      I literally just missed a shiny wattrel and saw it again while catching a murkrow, which wasn't in my pokedex. The pokedex registering animation wasted enough time to allow the wattrel to get far enough away from me that I couldn't see it, despawning it. Could have been avoided if the shiny sound from PLA was kept in.

    If you’re trying to tell the regular curly tatsugiri apart from the shiny stretchy tatsugiri - wait for them to do their camouflage animation. Curly tatsugiri do what their name suggests, curl up, and their tails points upwards. Stretchy tatsugiri lay flat.
    So if you see an orange tatsugiri laying flat, you know it’s a shiny stretchy tatsugiri and not a regular curly tatsugiri!

    I love how this generation of Pokémon they said, "Hey, let's try to make sizes somewhat accurate this generation. From there we should make half of the new pokémon the size of a pea, make their shinies very subtle changes, and then not give any indicator that they're shiny until you get into a battle with them". Brilliant, just brilliant.

      So true! Though I’m not color blind, even I have a difficult time to notice that the critter that I caught is a shiny. Especially with the new pokemon as most of them are barely any different than the original one.
      I really dislike what they did with the shinies this generation. It’s like how they took what they did with Gastly and it’s evolutions and did just that with most of the new pokemon. And I hope that the no shiny chime and sparkle thing in the field before battle thing is a mistake or oversight because in my first half hour of playing that game, I found my first shiny without knowing that it’s a shiny. Glad that I caught it instead of mowing down the pokemon that I already have. Other than that, I would’ve lost it without knowing that it was and it was a brand new pokemon instead of the old ones that I’ll notice right away.

      Not trying to sound offense, but as a blind person, what is the purpose/enjoyment looking for different colored Pokémon for you? • @jedimastersnake
      @jedimastersnake Год назад +14

      @@NoonMightthat is a very good question haha. And don’t worry, you didn’t offend me at all. I think I tend to pick out shinies of Pokémon whose design I already like. then, I like the shinies because they are noticeably different. For example, I like Dragapult’s design and the shiny incorporates my favorite color, yellow, in a bright, noticeable way, at least for me. This combined with the enjoyment I get just from searching for a shiny is just a lot of fun (plus the rarity). I won’t ever really go for a shiny that I can’t tell the difference or a shiny I don’t like. Maushold, for example, is a design I very much like and it’s a Pokémon I may even use competitively, but it’s shiny is basically unchanged so I don’t plan on shiny hunting it like ever.

    The easiest way to tell if a Future form Paradox Pokémon is shiny, is how metallic it is. The difference is that most of their prominent colours are changed to match the surrounding metal colour, so if it's almost entirely the same silver metallic colour, it's shiny.
    The only outliers are Iron Moth and Iron Hands who keep their prominent orange and yellow colours respectively, so are a bit harder to notice.

    You know he didn’t have to go out of his way to find a solution for color blind people but this is a guy who cares about the community as a whole so we shouldn’t have expected anything less.

    Seriously, bless you Austin. I have different disabilities that affect my relationship with video games, but just seeing you consider this and pursue helping this community to this extent just gives me all of the warm and fuzzies and reinforces my decision to subscribe (and subscribe again when I remade my account, hah). 🥺
