How the heck do you make that cut on the rake trim at the peak? I don't want to make a mistake and have to drive 4 hours round trip to buy another piece.
You would put the piece on the roof on one of the sides. Mark it exactly at the peak. Use a square to mark a line on the face of the metal that would be straight up and down from the peak to the ground. Take the metal off and cut that line. Cut that line all the way to the 45 and your metal will bend into place once you put it back on the roof.
I was wondering the same, and finally figured it out on my own. For anyone else wondering make a 90° cut center of peak and cut back the reveal side at whatever angle you roof rafters were. Mine was 50° so I did a 50 and 90 from the same pivot point, and for the roof side, make a mark on center and cut 45 each way going outward (only on angled and screwing flange) so the metal can bend and not interfere with itself.
What's wrong with screwing ridge cap at every rib rather than every other rib? Trying to a short cut here isn't recommended due to sudden wind gusts, etc..
Finally to this stage

@@EricFapton i kind of get what your saying it’s not you it’s me. can you show a video of you doing that cut on the ridge cap
That’s great but what about the end of the rake trim would you mind pointing me to a video that shows how to finish that?
I'm prolly gonna have to special order the trim for the roof cause no hardware store in my town has it.
Do you use the foam closures at the eaves if the building is insulated?
Did you not watch the video?
How moch does it cost
No butyl tape needed under rake trim on roof?
How did you make that cut on the rake trim at the peak? I see hthere was another question, however, without any reply
It seems he was using a pair of tin snips, maybe he cut it with that? Just my guess unless the piece came cut like that already
you just knotch the bottom and it bends. as simple as that

That top cap looked good but he didn't put corner trim up first😱

Where do floating ridge cap go
Need to show the thought process and method in doing the peak cuts . Other than that it’s ok
Cap should be turned down on ends
How can that guy isn't wearing a harness?
Often in the blue collar world practicality is the most important. Besides there is literally nothing for a harness to even latch onto
