Hey Techne! I appreciate this review! I’m having trouble getting the RGB to stay off when using PlayStation. Any help would be soooo amazing! Watched about 5 hours of your videos yesterday to make this decision ❤️ you are a rockstar
Hi Techne. What aftermarket pads do you recommend for this headset assuming the pads are replaceable. I've read the earcushions aren't very deep and would prefer them to be. Would you recommend upgrading to this from a Black Shark v2 Pro for PS5 use? Thanks. Great video yet again.
Well I miss my hyperx orbit S's... but they broke within the first month or so... and totally broke after 7... I really like the sound and controls. Plus the 3D audio was cool. Specially for tarkov. But I'm excited to try these. I just bought the HS70 pros, to try them out, and I dont like them... so I'll be returning them tomorrow to get these. Thank you for the reviews. Its extremely hard to go back on a cheaper headset, the sound from the Orbits vs HS70 was extremely noticeable. :/
Currently trying the XTs on both Xbox and ps5. Sound is crystal clear but not a lot of bass so keep that in mind. I tried the 9x and while the sound was outstanding I had so many connectivity issues that I had to return them. So far I’m liking the XTs a lot due to the multi function connectivity. Sure with the Xbox it’s a wired connection which is a bummer but, even with the wire you can still have them connected via Bluetooth to your phone or any other device. Big plus. Again 9x is cool and worth a try if you’re strictly Xbox gaming but be aware that you may also have connection issues. So make sure to get them at a store with a solid return policy just in case
@@omarreyes9338 The Steelseries arctis pro wireless is $330 usd at msrp and the virtuoso XT is at $270 usd. Both top of the line for each brand and Corsiar's mic blows Steelseries' mic out of the water while being cheaper.

Yeh its super annoying. But I suspect its just cheaper to manufacture this way. Either way I could never go back to round earcups myself so this product gets a hard pass.
I'll save the trouble 😎 the Arctis pro or infact any Arctis headphones are absolutely rubbish regardless what reviews say, grab a blackshark pro or Asus deltas and be done 😀
@@pezzmania Honestly I feel the Pros are worth it more to me. I like the retractable mic and headband more. Also, the quick change battery of the pro is a must for me. I would just like to see the ultimate comparison.
So after watching your videos I decided to pick up a pair of XT’s. All I can is they are incredible. I’m playing on ps5 so this is straight out the box sound and no EQ adaptations in the software and I find it really interesting when I read comments about how terrible these sound straight out the box 😂. I understand opinions are all subjective but c’mon, even without Dolby atmos or EQ settings enabled these are a fantastic sounding pair of headphones. I’ve recently been hooked on modern warfare 2 and they have just made the experience so much better! I would 1000 percent recommend these headphones
@James-fv1cm thanks man so many people tell me they are bad out of the box, and I was kinda sceptical because you can not save EQS. I've been searching for the perfect Simultaneous use headset with the best mic possible. My search might be done after 3 months
They are definitely not bad out of the box 😂. But if you are talking pure sound for sound there are probably better headphones out there. The reasons why I went for these was no1 the exceptional microphone. I really want a good sounding mic for when I’m gaming because the usual cockpit style microphone just sounds awful. Also the dual connectivity of Bluetooth devices is really good. These days it’s pretty difficult to find a set of headphones that literally tick every major box so it’s a lot of giving and taking I suppose. You could always return them however if they didn’t meet your expectations.
@James-fv1cm yea exactly what I needed to hear and also what I wanted, sound for sound headphone i will buy a competitive wired one anyway for under 100 euros but these will be my chill and game and talk ones because i hate the mic of the nova pro wireless and the price is ridiculous for that shit mic even tho rest of it is very good
I have both my steelseries stopped working tho almost like the Bluetooth receiver stopped working but one thing I don’t like at all about the steel series is the band you use to adjust it to your head other than that the sound seems the same I can’t tell the different but the Corsair I noticed the mic seems to be more sensitive I have to keep the mic far away so I’m not breathing in game like a psychopath
WHAT! I didn't know these were being released. I absolutely loved the Virtuoso SE, but had to return them as they physically hurt the top of my head after prolonged use. I was crying out for more padding on the headband.. looks like they delivered! VERY tempted to pick these up
I had the same issue with them. I loved the build, looks, and sound. I really wanted to keep them, but I just couldn't stand to wear them for more than 30 mins. I picked up a blackshark pro 1 week ago and I'm happy with them.
Had the same issues with the old one, although to me the padding on the earcups was even worse. Ears started to hurt after an hour or so had to return them cause of that. I loved everything else about these but the comfort was non existent tbh.
For me, the earcups were OK as far as shape, but they were really shallow and would leave my ears super hot after 20 minutes or so. The biggest deal was the headband. Digging into my head non stop and giving me a headache even after I took them off. They taught me a valuable lesson though; when picking headsets comfort is first. It doesn't matter how good they look or how good they sound, if all you want to do when using them is to take the damn thing off your head.
First wireless headset that seems to hit all the major marks. Good battery life (15-20 hrs), Great sound quality, Dual wireless (Bluetooth+2.4ghz), Good mic (probably the best wireless mic I've heard by a longshot.)
can you compare it please with artics 9 , logitech g pro x wireless , JBL qunatum 800 or razer blackshark v2 pro ? as far as overall gaming sound / microphone ? so hard to choose and compare
After having the original Virtuoso, no way I gona buy another headset from Corsair ever again xD Such a money grab for mediocre quality. I mean there is a reason why you get the Dolby Atmos, lol, because if you are playing FPS games and rely on directional sound, you are basically screwed with their own "equalizers", sure you can hear sounds happening, but with no idea of where. And their pleather, omfg, $20 Chinese noname's outlasted Corsair's by more than a year. But the worst part is the fact that it's a new normal for corporations to have armies of youtubers that gona positively advert anything
When you switched from your mic to the virtuoso’s mic there wasn’t much difference except the virtuoso’s mic isolated a little more noise Wow! Now that’s impressive

