    Pegg co-wrote a UK TV comedy series with Jessica Stevenson called ‘Spaced’. She plays Yvonne who appears at 7:07. It was directed by Edgar Wright and one episode where Peggs character starts hallucinating after playing Resident Evil 2 was the inspiration for ‘Shaun of the Dead”.

    I love that Diane survives, even though you don't see it! She used David's leg as a weapon when she realised that he was dead and then scaled a tree to avoid the mob. She passed out in the tree and woke up to see that the Winchester had burnt down. Being cautious, she stays in the tree and eats David's leg for a few days, then comes down to discover that the place was quarantined and that things are returning to normal. She then moved to Birmingham to live with her Aunt and keeps in touch with Liz and Shaun via postcards.

  • @ravenofroses
    @ravenofroses Год назад +19

    the ending with ed is sad and kind of fucked-up, but you could also read it as a "happy" ending for ed and shaun because ed gets to play video games forever, and shaun keeps his video games buddy without being held back by ed's mind-boggling stupidity. like you could argue that ed wouldn't be too sad about being a zombie in this scenario because aside from the fact that he probably can't drink alcohol anymore, he can still do what he loves (play video games and hang out with shaun).
    i mean i feel WAY worse for the zombies they have working retail and on game shows tbh, cos if ed and philip are anything to go by, these zombies do retain some semblance of their personality and have noticeable likes and dislikes. and i doubt most of them would have enjoyed pushing carts around or running after chunks of meat while people laugh at them.

    Just so u know a cornetto ice cream is a hangover cure in England maybe other places, also the getting-over Liz monologue is a hint to what happens in the rest of the movie.
    Diana lives, she soon released CPR wouldn't help daffs, so fought her way climbed a tree and fell unconscious waking up to see the pub and area a mess, a couple of days later getting help, she moves away and the country to the USA but keeps in touch with postcards. ( DVD had this extra)

A theme shared with the cornetto trilogy as well (albeit with different genres).]

    The commentator meant "once again" as in "if you are just tuning in". She means "once again" as she is repeating the story for anyone who has just turned on to their station. She isn't saying that it has happened before. They will repeat the same story multiple times in order to reach as many people as possible.
    Also I can say with a reasonable amount of certainty that this is exactly what would happen should a zombie outbreak occur here in Britain. People struggling to leave the city as many people don't own a car, instead using public transport, no guns, and so much sarcasm. In all honesty sarcasm would probably be our first weapon to deal with the situation! And of course, people flocking to the local pub! a cricket bat would be just as effective as a baseball bat in this situation, and what is a common zombie weapon? Baseball bat, it may even be a little better due to the squared shape and having a corner, turned on its side the force would be amplified and it would like break the skull easier than a baseball bat

    A genuinely great reaction! Always good when at least one of the reactors is a first time viewer. And can I just say that Stella is absolutely stunning, good lord lol. She's cute as a damn button, with a sharp personality and a megawatt smile. Kudos to the lucky bastard out there who won that lottery lol

    I'm not British but tbh I think it makes sense not to say C if it's a Z... I mean it's a Z not a C, right?
    Also: looking forward to Hot Fuzz!!! :)

    Despite his character being an absolute twat, in this film, Dylan Moran, who plays David, is a great, Irish stand-up comedian. A good portion of the cast, either co-starred or guest starred on his wonderfully funny series called, Black Books, including Nick Frost, Simon Pegg and the woman playing Diane's counterpart, in Yvonne's group, Tamsin Greig.

    Yes Hot Fuzz is a lot more light hearted, though it has its serious moments too.

    I can't believe that this was a version of the movie edited for the USA, because they left the "C" word in it uncut. But why the F did they change the last scene in the cellar, where they say goodbye to Ed. When Shaun says goodbye and says he loves Ed, Ed's response is his usual one of "GxY" but whoever edited this and put the subtitles up changed it to "cheers". Who the heck is OK with "fuxx" & "cuxt" but not with "gxy" - That a thing in the USA then?
