How are you getting the camarupt? I’m using your method but no matter how close to the wall I get there are tons of talon flames and often only one pack of numel with a single camarupt?

Wrong, if he treated the community like actual people he would of told you how bad this game both looks and runs and he would of told you not to spend your money on it. At the least he would tell you to wait until they patched things up (if they ever decide to do so, probably not) he hasn’t said a single word about the poor graphics and absolutely abysmal performance.

Not really luck- it’s super easy to do.
Then do it
He is spawning like 20 Pokemon per 20 seconds with high shiny rolls... and he's pretty much recording all the time. He spends more time recording in a day than the average player plays in a day.
But there are times when he just randomly gets a shiny with little to no extra shiny methods.
And you know that sometimes luck is all like "no shinies, your rec."

Austin never makes boring lets plays, he gives us the info needed to play the games ourselves.
For Violet there is a nice Fairy route: First Cassorya lake for Marill/Azumarill, then the upper part of tagtree thicket for Impidimp/Morgrem with a small chance for mimikyu and then in area zero outside of the lab 4 Iron Valiant. Got 3 different shiny in 30min with one sandwich. Edit: Yes I got the shiny charm.

As someone who hasn’t really done any shiny hunting due to the sheer effort it takes, I tried Mass Outbreaks in Arceus but just lost interest. Your Isolated Encounter method looks incredibly awesome and actually gets me really excited to complete the dex and work on some shinies for once! Thank you so much Austin
Its so easy the hardest part is getting the herbas but some can be done without them

@@sunbearsunday750If you head to Fury Falls, or where you found the Firescourge Shrine, zooming in on the map will let you see this little pool with a stone pillar in the center. It’s easy to climb up to from that area!
I like it personally because it’s easy to see all the Pokémon spawning in at once, and although some drakloak and dreepy will spawn in that area as well, the only Pokémon you have to worry about chasing you are golduck, which are easy to finish off or maneuver around. Good luck on your hunting!

This is probably gonna be my favorite Gen in terms of mechanics and shiny hunting by far. The sandwiches had me doubtful at first but seeing the different layers and strats makes it so fun. Amazing video like always!

If anyone is interested you can find a shiny houndor in Inlet Grotto (cave where you find your ride Pokémon in the beginning of the game) I did a fire encounter sandwich and found one in the first 5 minutes or so. Thanks Austin for the helpful tips!!

Amazing work as always, Thanks so much Austin! First time trying isolated encounter method and caught 4 shiny Pokémon within 30 minutes, I also saw two shiny Pokémon in the middle of catching 2 of the four which sadly ran out of spawn by time I was done with my current encounter.

Hopefully this can help if anyone else has struggled with this too. When I made the sandwhich for shiny flying encounters I used the Sour and Sweet herba Mystica with the according ingredients from the chart. I was confused as to why I wasn’t getting extra scyther encounters besides the normal spawns. It turns out the sweet and sour herba mysticas put together gave me capture power flying instead of encounter rate flying so just be wary of that!
I noticed that today too when trying to make one for Poison to hunt Shroodle, I wasn't sure if it was just for Poison though. Guess I can't use the ones I have now until I get some other Herbas.
@@annenxf have you tried jefe's recipes? they were covered in the last video on sandwiches AJP did and they've only failed me when i accidentally drop all my ingredients lol, but there's one for a multi herb sandwich that uses 2 herba of any type along with a variety of other ingredients depending on type
@@mintysnivyI went to that video and found the any Herba mystica sheet from Jefe, same result Encounter Power turns into Catching Power. Looks like it is just a result of mixing Sweet/Sour. Kind of sucks since those are the only 2 I have right now, hoping I get some raid drops today.

Accidentally discovered this last night when using your method to hunt Great Tusk - found that in 10 minutes and went to try to use the rest of my time to get a shiny Makuhita and got 2! So much more fun than mass outbreaks. Thanks for all of your hard work, your videos have been so helpful.
What was the best location to hunt for tusk?

@@cora8332 I found mine randomly full odds, but I got it near the wandering Pokémon center. If memory serves there’s a lot near there in the rocky place
@@cora8332 I hunted around the east province area 3 watch tower. With the encounter power I got lots of hordes around there. Run around a bit til you find a good spot with lots of spawns.
My first ever random shiny was a cute little Litleo that walked up behind me during another battle! I almost cried lol

Litleo is my dream shiny. So far I've randomly come across spoink, tarountula, dratini, and ditto. All without trying and the first two within the first hour of game. APPARENTLY my bio says I've battle six. WHAT.

