I made an LED lit coffee table out of bog oak and epoxy resin for my friends Tina and Michi. Read more about bog oak here: www.wood-database.com/bog-oak/

Welcome to my woodworking channel. I am passionate about taking the most wonderful woods mother nature created and turning them into beautiful objects of day to day use. This is not a DIY channel about teaching the woodworking craft, showing you new and nifty techniques about how to build wooden objects or anything alike. It’s about celebrating nature’s beauty and providing inspiration for projects of your own.
Thanks for your support!
Alternative wood names: Bog oak, Abonos, morta, Madera de turbera, Roble de tubera, Quercus, Morta, Roble fosil, Mooreiche, Sumpfeiche Хобби
Handmade smooth and delicate.
Thank you, indeed handmade :D
The angles you positioned the wood and lights, are killing my eyes.
You might need to learn how to close them 😆
@@Woodensoul good job nonetheless but my sledgehammer would come out. I haven't yet mastered the art of closing ones eyes. 😆
Really glad you and your sledgehammer is nowhere close to that table 😜
Wow@
Thanks, Steven 🤩
@@Woodensoul its really beautiful. I'm attempting my 1st table as we speak. Never done any furniture but I've made a lot of shiplap and reclaimed wood walls and ceilings and done a ton of home renovations for many people as a side job so I am pretty experienced in creating things, yet still intimidated by furniture. But my "signature" is that I love to incorporate lights and glowing effects in all my wood walls. So your video here is inspirational to me and now I'm definitely going to consider something similar in my next build. Thanks!
Love to hear it! Have fun and let me know if you have questions
Good Idea !!! Tôi thích sáng tạo với nhựa epoxy
Thank you very much. I also love to go creative with epoxy :D
Amazing 🤯
Thank you 😊
Awesome table if I could I would have it, cool video keep up the good work.🙂
Its nice
Thank you
Bonito
Sick
Thanks... 😃
Fantastic table. I would love to do such a project but getting any decent exotic hardwoods here in the UK is virtually impossible. Bog oak very little chance. We've been cutting down our native hardwood trees for thousands of years to make houses, furniture and ships so there is very little left ! I envy the choice of woods american woodworkers seem to have !
Thank you for your kind words, Chris. But you are mistaken: I am not from
the US. I live in Switzerland, and I source all of my lumber from Europe. It might be that the UK is limited, but you can purchase from other European countries. This particular big oak I bought from Germany on ebay (ebay.de/usr/moorholz). Another trader is ebay.de/usr/mooreiche-subfossile-unikate. And www.espen.de sells pretty much everything you can legally import and ships to all of Europe. Good luck!
Cuando tenga un taller como el tuyo y dinero para tanto epoxy te lo haré saber
listo 🤣
What you applied before using rubio, did tou sealed the wood or it was stain ?
Hi Sagar. No, I didn't seal the wood for this project. Before applying Rubio Monocoat I cleansed with with mineral spirits.
Is awesome! What is the first song? ^^
That is the song "Stalling" from Topher Mohr and Alex Elena: ruclips.net/video/M4PJZWWhgAU/видео.html
Can you also make a LED gaming desk?
What is a “gaming desk”? Like an office desk?
@@Woodensoul ya sort of only very gordy and with many mor leds than this table
Ah, I will do some research
did you put the wood all through it to save epoxy?
Hey. Yes, almost. I left enough room between filler wood and the top, to have room for sanding and make sure that non of the ugly filler wood gets visible
Wooden that’s a really good idea bro thanks hhah
What does the bottom look like.? Bunch of wires and light strips hanging out? Big machines make for lazy endings.. haha cool idea though..
What? The ending shows how I attach the stuff on the bottom part and carved out space for the battery pack. Did you miss it?
Watch from 8:05 - 8:10 does not show end product from bottom view. Did you cover the l.e.d. strips? Or leave them bare?. Did you duct tape them? Did ya MacGyver hubba bubba pen cap it? Did ya use Nice removable covers? All we see is the top finished.
I always MacGyver stuff, thats what I do. But you are right, I rushed the end. The strips were attached with screws as seen in minute 7:30 onwards. The battery pack was attached using a small piece of thin wood ans screws. I didn't cover the strips in addition to that, which I maybe should have to prevent the lights from lighting the floor. Does that help?
I would like to by it
Unfortunately, its not for sale. I made it for friends...
The lights cheapen it...
then leave them off 😆
lo del led que se vea por debajo de la mesa toda la luz no mola!
alumbra más al suelo que otra cosa...
nice now give it to me for free lol
lol, yeah, that’s how things work 😆
I've found great handbook on Stodoys website. Good solutions for everyone I think.
Skipped to around 8:20
and?
It’s nice
thank you 😀
Is that not just a coffee table 😂
yeah, that’s what it is... 😆
@@Woodensoul i dont no why but i thought i read tv table haha
@@roberty945 Hilarious! No, not a TV table at all - the lights might be pretty horrible on your TV...
Robert Charlie table
I dont like the wood in the middle
Are the lights to see your lines of cocaine?
Yeah, correct, don’t want to waste any of that precious powder man 😆
Lol
It may look cool but what a waste of time and money
Why? I certainly had much fun doing it, and fun time is never wasted
