This was one of the BEST mornings I've ever photographed... I can't believe we got EXACTLY the conditions we wanted :D Can't wait to process my own photos and put the video together - it'll be EPIC!
These crossover videos between these friends always makes me appreciate the art of photography more. All these people are at the same place with the same conditions and they all shoot different pictures with their own stylistic flair. Makes me feel good when photographers aren't trying to capture the same shot as everyone else, but their own version of it instead.
If not out and about doing a bit of landscape phototrickery myself, there’s nothing better than relaxing with a nice cup of coffee and a Nigel RUclips video. Part of our Sunday morning routine! 😊
I've been watching since your very first episode. May I say, while your photos were very good, you've stepped up your game in a big way over the last couple of years? I hope someday to improve my skills as you have clearly done. In fact, you've become one of my favourite landscape photographers over the last few years. I also love that you show your entire photo much faster than others do. I always want to see the entire composition immediately and not a corner of it. Lastly, I like the work you do to get to the point. I've grown a little tired of B-Roll on some channels. OK, I sound like a complainer. I'm not. Blessed RUclips and people like you give people like me the opportunity to watch content we love. THANK YOU, Nigel. This was a very special episode IMO. Will watch the other blokes, too, as I do. :)
Everyone has their favorite photography RUclips channels. When I see Nigel Danson has a new video, I rush right over and watch. Always high quality content and great stories to go along too. Thanks for all that . . .
Honestly - this is my favourite of your videos, and I LOVE your channel so that's saying a lot. Such a superb location, and the long lens style is my favourite style of landscape photography. Thank you!
Nigel, these are incredible images! I follow you and Mads both, two of my favorite. Apart from learning from you both, what's most important for me is the great positive vibes i get when I watch these vdos from you guys. They make me forget the difficulties thrown up by life from time to time. Cheers to you & Mads. Thanks so much for wonderful vdos and images!
The great thing with the 100-400 besides being a stellar sharp zoom, allows points of interest in the image to be larger in the frame thus allowing much more detail where we want and need it! Wide angles have their uses but for me in landscapes less than many might imagine! Great stuff as always Nigel, thanks for sharing it with us! 👏👍
Great video & images Nigel, love to see people getting so passionate about light :-). Hope you enjoyed the remainder of your stay in Santorini it was lovely to bump into you & your family, Rich.
Great video with epic conditions. You certainly seem to be moving better and I hope your progress continues. It really is great to see you out and about again.
Stunning - as you said "simply does not get better than this." Thanks again Nigel and great to see you out & about more & more - even if at a slower pace than Mads & James 🙂
Such an abundance of gorgeous shots! Pure photography! Thank you so much for posting this and all of your videos. That favorite shot of yours is a show stopper! I think the fall colors were perfect. Any brighter and they would have been competing instead of complimenting!
To most of us just about every image would be portfolio worthy, I mean seriously, it really doesn’t get much better, after all you’ve been through Nigel, it really is so good.
I can't even find the words to explain how Beautiful the location was! Your work is straight-up Fantastic, and a Huge Inspiration to keep improving my own! Thank You!
Had very similar conditions last Sunday from here. I knew you'd done this vlog but hadn't watched it until today. Pretty much stood in one place myself and picked out nearly identical compositions as those that you've printed. Great to know this vlog is there if I ever needed my memory jogging of what an epic morning I was fortunate enough to witness.
The Nikon Z 100-400 it's my favorite lens in my kit. It just pulls you in ... giving you access to details and small compositions within the scene unlike any standard zoom. It's amazing !
Awesome photos, Nigel. So great to see you out there climbing and spending time with friends. Gives us hope that we're all slowly getting back to the things we've missed the last couple of years. I hope your back keeps getting stronger.
Never a truer word to use than "amazing" for all these images. Breathtaking too. Thank you. Can I ask if you tended to stick to a particular F-stop for most of the long lens shots, Nigel?
Amazing shots in a great place! Thanks for the tips for using a long zooming lenses. I like the example in your video showing how many different composition from the same place.
Breathtaking morning at a beautiful location + great photographer = stunning photos! Thanks for sharing. I haven´t seen such beautiful shots in a long time...and the prints...oh my goodness, the prints...I just wonder what you do with all of them...you must have the house full of them by now..:)
Wow! An ideal illustration of why one gets up in the dark to get in place for the morning light. Thanks for sharing the thrill of that morning experience.
Bro this video is wonderful, it's so nice to see you back out there living life and living your passion. I hope your back is going good man. Great video, great shots.
Wonderfull shots in a crazy good location. As you said everything just came together the fog, the light hitting the tree tops, just fantastic. Love watching your channel, miss taking landscapes but I am more focused on Bird Photography with a bit of Macro and street photography due to where I live.
Great timing for me. Just got myself a 100-400 and it's so refreshing to tune my eye to detail and distant scenes. Michael Shainblums use of the 100-400 has been a big inspiration for me to get one. Thankfully canon offer a relatively cheap 100-400 for their full frame camera.
Beautiful images Nigel. What a morning, you and your friends got to experience. I'd love to see a tour of your studio and hear you talk about the printers, papers, etc that you use to create your prints.
Great video and amazing photos .. was just wondering if you Have tried the 2X teleconverter on the 70 200 lens and how it would compare with the 100 400 from a landscape point of view .. Thanks
Grays of Westminister channel did a video on this three months ago. I won't post the link, because RUclips never seems to allow the post to go through when I do, but you can search their vids.
Lovely. Makes me want to move closer to the mountains just to be able to do these types of spontanious trips. Would definitely add quality to life. Nice photo opportunities would be a bonus.
Wow! Yes, they are the best. Love the combination of fall colors and the morning fog. Is there any chance to see a video on ghow you edited such beauty. I always have problem with for at our lake in the park. Thanks Nigel.
Thought it doesn't get better than the other videos, but it got better :) I'm in the decision making of buying a telephoto for my Sony and I wanted to ask you if you would rather go for a 100-400 or a 150-500? Appreciating your recommendation.
It's obviously not the same class as the 100-400mm, but the 50-250mm that you can get with the Z50 might still be my favorite lens on my shelf. It's got a similar field of view and all the things you mention apply, you just get to pick out so many scenes if you've got a good vantage. It also weighs less than the water that I usually take on a hike which i appreciate.
Hey Nigel, great session out shooting and I really enjoyed the images you produced. Especially the last one, with just the trees and fog in it. Great abstract and very calm mood.
I started saving money after this lens hit the roadmap expecting the price to be prohibitive for me. I was correct in that regard so I’ve been waiting for something else that interests me. I finally gave up and ordered a used Tamron 100-400 F mount at less than a quarter the price. It should be delivered tomorrow. I don’t expect it to match the Nikon but it will give me the extra reach I’ve been wanting.
Hey Nigel! Thanks for the videos. Honestly the majority of my knowledge of photography comes from you and am always inspired by your work. Hope you're doing well.
Nigel on his best: 'It is not getting any better than this... oh my god it is getting better, have to get up again, ....'. I just love to watch how you are enjoying this spectacular light and morning! Thanks for all the tips in between and for sharing all these incredible pictures, so amazing what you got out of this morning!
What a super morning you had, glorious light and trees and mist! the 1m long print is gorgeous. Indeed, long lenses are a gem. I just got myself one lately and I start experimenting. great images. Your links are for everything but that lens! odd. I'm assuming the 100-400? On reflection, it could very well be MY persona; fav, the z 70-200mm f2.8 with the 2x TC - I love the combo too
Hei Nigel - awesome photos! I also love running around in our woodlands with my 40-150 2.8 (on my OM-1 it's an 80 to 300). Makes so much fun to use. I hope I will also find the time to get up so early for beautiful shots like yours (not so easy when you have two tiny kids :-D)!
Absolutely stunning images. So inspiring. Signing up to the newsletter as I really would love one of those prints. Thank you for another amazing video. Loved the catchphrase followed by "it's getting better!" Gave me such a laugh.
Hehe Gotta love the new zoom feature that RUclips revealed. Nigel, I can pause the video and zoom in on the images in greater detail and pick out those compositions like on that 1 meter wide print. It’s awesome!

