Both seem to take a lot of inspiration from their mega evolutions. I actually wouldn’t mind that if they’re never gonna go back to Megas. Just re-incorporate their design elements into new forms
It makes sense for them to resemble their Mega Evolutions, since Megas were technically their ancient forms, so the past forms should be close to that.
Fun fact about flamingos: When parents feed their chicks something known as crop milk, they start to loose their color and become a really pale pink or even white. They eventually get it back when the baby’s grow up and become independent. That’s why its shiny is more pale, which frankly i think is neat. Love fun little details like that.
Dundunsparce is probably the goofiest thing I have seen in Pokémon in a long time. I remember back when Sun and Moon was coming out and people thought Drampa was going to be Dunsparce’s evolution.

Honestly, these are my favorite Pokémon designs since Gen 5. Legendaries are sick, sub legends are sick, new type combos, paradox Pokémon are insane, and armorougue and ceruledge.🔥
Scarabs are indeed Egyptian, and Rabsca is specifically a reference to Khepri, the Egyptian god of the sun who was said to roll up a new fireball every day and carry it across the sky.
Wow the box looks so cool :o On another note, as much as I appreciate all the work you put in for your videos, please don't sacrifice your health for it! 🥺
My new favourite Pokémon is Tarountula hands down, they're so cute and round and the shiny is a lovely combo of black and red, which goes splendidly with the Luxury ball (best ball in the game i do not take criticism)💚 close seconds are Espathra and Arboliva, whose shiny forms i also love and can't wait to hunt starting tomorrow ^^
I think that the best part about of Kingambit's existence has nothing to do with it, but rather about Bisharp...it's now a Eviolite Mon! That said, it lacks any form of regen outside of rest (as far as I can remember...maybe it has drain punch?), but it now has insane bulk on top of it's high attack and quite op typing.
I really like this format you have going. I was really worried about seeing Pokemon spoilers, especially because of events out of my control which is make me wait at least another week before I can play these games. However, with these videos I've been able to see and hear a little bit about all the different Pokemon without being spoiled on the story at all which is very important to me as I really want to experience the story for myself but just seeing the Pokemon like this in game now that the game is out just helps to peak my interest for next week.
So interesting how different backgrounds change a lot how you see things. For me, the Garganacl line is just a Mexican pyramid and the "acl" in the name is a reference to Nahuatl and Nahualtl words (the language of the aztecs and still spoken by many Mexicans). I would've never thought about Na and Cl. And the Espathra just looks like Cleopatra to me. I loooove most of the designs and the concepts of this game sound so interesting. Considering I don't have a Nintendo Switch, I'll be sad here, but I'll have fun watching the videos!!
I immediately caught on to the NaCl thing, since I once made a dnd character having it in their name as a joke, and also the fact that they’re made of salt

I'm with you on Tinkaton. I'm hyper-masculine and have very little respect for the Fairy type. They designed it specifically to address the fact that Dragon only has two weaknesses, but haven't addressed Electric only having one (or none if they Levitate). They're sweet, they're squishy... But I HAD to have a Tinkaton, and I named her Solus Prime.
Rellor and rabsca are anagrams for roller and scarab. So you being reminded of a scarab makes a lot of sense. Rellor is a straight reversal and rabsca is just the word cut in half and rearranged.
Minor note - Legends Arceus was probably no more than like 150-250 years in the past. Also, looking at the dex entries for the paradox mons, they don't appear to actually be from the past/future, but from something else entirely.
This video is really helping me prepare for what Pokémon I want on my team. For Scarlet I’m going with a pacifist team and for Violet I’m going with the rebels team.
As a steel type trainer this game makes me extremely happy with my steel type choices. Specially getting another fairy steel. Tinkaton is my favorite aswell
I’m confused on the pseudo legendary Pokémon’s here since they seem to be heavily influenced by Chinese myth yet this game takes place in a Spain inspired region. They did a great job with sun and moon for their design ideas and drop the ball here.
Hey austin just a little question: do you need to trade for the starters or can you get them in the wild? And do you need both paradox types (future or past) to complete the dex?
