With exercising, I always say “let’s go move my body” I never say I’m about to go to the gym. Moving my body allows me to go running on the trail one day, and lifting weights the next. Depending on what I wanna do for that day. Forcing myself to stick to a workout routine in the long run made me resent the gym. At long as I moved my body for that day I’m content 🖤 Great video

I legit just saw a tiktok talking about this 9:14 I barely eat breakfast. Give me an apple and a banana around 10am and I’m good. You don’t have to eat these large portions 3 times a day if you don’t feel like it! And don’t be mad that you can’t lose weight when you’re eating a 3 pancake breakfast, burger lunch and pasta dinner a day!

Girl preach! I stopped weighing myself years ago because it was depressing to go so hard dieting and then you get on the scale and you’ve gained weight and you just feel horrible but not realizing that the weight you gained could’ve easily been muscle but your mind doesn’t understand that cuz the number from the scale clouds your judgement.

I feel you on a lot of these tips. I became hyperfocus on myself last year after people made me fee like I wasn't good enough for them since I wasn't the ideal woman with the right thickness. Then I realized that I was ok with myself but could be better. I went back on this health journey for two reasons which was my health issues and to be able to fit in my clothes the right way. NOT what people say and feel about me. I knew my dresses and shirts wasn't looking right on me. I called myself a bad bish but really didn't feel it. So now I'm on my way to becoming my true self and I'm eating and drinking much better. I call myself a conscious eater. I've gotten smaller and lost the weight in my face and upper body. I'm happy but still have a long way to go.

Girl this is the video I needed!!! I cleaned up my diet a bit eating predominantly home cooked food, more nuts and fruits without cutting out any food groups. I lost weight and was feeling a lot better, whilst still drinking alcohol. I did rebound about a week ago and I can feel a weight gain, now taking the baby steps to get back into a good place and regularly exercising as it’s good for mental health and keeping motivation.

i needed this. i literally bought salmon which i hate but “they” say it’s a good protein for eating in a calorie deficit. and here i am eating like shit while it sits in the freezer. i’m gonna eat it cause that’s money but i needed this to snap me back to my goal of eating better. i don’t need to force myself into a diet i know i won’t stick to.

Thanks for making this. I actually gained almost 60 pounds over the course of 2 years and I’ve been so frustrated about it because I used to be slim without counting calories and eating normally but I’m talking to a dietician and she said that participating in diet culture could make you yo-yo back and forth and have you disconnected with your body so I am trying to listen to my body and move more in a sustainable way

Honestly, thank you for this video. The time I got to my smallest 'known' weight was when I did not track what I ate, didnt weigh myself, and was actively engaged - busy with life, I guess. I basically was living my life and the weight was falling off!!! Since I got back to being obsessed with food and fitness - thinking of food and eating out of boredom or restricting myself, plus weighing myself almost daily, my weight has refused to go down and I am always miserable. I'm gong to save your video, listen to it as many times as I need to, because you're speaking the truth. Thanks and God bless you

To your many great points, a big thing for me was accepting the fact that the celebratory Friday meals at CFA and Cook Out make me feel like 💩.
They’ve been comfort food for me for years and it took a while to accept that they actuallllyyyyyyyy make me UNCOMFORTABLE now.
I feel so much better when I fuel myself with good ass food. And after a while your body starts to crave the good food over the junk.
You made really great points Amber! Thanks for sharing. ❤

What you said about breakfast is so true, growing up I was a pretty chubby kid but got into gymnastics and cheer/dance and ended up with an eating disorder bc of the way they pushed us to eat less and less and while in recovery we were forced to eat three full meals a day and it made me so sick. Eating in the morning makes me extremely nauseous and forcing myself to do it made it so much worse because then it was forcing myself to choke down food I didnt even like(I dont enjoy most breakfast foods anyway). People always hate when I say it but id rather not eat breakfast and be nauseous the whole day rather than just having my normal coffee/tea and eating a good lunch or dinner.

I definitely needed to watch this 😭. I’m also not a breakfast person and I’m in college so it works for me. But I struggle with overeating. Iced coffee is my safe haven but I been making it from home now instead of buying it from Dunkin which I think is a better alternative. I also think it’s not realistic for me to live the way other ppl eat like you said, because I cook for me, my mom and brother. We all have different needs 😂 so it doesn’t really work for me. Thanks for the tips ❤. New subbie!

Well, yea tried the no weighing concept..lol can't do that at the age of 40ish. Next thing I knew, I was 10 lbs heavier, and if I was weighing myself, I would have known I needed to change some things. At this point, I'm aware of the weight fluctuating..so I always take that into consideration. I'm happy it works for you, though. You look amazing, and I appreciate the tips, love 💪🏾

I agree with everything she said.. but I do want to put emphasis that she’s already had previous experiences with tracking which is important given this context. I do caution for those who are just starting out that having some form of portion control is important.. maybe track for two weeks then stop? You have to get an idea of how much you’re actually consuming at this very moment to know how much to dial back on or what healthy portions look like. Also, following health influencers and getting advice on meal preps is helpful if you’re just starting out. Yes don’t compare but the more ideas you have to transition to over to a more balance diet style the easier it can be. Follow the people who meal preps looks like something you will eat and enjoy 😅 PS this suggestion is not recommended for anywho had/has eating disorders.. since I’m not a licensed health professional don’t want to give harmful advice.

I truly agree with what you’re saying because I went from 250 to 219 in a year without really trying to. I gradually changed how I ate, made sure I ate breakfast and lunch every day. I ate a light dinner. I ate my favorite foods just in moderation. I still want to lose a few more pounds but I’m so pleased with my weight loss. Now I want to buy a scale!😊
