I'm looking to do the same to my 2009 Mk6 golf 1.4 TSI. Am I right thinking it would be very similar as this Golf TDI is a MK6 also? Edit: just used your video and can confirm this is the same for Mk6 golf 1.4 TSI
So there is an easier way. If after removing the door panel, but not removing the connectors, you can use a soft seat stool or something like that to rest the panel on so you don’t have to disconnect anything on the panel, and it will keep it upright. Then remove the mirror connector from the door and swap mirrors.
Do you have something like this for a 2014 VW Passat? I purchased the mirror from you and I'm trying to see how to get the door trim off to replace the mirror. There is more electronics and trim pieces.
Thanks for this video. It really helped me replace my mirror. Some jerk was trying to charge me $500 to do it. Anyway, there was one more fasteners under my handle trim, maybe because mine is the Wolfsburg Edition? Not sure. Love you guys

Absolutely perfect video, even with an aftermarket mirror.
Excellent video! Just swapped my mirror out and this couldn’t have made it easier!
Amazing video. Such a calm and reassuring voice to walk you through the process.
