You guys are life savers. This is at least the second video from Western States Metal Roofing that has been a lifeline for this clueless DIY metal roofer. The manual and online material from the company I purchased my materials from is very basic and completely omits the finer points that you carefully explain and demonstrate. Many thanks.
C Norma, I appreciate the kind words and glad we could help. Good luck on your installation. If you need any additional videos, you can find them all in one place on the website www.westernstatesmetalroofing.com/corrugated-metal-roofing-installation-videos
the videos very helpful but in this videos i found a mistake that the head berge always be above fold of side berge.because side berge is down than head berge.
Hi,like the video's very much... I am doing a 16x30 lean to off of an existing pole barn with a 4/12 pitch. I am removing the existing facia board and tiying in to the trusses approximately 2 feet back. The pitch on the lean to is 3/12...how do I do the over lap of the old and new section of the metal roof ? Thanks so much.
Are you referring to a transition flashing (pitch break) ? If so we have a corrugated metal roofing installation playlist on the channel. There’s a video for high to low and low to high transition installation. Hopefully that will answer your question. Have a great Xmas
No. Gable trim is installed on the two sides of a building that do not have a pitch. Ridge cap or peak flashing is installed on the part of a roof that has a pitch. Gable is a 90 degree bend, ridge or peak flashing is bent to follow the pitch of the roof. Buy your peak trim from whomever sold you the metal panels. If they can sell you metal panels, then they can source peak trim for you.
I need to find peak trim, but every hardware store and big box store doesnt have it. They label a gable trim the same, but it isnt the kind meant for single slope roof.

@@WesternStatesMetalRoofing A DIY'r in Canada. I bought a metal roof for my son's lean-to shed and was Googling how to install the gable and peak trims. I don't, unfortunately, own your product, but did find the video to be excellent. Very clear and concise
How close to the top edge of your roof should the metal panels be? I'm currently building a lean to shed with a 15 foot long roof. I'm trying to figure out if two pieces of 8 foot metal sheets will be long enough given the overlap length wise.
Matt, Here is a written detail for this condition www.westernstatesmetalroofing.com/peak-high-eave-flashing-ws-19-corrugated-trim-flashings.html The metal panel will go to the edge of the wood substrate as shown in the detail. You will want a minimum 6" overlap on the corrugated panels themselves. Given you have 15' and two sheets at 8' you will be fine.

Great job easy to learn as I. Looking forward to build one.Thankyu for this vein.

I have a lean to house metal carport. I wanted to create a peak roof to make it look more symmetrical to my house. How do I do that?
Do you have hip cap where it connects at the top of the roof?

Is the High Side Peak trim component the same as the Gable trim or is it a unique profile? If so, what makes the profile different from gable trim?

Hi thanx, quick Q what Sealant do you use.
Novaflex silicone sealant
I'm having trouble finding peak trim for the roof I'm building. Where is a good place to find it? I am using it for the three rib panel roofing.
Your local sheet metal shop should be able to help you out. Better yet, if you're buying metal roofing panels, they can be purchased at the same time.

What double sided butyl tape is that? All I can find are flat tapes that don't have the "bead" on either side...
It's just a typical double sided butyl tape, Tape, 3/32"X3/8"X45' Roll

Great video. Very helpful. BTW, what cutters are you using? The bolts on mine get in the way about 2" into my cuts. Yours look much more effective
Thank you for the positive feedback.