You’re really the only landscape photographer I watch, mainly because it’s all about the print. Nice balance of technical and passion.

Thanks Gordon - really appreciate that
Nigel, this video is a testament to your perseverance despite recently recovering from your health problems. Great photos.
Nigel your passion for the landscape and the light is on full display in this video. It's so inspiring to watch you having the time of your life!
Great to see Mads and you together, two of my favourite go-to persons for landscape photography on youtube besides Andy Mumford.
I've been following your channel for a long time and I think this is some of the most spectacular light you've ever captured.
Honestly - this is my favourite of your videos, and I LOVE your channel so that's saying a lot. Such a superb location, and the long lens style is my favourite style of landscape photography. Thank you!

You’re doing well Nigel, just keep on going and you will get stronger and stronger.
Great location, wonderful conditions and amazing images... Truly beautiful.
100-400mm is one of my favorite lenses. It's just so versatile. I honestly don't understand anyone that opts for a 70-200 as their tele option.
Brilliant. I've just got back from the lakes today. I was also at the river brathay.
Great looking lens.
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful morning. Love your images...i can only dream. Thanks again for all the hard work

Ive been very curious about this lens, cant wait to watch this video. The 100-400 seems like such an amazing option.

Tamron just released a 50-400 lens for sony e-mount which I guess is similar but heavier
Always good to have a coffee and have five minutes to watch you working your magic
Stunning images. Can’t wait to receive your calendar.

Fantastic images - when everything comes together with the light, location, scene, fog, awesome.
It is soo windy in Snowdonia right now!
It‘s just perfect Nigel
Beautiful Nigel!!! Just stunning ! Cheers from Texas.
I love mornings like that! One great shot after another.
Fabulous images Nigel. Years of visiting the same places can lead to these rare rewards. Thanks for sharing.

How lucky for you men who are able to be out & about in the wee morning of the day. Most of us women are a little afraid to be by ourselves anymore!😱
What a stunning conditions, James and Mads where so lucky to be there with you at this perfect moment!! The 1 meter print looks amazing!!!
Hey Nigel! Thanks for the videos. Honestly the majority of my knowledge of photography comes from you and am always inspired by your work. Hope you're doing well.
Those prints will look even more beautiful when framed. Nice work.

What a superb morning. I remember it well, as I was in Wharfedale experiencing similar conditions. You have captured some of your strongest images Nigel, well in my opinion anyway. I particularly like the painterly one. I'm also a Z user and for now have bought the 2x converter to use with my 70-200 2.8.