9:08 : "I reminds me of a scarab" *the Pokemons name is an anagram of Scarab" 11:34 : "I don't know why it's pink"...they switched the color of the nose and body. I don't blame him because he's sleep deprived I just find it funny

@@azgaming9291 almost said gen 6 instead of 5 lol!
@@AgapeGaming17 idk about you, but gen 6 is the best region. greninja is my favorite pokemon, mega evolution is the best, and the anime was great
Not gonna lie, Tinkaton is appearing to be my favorite from this gen. Can't wait to start playing it tonight.
Team Violet, who’s with me? Gimme the robots
Yea me I mostly want salamence
Team Scarlet, who's with me? Gimme the ancients
I got Violet. But seems like majority is with Scarlet.
I got violet 😎
Dragapult is my favorite sudo legend pokemon so violet is mine but also love purple
originally i wasnt a big fan of the future forms but now that i get a better look at the design they actually look rlly good
Scarabs are indeed Egyptian, and Rabsca is specifically a reference to Khepri, the Egyptian god of the sun who was said to roll up a new fireball every day and carry it across the sky.
I thought rabsca was just an anagram for scarab...sortaa like how rellor is just roller backwards since he is a dung beetle that rolls things.
Thank you for all you do for not spoiling this but still being helpful
Wow the box looks so cool :o On another note, as much as I appreciate all the work you put in for your videos, please don't sacrifice your health for it! 🥺
i dont wan't spoilers just yet but dropping in to support austin
looking forward to all the great quality videos coming soon
Make sure you let the video run to help the algorithm
lol same! I'm just listening to it
My new favourite Pokémon is Tarountula hands down, they're so cute and round and the shiny is a lovely combo of black and red, which goes splendidly with the Luxury ball (best ball in the game i do not take criticism)💚 close seconds are Espathra and Arboliva, whose shiny forms i also love and can't wait to hunt starting tomorrow ^^
I agree, those little guys are INSANELY cute!!
Flashback to when I received a Frigibax during a Surprise trade and didn’t know what it was
I think that the best part about of Kingambit's existence has nothing to do with it, but rather about Bisharp...it's now a Eviolite Mon! That said, it lacks any form of regen outside of rest (as far as I can remember...maybe it has drain punch?), but it now has insane bulk on top of it's high attack and quite op typing.
6 more hours to go.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop Austin.
11 hours more to go
@@designtech7805 for real where is they at lol
Can’t wait to add Roaring Moon to my team, this game is gonna be a blast.
Sandy Shocks' hair things look a lot like ferrofluid
I actually really like Greavards evolution! Definitely going on my team! Bread dog probably will as well. The first thing imma do when I get breeding is try to get a shiny rockruff for the rest of the playthrough as well
I can’t explain how happy I am about the flamingo and snow leopard Pokémon’s 😭💜
Good to see Flamigo love. So far it seemed almost universally hated, which is ironic sad because it has friend in its name.
@@tonybrewer7536 tbh its just a flamingo
@@uzumakimadeit It's pretty, and it's strong. Fighting/flying type - part of my Scarlet team all the way through.
I finally have a favorite gen. Literally every single Pokémon this generation has been a massive win for me. This is definitely the weird and boundary-pushing generation that I've been waiting for. Somehow, each mon seems to cater to my specific tastes. There will truly never be a better generation in my eyes 🤩
12:10 🤣 you earned a sub with that joke
I believe Capsakid may be named after Capsicum, what bell peppers are called in Spain, but in English is the genus of plant they belong too. It is also what we call Bell Peppers in Australia.
My favourite part of Maushold is their evolution way. I won't spoil but is so fitting with the theme 😂 GF innovated so much this generation
Can you at least tell me if its something I have to know to do in advance or if it will just happen normally? I mean, not spoiling becomes kinda pointless if It turns out I have no knowledge on how to make it evolve.
@@jonathangoodwin5609 Spoilers ahead:
You must get it at level 25 at least and then it will evolve at random (by random I mean: the babies will appear. There's no evolution scream, it will simply happen, it being at the box or your team)
@@jonathangoodwin5609 It's like evolving nincada into Ninjask and Shedinja randomly appears. It's a random evolution that doesn't have it's own screen
Lots of respect man! I wish more RUclipsrs had your style . Not bombarding people with the constant subscribe and click this and click that. Such a breathe of fresh air . Your attitude is superb . You have a likable personality because your genuine and you know what your audience wants without the bs. And your voice is pleasant which goes a long long way. I’ll keep watching your videos for years . Thanks for the content .
