I'd also say the Mogh class exhibits design philosophies from the Starfleet Defiant and Sovereign classes; likely based on Worf's personal experiences on those ships. Oh my, I'm in love! The Kurak looks so brutally effective. It's tied with the Vor'Kang as my favourite Klingon warship by pure looks alone. If the Vor'Kang looks like a crossbow, the Kurak looks like a hand-held disruptor, with blade wings❤
I think what you said at the end is perfect, a more methodical and professional way of waging war. Just like Worf. The cunning Warrior will always prevail. And while the Klingons may have stagnated a bit, I think Mogh is a wonderful design, a true return to form for a battered Empire. Nicely done.
One of the things that makes the STO original designs such a wonderful addition to Star Trek lore is the amount of thought and detail that goes into their designs. Even though there isn’t much hard canon on these ships, there is always something to read deeper into. Your interpretation of the Kurak-class’s prow as a sensor array made me think of the “Miracle Worker” arrays on the Gagarin-class. I initially thought of the Gagarin as primarily a warp and slipstream interceptor and pursuit cruiser purpose built for the role the Cheyenne fulfilled in the 24th century. The nacelle design and the cyclical slipstream drive convinced me of this, but your reading of the Kurak as an aggressive reconnaissance vessel made me think of the Gagarin’s affore-mentioned arrays and their similar placement. It might be possible that the Gagarin could also be designed for this aggressive recon role. Thanks for another video and keep up the good work!
Honestly its nice that its recognised that Mogh was an honourable man as were all of Worfs family. So, the Wiki says it has more firepower than the N'egvar, despite being smaller. I would actually believe that, since the Mogh is a much newer ship, that incorporates much newer technology and was designed to incorporate more advanced systems going forwards, while the N'egvar is decades old by the time of STO and was built at a time when Klingon technology was generally lagging behind the Federation, which to me puts a serious cap on how far you can upgrade and modernise it as a platform. It's the difference between trying to upgrade and modernise legacy aircraft, trying to keep pushing a platform from the 60's as far as it'll go, VS building a brand new next generation aircraft, that can do most things that the older aircraft could, but far more efficiently and has new capabilities that the old platform didn't have and could never have, no matter how hard you tried to push it.
In addition to all that, there's the fact that the Negh'Var was built to be as much a weapon of Terror and Intimidation as it was of War; the Big Scary Unknown hanging at the edge of the battle that you didn't want to engage, but also couldn't take your attention away from. While massive in size for its time, with the exception of its siege cannons, it was surprisingly undergunned...a dinosaur of Klingon wing formations and Always-Forward battle doctrine that completely lacked the speed and maneuverability to execute that doctrine.
We also know that that a smaller ship can pack a very very large punch as we see with the Defiant, so its not unfair to say that Worf applied some the same ideas that made the Defiant so powerful into the Mogh
@@digitalis2977 I am now imagining Colonel O'Neill holding up the Negh'Var and Mogh while discussing weapons. "This is a weapon of terror. It's designed to intimidate the enemy. THIS is a weapon of war. It's designed to kill the enemy."

In some of the books they hint at other species being incorporated into the empire. Especially if they put up a good fight. It's probably more a case of klingons being the most enthusiastic species about fighting so the other species naturally fill the other roles (merchants, scientist, workers etc). And in STO canon at least, they incorporate the gorn, orion, nausicans and "the cat" species into the KDF forces to some degree.

Fleet versions simply have more Hull and Shields plus an extra console slot. They do not have any inherent extra abilities. Indeed, they do not even come with the console or trait that the cash store versions do. In the Kurak's case, getting the cash shop version is a really good idea due to the Emergency Weapons Cycle trait. That will, in turn, unlock a discount (1 Fleet Ship Module instead of 5) for the Fleet version.

No. Klingons tend to lose pigmentation as they age (both in hair and skin.) The precedent was solidly set in both TNG and DS9 with the old Warriors and Masters featured in the various episodes...even the old women and nursemaids.

The only commonality between the Kurak and the Mogh is the middle piece of the nose section. Other than that they are completely different hulls. With it's thicker neck the lance could be a lot longer and more powerful, finally giving them the ability to fight from long distance
I thought the Borg wanted to join the federation. I think the final battle will be the Enterprise D- Titian A-& Voyager. They will end up needing saved. Who will come to their rescue but the other Borg who wants to join the federation. Who's going to be sacrificed? All the TNG crew. Not dead, but leaving on D for parts unknown
Is Star Trek online Cannon in the Venomverss
Just a source
MILOTAAAAAAAA
Are you ever going to do a romulan and earth fleet analysis like you did with the Vulcans and andorians?
Of the 22nd century... yeah I might revisiting that
Ok, cool, I’m not used to a creator actually responding to one of my comments.
Anyone know if any Star Fleet ships have siege guns? Or can they just use phasers the same way..?
Fleet versions simply have more Hull and Shields plus an extra console slot. They do not have any inherent extra abilities. Indeed, they do not even come with the console or trait that the cash store versions do.
In the Kurak's case, getting the cash shop version is a really good idea due to the Emergency Weapons Cycle trait. That will, in turn, unlock a discount (1 Fleet Ship Module instead of 5) for the Fleet version.
Could this be considered a “pocket battleship,” like the Deutschland-class?
Possibly though I'm not sure how you would define that within trek.
Venom Geek, does STO explore the other side of the Alpha & Beta quadrants? I'd like to know what is on the other side of what's left of the Cardassian Union and both empires.
I've don shipchats on both the cardassian Damar class and romulan aehlah class
@@venomgeekmedia9886 I saw them, and what you did on the Columbia and the Titan. I hoped the game have fleshed out both. Thank you.
Did they whiteface Worf in Picard?
No.
Klingons tend to lose pigmentation as they age (both in hair and skin.)
The precedent was solidly set in both TNG and DS9 with the old Warriors and Masters featured in the various episodes...even the old women and nursemaids.
Since a Klingon can live 150 years or better should not be showing white hair and face so I believe he is racist or a Michel Jackson fan trying to make a statement. LOL. Either way Dark Klingons and middle class young white Klingons that went to woke socialist Federation collages that had all honor brainwashed out them will try to sale you on the BS that only all white male Klingons and honorable white female Klingons that stand by their warrior are racist. LOL. Sounds like earth.
The only commonality between the Kurak and the Mogh is the middle piece of the nose section. Other than that they are completely different hulls. One is definitely not a version of the other They are more like the D4 and D5. Two complimentary designs. Please pay attention to the actual designs as an actual engineer would.
Worf-fare!😅
