      I had my baby as well late last year! She is 5 months. I lost weight right after having her but I seemingly seem to be bigger now and it’s frustrating so I’m looking to get fit. I started walking around the neighborhood with my daughter. I will soon start core strength training and pelvic strengthening exercises because that’s a must before diving into things you did before.

    She gave some good advice but I particularly like the whole “don’t automatically drop down to 1200 calories” bit. I’ve noticed weight loss by simply eating at home more instead of eating out which means I am probably cutting 500-1000 calories without starving myself. Which was her point and it’s been easier for me to stay with it.

    • @DMVButterfly
      @DMVButterfly Год назад +19

      That’s the key Tyler. I did same. I was drinking a vanilla shake daily. I took that out and lost 5 lbs in a week. Small consistent changes add up to big results over time.

I slowed on my daily pint of Ben and Jerry's and started eating at home more and saw a world of difference in my skin and weight.

      “For a child between 2 and 3 years of age, the recommended daily caloric intake is 1000 to 1400 kcal/day” - taken from a scientific article. It seems you haven’t counted the calories of what you eat daily, no adult person would hit all their adequate needs on a 1200 calorie diet, that’s literally for children.

    • @tylerbhumphries
      @tylerbhumphries 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@bbappzz98 what the hell is this comment even supposed to mean? I never said adults should only eat 1200 calories a day. 1200 calories a day is the rate a lot of people drop down to in order to lose weight but since you want to use stats, adult women should eat 2000 calories a day to maintain weight and start cutting calories around 1500 or lower to lose weight. This information is taken from the National Institutes of Health's website which is a US federal website. Also, if you simply google "recommended calorie intake for adults" the calorie intake varies based on which source you use but the most common one is 1600 calories (starting point) for adult women to maintain their weight. But we're talking about weight loss. You have to cut calories to lose weight. Either by eating less or burning more. And even in my original comment I said cutting down that much isn't necessary to lose weight. Which was also what the women in the video said as well.

    This was a GREAT video! Losing weight is really so simple. We just have to do the work and it almost always starts with mindset. I love your approach because I'm in the same boat. I didn't want to track any calories or macros. It works but most of us really just want to live normal lives and be in a body that we feel the most confident in.

    Right you can't deny yourself the foods you enjoy. I do it with smaller portions. There are so many simple exercises you can do right at home. My trainer use to tell me it doesn't take 2 to 3 hours in the gym. Do what works for your body. Love it.

    No matter what you choose, diet, exercise or meds. Weight loss is not easy. I recently shared my story on my channel, on how I lost 22 pounds in 5 weeks, which could be really helpful to anyone struggling with weight loss.

    I used to watch Amber all the time! I started watching her when she did college vlogs! I randomly stopped checking in on her vlogs a couple yrs ago. I just randomly had a thought the other day thinking about getting my hair done ( bc hers stays slayed) and was like “ I wonder what’s been up with Amber?” Like we were long time friends🤣🤣😂😂😂…. Still love her! Love how she’s grown so much❤❤❤

    I watched this while working out at home!!! This was super informative and motivating! You are so right about doing what works for you because I already know I don’t have the mental discipline or confidence to just throw myself in a gym at the beginning of my weight loss journey lol. 😂❤

    This video is so spot on, I have been doing my workouts but knew I had to focus more on my nutrition and it meant sitting down for a hour or so with MFP to see what I was doing so know I'm in a better range to track as opposed to thinking I was in the ball park and I still get to have my barbells protein bar and some caramilk chocolate in the evening.
    And yes you are right, it really is you v you...

    Counting calories more so gave me anxiety, and I'm pretty sure I now have an unhealthy relationship with food because I approached weight loss as if I'm "preparing for a show." Just making healthier food choices is way easier for me mentally.

    I agree with everything you’re saying. My only note as person who’s always been on the plus side is that for people like me who have never been small, there are no photos to look at. You kinda need to look at some inspo and imagine and visualize yourself there because you’ve never seen it

    I think my biggest issue is…STRESS EATING !! 😩
    I’ve managed to go to the gym…and I’ve join a group that extremely helpful…however, mentally I need to train myself and mind with self control. I’m in my last year of 20s…I’ll be 29 this year, and I don’t want to be the size for my birthday. I’m tired of being tired and sounding like a linebacker when I breathe 🤣😂. So I pulled back from the eating out-and cook at home. I’ll take your advice with the meals.
    I have to find what works for my body without over-doing it and giving up at the end of the month. I’ve been in the gym since the start of this year, but I’m still eating garbage so-that’s counterproductive 💀😂
    Thanks for the vidor Amber!

    I actually like the meal prep idea that you said cause meal prepping is main issue cause I HATE meal prepping but making meals out of what’s already cooked gives more freedom to eat what you feel like with whatever exists

    I needed this my weight loss journey is just up and down,😕 I went from starving myself for days then eating a bunch of food on the weekends as my " cheat day(s)". So I am trying to be consistence and lose weight the healthy way. I am struggling with the calories portion lol, my mind tells me to count every little calorie in every food I eat. Lets hope I can conquer getting out of counting calories 🙃

    Amber me and you are so similar on our journey ! I lost 50 pounds in 6 months being super restrictive on my food , I have kept that off for 3 years now. I was very happy there but I’m ready to lose 20 more because I’m just not at my dream weight , and I’ve been so much more lenient, it’s going take longer but way more substantial

    Glad I watched your video. You said some good things that I needed to hear and you made so many good points and the meal thing with you cooking all your protein and just making your meals with that. I love that idea. That so much easier. So thank you for everything.

    Thank you so much for making this video. Ive decided to start back on a weight loss journey. Losing 25 pounds would be a dream. I think sometimes on my period it's a free for all when it comes to eating. How do you manage period cravings? For the gym, I go to a boxing gym on my off days. That is constant cardio. I kinda feel like i need to add something else to it.
    It would be great to get a video of you grocery shopping and your go to way's to cook chicken, ground turkey and/or any other protein. Any go to snacks also.