Mine was a random flamigo that I thought looked a bit off. I also just yesterday got into a random encounter with a smoliv and I saw one with a black olive in the background. My heart was pounding lol.
I was sneaking up on a regular Sneasel, then a shiny one ran up on me like a jumpscare.
Since then, shiny Sneasel is the only ever shiny that shows up :/

Genuinely needed this, gives me a better way to hunt than mass outbreaks. Hopefully I can add to my 9 current shinies when I get home.
I did this (w/shiny charm) and got shiny bagon, shiny dreepy and shiny garchomp within 30 minutes. By far faster, simpler and all around more fun than hunting the mass outbreaks.
At this rate, Austin John ought to be a professor at the Naranja/Uva academy
hey austin! if youre short on video ideas, making one on rare spawns like slakoth, applin, pineco, blissey, and some of the eeveelutions seems like it could make good content! you could always evolve / breed some of these, but sometimes it's more fun to catch them in the open!
Would love this. Haven't found a single Applin and it'd be nice to not have to happiness farm on a chansey
@@soogymoogi go to tagtree thicket with encounter dragon 1 and ram into trees, you can see a little applin sitting in the tree before you ram it. i caught like 20 out there trying to get good IV applin
I second this for Slakoth & Applin, or just any Tree Spawns in general. I was lucky to even find a Pineco out of a tree and had to rely on Tera Raid Dens to get Slakoth & Applin. Was able to get one Slakoth from a 2-star Normal Den & two Applin (one for each evo) from 1-star Steel Dens
Yes that's what I was thinking!! He should make a rare spawns video and wild Tera Pokémon video. It'd be so helpful for finding those Pokémon

i like the term isolated encounters. ppl have been doing this method and its basically a combination of repel trick + overwolrd ability like static, its really nice

This is a very fun way to research and find shinies you're seeking out without relying on outbreaks! The main thing I see outbreaks still holding up on this is sandwich-less searching. Sometimes, you see an outbreak and acknowledge that you haven't gotten like any Herba Mystica drops lately but still want to hunt. I can see outbreaks being good for those moments. But if you've got the Herba to spend, this definitely should be a go-to.

Tried this after watching the video and got my very own shiny Iron Valiant about 25 minutes in! It took 2 tries, he's quite stubborn, but I'm happy to have him. I have been wanting to hunt him for a while and this gave me the perfect way to try it~
This is great, now we just need an Isolated Encounter Shiny map for all the 'mons. Maybe a Google doc that everyone can contribute to or something. Nice work as always!
I had a ton of success with this method. I've really enjoyed doing it like this instead of the mass outbreaks, and was even able to find a shiny slowpoke this way by just having my pokemon autobattle them until it refused to attack one of them haha. Since I didn't have to worry about the outbreak ending from killing too many. And within the 30m of that psychic sandwich I was able to also find a shiny Bronzor and Flittle. If you can isolate the pokemon's type, this method is amazing.

The isolated encounter Hunt method has been so much easier than any other method. In the matter of 2 hours I caught 5 shinys with ease. Though one was a random shiny I just happened to walk by. Thank you Austin John!

Yeah they've definitely promoted and made shiny hunting a lot more fun. I've hunted 10 shinies so far while also trying Masuda method for a shiny sprigatito, and well, I haven't had any luck on the egg front 😂 but the hunting is so much fun. Really hope they add overworld sparkles, some of these shinies (Garchomp tier) are just.... yeah.

I couldn't wait to try this method out once I finally got two salty herbs. And I got the exact ones I wanted! (Klawf and Glimmora btw) I actually got really lucky and got the first one in only a few minutes. The second one I got in the last few minutes!

One great spot is Rotom at the lighthouse by Porto Marinada, it's only Rotom with Electric power (and perhaps Ghost too but I was using the time post-Iron Hands). The problems fall with Pokemon like Cetoddle who are only Ice type and only spawn in icy areas where everything else is its type, so outbreaks may be needed for them (or Masuda, of course).

I spend almost 10 hours on a mass outbreak last weekend and a shiny never spawned. I'm definitely going to switch to this method.

I like the mass outbreaks for pokemon like finizen since it's only a water type and you can't really isolate something like that. But for most things I like this method better

I agree, this is my favored method, even with base odds. But it only really works in select cases and in areas where only that one species of that one type appears. I had an outbreak of Vaporeon that I managed to get a shiny out of, and I don't know if I could have found another place to make it work without just running into a bunch of Golducks instead.
Tried this and got a shiny Frigibax in only an hour without herba mystica or shiny charm. Totally works. Thanks for Isolated Encounters method!
I hunted for a shiny Chansey using this method. I made ham sandwiches near the fairy team star base and chain attacked wild Chansey. I didn’t even make any sparkling sandwiches and I didn’t have a shiny charm, and it still only took me around 1-2 hours to find.

