    Yeah, it reminds me of the D-2 Stingtongue destroyer from the FASA Klingon Ship Recognition Manual.

      I had the same thought. I'd be surprised if there wasn't some inspiration there.

      A few games in the era seem to use a couple of designs inspired from FASA. I seem to remember either the Nintendo DS or Sony PSP had a simpler game than Legacy, but each Faction had a Scout, Destroyer, Light Cruiser, Heavy Cruiser and Dreadnought classes? And some where onscreen ships and some were clearly FASA inspired!
      😊😊😊😊
      This is the FASA D-2 except with the engines are lower I think.

      @@trynda1701 not familiar with those games but it doesn’t surprise me, the FASA designs, and the FASA game itself, were pretty iconic in their day.

    She looks a bit like a ship that a smaller house would invest in. When you've got the budget to get a huge ship with all the bling ... fine. However, a fleet of small and brutal strike craft which could do atmospheric work too might easily be in the budget of a backwater House or even a tribe of pirates... just a thought.

      Yeah, the D-2 destroyer for sure. I used 5to have a destroyer squadron of the miniatures for my FASA fleet

    I like it. Looks like a modern K't'inga. I just wish the name was more Klingon sounding.

    • @trynda1701
      @trynda1701 6 месяцев назад

      According to FASA - The class is named from the Klingon 'vkarzadan', which translates to “the tongue that stings”.
      Hence the Starfleet designation Stingtongue.

    so I was totally diggin this ship and like oh man that really works, then you went to the top view and I realized, its a N-1 starfighter. like wait a minute, I didn't know the Klingons had ties to Naboo

    You don't have to guess the era of these ships, the game separates them by era. If memory serves this is the ENT era Klingon "battleship"

    • @jordanreed3675
      @jordanreed3675 9 месяцев назад +2

      No it’s a tos movie era or lost era probably as a precursor as a vor’cha class cruiser

    • @sentinelghost1145
      @sentinelghost1145 9 месяцев назад +1

      What if it's a design that has been refit continuously acroos the eras, Started as a Late-ENT battleship then due to i'ts size (bigger than a D7) it became a TOS / TMP Battleship.

      In Star Trek Legacy I think it's 23rd century you can use it from. The ship is also in Star Trek encounters and Star Trek Conquest.

    there is a nigher poly model in the Star trek armarda 3 mod for sins of a solar empire, they also have a lot of great redesigns/own creations for the variouse factions in game, would be cool to see you have a look at those

    Interesting thought - movie era Raptor-type ship? It almost feels like it could be a source of visual inspiration for the Vorcha.

    The neck and the braces remind me of shock absorbers, like the neck endures significant kickback when the front disrupter fires. The forward neck recesses into the larger back neck when firing.

    did a upgrade on the d2 to the d2-c variation. added around 30,000 tons to it so she is now a baby class 8. at just over 100,000 tons. under the old fasa design rules. now this ship is orion built. so any component from any government is fair game. fasa lists length at 235 meters by 135 meters wide by 20 meters for height.
    upgrade computer to d-6, upgrade warp eng to kic-3 from kic-1, upgrade impulse to kif-2, cloaking device no change still kcc, this is where the orions come into play, shields, beam & missile weapons are federation. shields = fso, beams = fh-11-- 1 dual mount fwd - firing arc = f,p,s, 1 single mount aft - firing arc = a,p,s, missiles are fp-4, 3 tubes fwd - firing arc f,p,s, 1 tube aft - firing arc a,p,s, superstructure goes from 10 to 24. tonnage from 74500 TO 100365.

    Reminds me more of the Enterprise era (Which I think this is supposed to be) than it does the TMP era personally. with some design cues that slightly remind me of the Kelvin Timeline Klingon ship too.
    I think after a quick google search that there is a K'tinga like ship too (that is also a slight redesign) but I can't say I am at all familar with this game, like Samuel implicated before in a prior video this game kinda fell down the memory hole and got forgotten by a lot of people.
