"You fear a dragon leagues away, while mine own sits outside your walls?" Such a perfect line. It's a vague threat, a reassurance and a complete disregard of their comment all at once. Jace is mastering diplomacy at a young age.

He died, because he desperately looked for his youngest brother Viserys. Viserys was captured by enemies from the Triarchy and that's probably why Jacaerys flew so low, he tried to find him. To be fair, it can take just one bad lord to ruin or raise a house. Freys were honourable looking here, but then Late Walder comes along and suddenly, refuses to commit his forces until the end of the rebellion, spawns far too many children, legitimate and illegitimate, becomes a known swindler, refuses to help his liege lord and just has an all around bad personality.
By contrast, Tywin Lannister's father was seen as something as a joke, an easy going man, a man who let the Tarbecks and Reyne's rob him blind without any fear of reprisal, let his daughter, Genna be married into a now disgraced family. All of a sudden, Tywin comes along, brings about the Rains Of Castamere, becomes Hand of the King to Aerys, annihilates the Targaryens in King's Landing, has dangerous men like Gregor Clegane in his employ and his daughter is made Queen. All the while commanding massive wealth and formiddable army. His hpuse went from one of ridicule and slander to one that even the most powerful families feared and thought twice about crossing.