Same. Tinkaton will definitely be part of my team.
@@madisonm1310 thats awesome, I used it in my playthrough and gigaton hammer is one of my new favorite moves in the series
Can't wait for Tinkaton 😁 after the leaks, I told myself I'm gonna get that pokemon it reminds me of Mawile 😍
“Kinda reminds me of a Scarab”
It’s name is rabSca. Jumbled up Scarab
"It has jaundice in the eyes, idk why....looks cool though" 🤣...I love you @Austin John Plays
I'd love to see you do a video on like your full opinion on all of them now that the game's been out for a bit :)
Now I really can’t wait to play the game and see all these amazing Pokémon myself!
This is easily my favorite lineup of new Pokémon in at least a decade. I'm so stoked!
Rabsca, if you move the last three letters to the front, is scarab, and rellor is roller backwards.
And do you need both paradox types (future or past) to complete the dex?
you have to trade for starters, and yes you need both box legendaries. You can find an extra in post-game
All right thank you so much
I'm so excited for this game. It has so many of my favorite pokemon including my baby garchomp! Love how many dragon pokemon they have this time too
Austin John Plays handles spoilers so well, the videos are organized perfectly
22:55 - IT LOOKS LIKE A GOLDEN CHEESE STRING OR A GOLDEN INFLATABLE WAVY MAN XD
9:08 : "I reminds me of a scarab" *the Pokemons name is an anagram of Scarab"
11:34 : "I don't know why it's pink"...they switched the color of the nose and body.
I don't blame him because he's sleep deprived I just find it funny
I gotta say I’m kinda surprised. I’m liking the vast majority of the new entries. They did a really good job this time.
Scarlet is the first Pokemon game that has all my favorite versions (of Pokemon, as well as the Pokemon themselves) in one game, and I could not be happier.
Really disappointed in this entire dex. Starters were really disappointing! I see why they didn't want to reveal them. I think I am going to pass on this gen. The best part of this all for me was watching you Austin! How you broke stuff down but also didn't spoil anything. Gave time about spoilers! Your jokes and dunsparce jokes, lol everything! Keep up the great work and I'll continue to support the channel!
They fr just saw a flamingo and were like “its perfect”
About shiny Flamigo: it's based on a fact that true Flamingo colors comes from its diet,
being little crustaceans and if it doesn't eat a lot of them or they are unhealthy I think
the birds doesn't get its pink color.
this region has amazing designs from early game to endgame. Simply blown away, like shout out to the artists for making some beautiful mons
Always good to see comments like yours. Others just like to call them ugly
Ceruledge and Tinkaton are awesome, definitely adding those to my team.
already have their pre-evolutions in mine
Flittle is so cute❤ I love that it’s a little egg that evolves into a ostrich princess ❤
Princess? Its based off cleopatra, an egyptian queen
@@louisgrissman4857 Well the point is that I love its design regardless. The Queen or Princess thing is not really all that important . But yeah your right
It looks like "Rabsca" is the anagram for "Scarab" as you struggled to think of "that Egypt thing.." 😂
Fun fact: The black stuff on Sandy Shocks is most likely Ferrofluid! It's a magnetic fluid that forms these cool spikes when close to a magnet, you should look it up it's really fascinating to watch!
I feel they did an amazing job with the pokemon designs this generation. Almost all of them look very good and are fun and original too.
These Pokémon look so great. The new wooper line and the mouse family will 100% be on my team
Austin never fails to amaze me he is easily my favourite RUclipsr and is such a humble man and if you see this Austin I hope you have a good day
I think the wierd thing about brute bonnet is that it was befor this time but after the legends game so that must be way far in the past but we don’t know when the poke balls we use today were made
For Rabsca, "scarab" beetles do exist, but its not one specific species. It's the family Scarabaeidae, and dung beetles are within this family. So... Rabsca is definitely based on Scarabaeidae AND Egyptian scarab artifacts!