Just got my first shiny (a Noibat) in Violet today! I didn't use any tricks either... I was just browsing around West Province (Area Two) when I noticed a Noibat with different colors in the overworld and I knew I had to catch it. It's sitting in my box as a beautiful shiny Noivern right now; I'll probably EV and Hyper Train it as soon as I get the chance.
While I didn’t use this strategy for Shiny Hunting, I did use a sandwich to try and find a Frigabax in the area near the Ghost Gym, by using a sandwich boosting Dragon encounter power. That worked out well, since I found one almost immediately, alongside a bunch of others, when I could barely find one before the sandwich.
You can just cycle around
You don't even need a sandwich. There's a dedicated tera Frigibax spawn to the north of the highest peak in Paldea, nearby the river. And since it's a tera spawn, it will by default be a higher level and have better IVs than most open world spawns.

A Shiny Marril and a Shiny Azumarill in the sandwich time using this method, At the beggining I was doing a wrong route to see all the spawns but eventually I figured it out so basically those 2 shinies in 15 min. GREAT METHOD, also using Papa Jefé's recipes

Can we get a list of mons that are able to get Isolated Encounter hunted and where they are best hunted at now? I only use the outbreaks for material farming, so this is a game changer for shiny hunting to me now
serebi would be the main place for that. a full list would prob take at least 40 hours to put together

As someone who is absolutely new to shiny hunting, I was watching this and picked up my Switch and I kid you not.. literally caught a shiny within 5 minutes..
I've tried the outbreak method multiple times and (A) Never get the pokemon I want to spawn (B) never had luck after hours. I try this method and find my first shiny ever, thank you so much.

Shinies overall have gotten so much better and I love the pointers Austin gives. I have found 3 overworld shines without sandwiches in the first 3 days of release and got a couple of hatched shiny eggs with sandwiches.
If I’m not mistaken, sandwiches do not effect masuda method hatches??
@@PapaJohnsPie egg power raises the amount of eggs you get per minute. That "raises" shiny odds by giving you more encounters faster

Retried the Isolated Encounter method in the Socarrat Trail or Autumn forest last night. Used Sandwich #54 the bug lvl 2. No herba mystica. In the 30 minutes I found 3 shiny heracross, a shiny fortress, and a shiny tarountula. I do have the shiny charm but man this method feels so good!!! Next is dragon encounter for Dratini/axew/deino
You're making me want to fill out my Shinydex with only Pokemon I've caught myself. I was filling it out with shinies I'd traded for mostly, but dang, with all your videos doing it myself feels more achievable.
Doing a living shinydex as well, only because this game looks like I can do it in under 1000 hours.

Did this in the bamboo forest and got a shiny growlithe, then went were you found your litleo and found two shiny female pyroars. Took over 10 mins to find the first one so I was sweating but it was awesome. Gonna do shinx next thank you so much ❤

I got a shiny Iron Hands last night using your "broken" burger recipes :) Electric with Sparkling, Title, and Encounter. Recipe: 1x Tomato, 1x Onion, 1x Green Pepper, 1x Hamburger, 2x Yellow Pepper, 2x Bitter Herba Mystica. Haven't tried Dragon but Electric absolutely works.

I've done Larvitar in the asado desert was the easiest hunt of all time because they were the only fire type that would spawn, pawniward and bisharp in the bamboo forest by the fighting team star base, all the violet paradox pokemon in area zero, sandygast on the shore right outside the city where iono was, in the grass that directly connects to that shore you can do cyclizar, greavard on essentially the entirety of the snow
I saw a comment said Houndour house is could be hunted in Inlet grotto
Frigibax near ghost gym and toedscool at top left of map above the big lake where false dragon titan is (Cassaroya I think)

Did Glimmet in Dalizapa passage just around the pokemon center area with no shiny charm and sparkling power. Just had encounter power rock level 2. He self destructed on me and I forgot to turn autosave off. However literally in the next 15 seconds ran into another one that was glitched in the ramp away from the pokemon center and got him! Took 23 minutes and 2 shiny encounters!
Now we need a video on where to best use this method by listing every area where only one Pokémon of a type spawns lmao

Got 2 shiny Marill within 30 mins using this method! Also, if you have a Pokemon that can keep up with your ~Raidon, like Ceruledge for example, then you can have it pick up items off the ground, like rare items to sell or berries to reset EVs

It doesn't matter if you save the game after making the sandwich, if you close the game you lose all buffs and ingredients, so only save BEFORE you make the sandwhich.
