For Ratchet 1 and 2 at least, I'd recomand AGAINST RPCS3 (as of June 1st 2022). 5700 XT + R5 3600 owner: Both Ratchet 1 and 2 run most consistently at 60 fps on PCSX2 on Vulkan than on RPCS3 on Vulkan. RPCS3 needs a significantly faster CPU than mine for a locked 60 fps in these games. The sections in the video appear fine, but there will be massive slowdowns in subsequent levels.
Do you have the latest update for the game? I get loads of screen tearing where giant triangles rip through the screen and the game runs in slow motion but at 30 fps.
@@Sean-if7rp there's a site that has a LOT of pkg files for PS3 game updates, just drag and drop into RPCS3(when open) I only had a problem with Ratchet and Clank Full Frontal Assault/Q-Force(you have to install 1.04 then 1.05)
I'm using the same settings as yours on my i3 8100 rx470 but it's not working for me. I'm stuck at the menu. And also the game is ingame in rcps3 compatibility page. How did you manage to run it?
@@PaddySheeper The game is stil in-game classified. So we won't expect consistent performance across all PCs. What I did is play the game on my PS3. Yeah, it is 30fps, but waaaay better than the emulator's laggy performance.

@@RevAdil1 My dad also has an Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 2.40GHz (Cores: 14 Threads: 28) even though it has 28 threads it still gives this slow fps depending on where the camera is I really wanted to find out what causes this I thought it was the threads but it's not, I've tried to do as much as possible in the low configs settings and nothing worked something tells me that the rpcs3 rsx has something to do with it because it only appears in the log when the camera slows down

@@JC3178 I did mine using the ratchel collection for the ps3 step 1: get total commander, download a plugin for to extract psarc files step 2: open each psarc file for ratchet 2 & 3 and place them in different folders (using total commander, guides should be on yt) step 3: copy a psarc and make it empty (and replace the one in each game with) then place the contents of the each psarc in the root of the game file for each game (so r2 psarc contents in the r2 root & r3 in the r3 root) this is to force the game to load the extracted folders & not the heavily encrypted psarc. (it should like this in windows. ratchet collection/PS3_GAME/USDIR/rc3/ps3data) and inside the ps3data there should be a shitton of folders step: 4 look through the armor for ratchet & clank 2 armor files, should be under global->armor in the ps3data (each armor is made out of 4 files) the carbonox should be armor 4 (if its not then it crashes the game open loading) step 5 copy and paste the armor4 (all 4 files) into a different folder and then thats done for now. after trial and error i found out that in the r3 game files, armor6 & armor7 is the snowman and tux sets, if you can live without those then simply rename the armor4 files to armor6 or armor7 then paste them into the r3 armor folder (replace the old) (as a side note, you can get the multiplayer skins this way if you rename the armor sets thats over 9 or 10 if i remember correctly) step 6: enjoy! its a very simple plug & play mod, its just getting to what you need is a the hard part.

the thing is at least on my machine i had severe input lag on the ps2 version of ratchet 1 and the game also froze on kerwan so i just gave up
Ratchet and clank 2 still has severe FPS drops in the Maktar Resort stage.

I fixed the issue by changing the firmware. I don't know why some games run on older firmware than newer ones
What firmware version did you have before downgrading? And what version you downgraded to? Im crashing at the menu too
