Thank you so much for this. Apart from anything else, this method moving a whole project between computers is great. I have messed up attempts to transfer a project a few times and have been confused with having to go hunting down broken links to media clips. The archive method you describe here looks great.
Thank you! I had to recreate an intro last night and it was so irritating because I was trying to work as fast as possible. Thankfully its extremely simple so didn't take me long but still. Absolutely will be adding this to my workflow! Learned lots of DR tips from you so far!
Can you change (edit) elements when you create a compound clip? For example I want to save the intro I made with fusion and also the title page. I would want to change the name of the title with each new video.
Thanks for the video! I‘ve found making a template that way is quite useful as it also let‘s you re-use everything that has been set up in Fairlight, i.e. audiotrack names, equalizers etc.. Didn‘t know about the video archive feature. Cheers 🍻!

I usually render the fusion clip and then add the rendered video into the smart bin. So whenever I open a project, I will get the intro available. I don't know if there is a better method, but it seems to be working fine for me.
if I restore project archive it will just create a new project, but what I want is to import files from one project to another with their fusion effects and sounds

I know this is an old comment but I'll share this for others. If you save a video file and reuse it as a clip, you cannot edit any of the underlying fusion/layer components anymore. It's now a static video. So if you need/want to change colors/text/animations, you'll have to go back to your original animation, change it, and create a new video file. Also some video formats dont have an alpha (transparency) channel, so if your clip needs to be transparent at all, please select the appropriate type.
I just have a file called "Titles" and use dynamic project switching. Then cut and paste into my current project when it's finished. However my effects such as lens flare seem to resize and move to different points in the edit and I've no idea why. I ended up just exporting it as a movie clip and now I just have that in my power bin.

When you use something on Resolve 16 brought by importing it you can use it as you want, but after the import if you change the location of the file like in another folder it will be no more available on Resolve, is it possible to avoid this problem?

This is great. But this option doesn’t seem to allow changing the text. As in, you make 10 videos, and want everything the same, except the video title. So same channel name, same sound, same background, just a minor text change.

Can you do a tutorial on how to cut your face off and place on an image when it's still in recording process? Like when youtubers cut their face on an animal and it's still recording, then they say something funny of what they would think. It might hard to explain.
Casey I just got to a point in a project where no matter what I get no audio out when I did yesterday and I have audio out from every other project and source I have. Even the VU meters register audio signal there's just no output. Worked last night, open it up to deliver it the next morning and 4 hours later I still haven't gotten audio. Can you help or have you seen this? Ty
In the deliver tab, check the audio tab on the left and be sure the export audio box is checked. I say this because after the update last week it unchecked my box to export audio and I had to fix it. Hope this helps.
@@Genxade ok that setting was fine. I just tried to render only the audio and it wouldn't even do that. When it was done the file wouldn't even open. Source files are still in the same spot and the exact same ones work in other projects it's kinda infuriating. Thanks for you help tho

Cant you just render the intro by using the in/out range on the render page and just import it each time. Seems less hassle.

Casey, I’m a little disappointed in you today 😎 The perfect way to reuse intros is via Powerbin. It’s always there and kind of an official way.

I have a stinger transition created in after effects, is it possible to use it as a transition in davinci saved as a macro?

I know this is basic, but gets me all the time... is it muted in resolve? The little speaker icon in the right of the toolbar?

I just render my intro and outro, save it to my desktop, and then drag it into the media pool every time
Why they make this so difficult....
Because
TBH I just render them and drag the rendered "opening" into the media pool of my next project. I rendered at 4k/30.
I do that too for my basic projects but for the more advanced ones where I need to load a bunch of assets at the start this seems to take the cake
... or as we say in the UK: "It's the dog's bo**ocks!"
