Congrats on the restoration buddy! Most people would shy away in fear of the rust! A true car enthusiast would not let anything stop him from restoring his prized possession!
My god. There's rebuilds and there's nut & bolt rebuilds. That took a lot of dedication and hard work! Your skills are amazing. Thank for sharing the journey with us and for saving what turned into a cracking EK. I hope you got a tidy profit for that because you deserve every penny!
I myself have a 1996 EK hatch that has some rust that needs repairing, my goal is to learn to rust repair and to work on cars overall with it. It's great seeing videos like this, makes me believe i can actually do it
Seriously impressive restoration. If I saw that shell I would say its a lost cause but you turned it into something amazing. This is far more impressive than builds that throw a bunch of expensive parts into a new car.
By the wheels and seats, I thought it was an Ek4. Then I saw the rear drums and then I saw the single jingle. My man, not everyone can show so much love and good work ethic to a "mere" EK hatch that's not an Ek4 or Ek9! Hats off.
The fact that you only have 3.6k subs... I will never understand. One of the most underrated channels I've seen in awhile. Definitely subscribing! VERY nice work!
No way!!! I'm without words!! I cannot imagine how much money you spent.. But it was really amazing. I got my Honda 99.. I've been spending a lot money to restore it. But everything that I added to it makes me feel like satisfaction ❤️. So many things to add to it still missing
I have the exact same car in stock condition and it needs this so so so badly. You do so well and the video is very well constructed. I’m very impressed and in such awe at how amazing this car looks I’m so jealous, but it’s so much inspiration to show me exactly what to do to my civic
Wow, so much work! Glad this showed up on my main page. I appreciate all the metal work you did on this. Crazy time-consuming. What is your welding setup and your welding experience? I've been hesitant to get into welding.
🙏🙏 I got a cheap welder off eBay that runs gas and flux core wire. I've only used the flux core wire. Doing the civic was my first time welding . Just start you'll soon figure it out 😬😬
Mullac 720 CRXseth is a beast at some body work as well!!! If you ever get some spare time you should hop over on his channel and check out his black B16 Rex he dailys it’s a beautiful ride!! He’s done some awesome work on other Rexs too. This was an awesome Video man. I had a black 98 ek hatch. It was my first car and watchin this makes me miss it!!
It's so amazing how you changed everything. It's exactly the car I am driving here in my country but having issues with it at present.. it doesn't start in the morning until sunset before it starts. Plss what could be the problem?
Congrats on a really good rebuild. Your knowledge is amazing and you have the patience of Job. I would have given up after seeing all the rust. You are very meticulous in your work. Your work on the valves and pistons and shoring up the leaks proves that. I love what you did with the install of the tablet and the rearranging of the climate control system. This rebuild hits close to home because my first Honda was a 96, 3 door Civic hatchback, DX model. Your videos are informative and a pleasure to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed binging the entire Civic rebuild series. I can’t wait to see what you did with the Miata.
I was very very hesitant to get into car restoration but man this video is very inspiring especially since you showed the whole process. if you had shown me the original and then the final product I'd say I could never do that in my life. but man I think I'm gonna get into restoring cars now because of you. amazing video and project and perfect results
I had a 1996 Honda Civic Si hatchback in college. That car delivered over 300,000 miles of pizzas. I only replaced the oil, brake pads, rotors and tires. I traded it in for a new Ford Ranger 4X4 after graduating and getting my first real job.
It was really neat watching you put this back together. Holy crud was that a lot to do! Hope youve been well. Awesome stuff man. Much love from California.
great dedication. especially with the rust repair. but on the other side, some corners were cut. i guess its fair play for a lower budget project. gotta respect the work you put into that
I did a bit of the same type of brake job on a 2006 Honda Accord after one of the break pistons had seized. Rebuild and paint to prevent rust. But what is the white stuff on the contact surfaces of the brake rotors? It looks like it's painted so is it some protective chemical when it was shipped to you or what am I missing?
EK1 HONDA Civic possibly the best model ever made & I have restored my fathers 1997 model 150000km cypress green auto never parting wth this its absolutely beautiful ❤❤people appreciate the work I've done its all original 😂😂😂
Amazing work! I've subscribed! liked! and will be sharing! this video should be reaching all Honda lovers!! one of the best restoration videos I've seen so far!!
Marvelous work mate, first time on ur chanel and it's really impressive. I really thought I wouldn't watch that for 15 minutes but when the video ended I've realised how wrong I was LOL Keep the great work
waoo... absolutamente brillante el trabjo que hiceste con ese coche. el trabajo que hiciste es admirable y sobre todo que lo hiciste tu solo, espero que puedas conseguir mas coche para reparar porque lo que haces es increible. saludos desde RD
Im just about to go buy a ek3 but im afraid when i start into it, it will be to rotten. It appears it needs outter archs and some patching on the inner arches and rear of both sils. Its fairly good apart from that
Amazing work! I'm attempting something similar starting this week. What was the black paint stuff used on the rear control arms? And what remover was used?
Had an accident last Oct.24th and my daily w204 was a write off. Have no choice but to make my 1998 ek hatch same as d16y7 5speed manual to run just a to b. Need a ton of body work like this bc it was neglected by previous owner. Dont hv alot of money and space to work this really helps me alot restorating it.
painting that with a paint brush, that paint must be so much thicker than normal spray on paint. probably adds a good amount of weight, looks good though.
Amazing job!! Was it just you or multiple people that worked on the car? If it was just you, you are a mechanic and what else to do all of this? Very impressive
Hats off to you, I would never have the patience of repairing so much rust!
ikr
I mean it only took 15 min…
@@nubekbereket1936 what? Lmao this comment made me laugh. Thank you
Seriously this had to take him so long. If I were him I would have found another car tbh. I could never deal with all that rust
Thats love

99% of people would diagnose that car as terminally rusted. Good job on bringing it back from the brink of death.
Thanks ♥️
