the video. I have the select drive modes I love using sports plus with both traction control systems off and the steering on sports mode really like the paddle shifters. I like the ability of having a built in hotspot ability I can use without my phone. I swear mine is a base model. The sticker price with tax was like $31,428. I think. The dealership I got it from gave me a huge discount because my family is considered loyal customers we’ve probably bought eight different Fords between six people in the last six years and when we trade in they always come back looking really good and in the best mechanical condition. I’m a 22 year mechanic so that helps. OK now I see you with mine being the base it also has the 101A upgrade package on it. If I missed something he was talking about in the video just comment and I’ll get back to you.

@@JVette01 Yeah it has the collision avoidance system that'll stop you if somebody stops in front of you with the proximity radar it has the radar in the side mirrors if you try to change lanes and there's somebody there it warns you of course It's got the backup camera and the sensors back there and then eight airbags also the lane keep assist
Your correct it also does automatic braking if someone or something is in your way
Never had a Mustang 🐎. Had a 91 Formula back then. Wouldn't mind having that affordable one at all 👍 That infotainment screen is sad 😢 though...
I suggest getting the upgrade package or installing it after the fact!

Is the transmission rough? Before stop sign when stopping putting low gear and i hear scratching,grinding?
They make weird noises. It’s normal
@@JVette01 from P to R. And R to P. it’s l really loud grind. Using paddle shifting it takes 2 seconds to shift. Also when stopping on red from high gear it puts 1” gear to fast and feels grinding clicking

It can run on either regular or premium.. but premium will have a little more power so I’d go premium

Correct, you have to get a 101A or premium to have drive modes.

I got the 2021 and love almost everything about it. For me, the seat kills my back. Currently trying to find back support cushions that work with the seat. Also, there's a couple of small rattles throughout the car that annoy the heck out of me. Other than that I love it
Typical mustang rattles 😂 On power seat models, you have lumbar adjustment. Unfortunately the base doesn’t get that.
I think it might actually be a Ford thing.. I had a 2020 fusion and noticed the same thing.. I guess it doesn't bother most people.
You don’t hear it if you listen to the radio but it’s annoying when you’re driving in silence. Some have it worse than others and some have no rattles but it’s rare.

I'm so fucking frustrated with Ford for taking out standard stuff in previous years and making you charge extra for them in another package....Those paddle shifters being taken off kind of pisses me off. And its really frustrating to see you can't get the big touch screen standard....every other sports car has a touch screen that comes standard.....
I know... I’m hoping that Ford does a lot of improvements for the S650. I have a whole list of things I want them to improve.

I took a brand new Mustang 4 cylinder Eco Boost for a ride and I did not like it. I went over a rail road track and it was like
every part of the car came down at a different time. The ride was harsh and the steering was sloppy. A lot of vibration from
the engine gets into the cabin. The loud exhaust note gets old on the highway. When I cranked it up, when the fist cylinder
to fire cause the engine to hop/jerk into the run mode. It is just a sloppy ride. The dodge charger and challenger are
more refined. I think they need to quit making it. Most of the guys driving Mustangs are dudes with lot's of testosterone
but no chicks. What about the baled old men driving driving them too.

@@JVette01 Absolutely. It's standard equipment now on even the most entry level of cars. There's not a good reason for Ford not to have it as standard equipment as well.