@@DJDing23 me personally yes if I was Pc/PS4-5 but I found out after writing that comment that the Corsairs don’t support the Switch wireless (docked) the way the 9s do. That makes the Corsair’s a big no for me as I’ve been spending more time on the Switch than PC lately. I don’t think you’ll be be disappointed with the 9S though, they do sound pretty solid, I’m just a gear junkie and wanted that better mic and those on board controls for bluetooth.

Don't buy Corsair headsets, those all reviewers say that "Corsair Virtuoso" have good sound quality, and i bought one to my daughter, and sound is sooooo muffled as f*. After that check on YT reviews of normal gamers that have others headsets of gpro, steel, and they say the same "Corsair Virtuoso" is muffled, and reviewers like this one just dont tell truth or they all testing those phones on they back.... so much money muffled headphones.... look at corsair forum, lot of people posting of this problem. i don't trust this guy that any Corsair headphones have good quality...
Been a while for me to actually finish a full review of an accessory that’s not even officially out in my area. Just wowza, I’m not only impressed by the product’s capabilities but also your vivid explanations, fantastic job man, the community need more of this kind of quality stuff.
THIS IS THE PERFECT GAMING HEADSET! NO QUESTION!!!! They nailed the comfort problem from previous virtuosos, they added 4 connection options, they somehow kept their top of the line microphones, and the build quality is one of, if not the the best from a gaming headset. Steelseries is gonna have to push out a big one to beat this headset. The Corsair virtuoso rgb XT is in my opinion the new best wireless gaming headset on the market. (If not the best overall gaming headset on the market.) Definitely picking this baby up straight away! And not to mention this headset was so good, it made the legend, the techne himself box up is beloved Arctis pro wireless! Which is very very very surprising since in an earlier video he said he could not move to another headset other than the Arctis pro wirelsss. *Now that’s saying something.*
Why the new Virtuoso XT when compared to the $299 Audeze Penrose? With the XT army $279, we are traveling in the same circles. Which should I buy as a gamer, who wants as much (reliable) function as possible, and the cool Fred of being cutting edge?
@@CoreyEarlie I belive the code I used is PSI or psi. I found it online cause honey wasn't finding anything. All I know is that it worked. The code works on the Corsair Website.
i replaced my steel series 9x with these. Better in every way except the fit and feel. Steel series headband and ear cups are so good and these don’t clamp as much as i like. However the sound and features are better and I always had issues pairing with my steel series.
@@TheTechne Think I have to give the new Virtuoso XT's the nod. Replaced the earcups with some thicker ones off Amazon and they were perfect for me (before my ears still touched drivers). The Virtuoso's sounded much more accurate in music/gaming whereas the Arctis sounded muddy to me personally. Wish the Virtuoso's had a chat mix dial & EQ settings carried over to consoles, but hey I'll trade that for the much more solid build quality. For now Virtuoso > Arctis (pending a SS refresh to the lineup).
YES YES YESSSSS. Finally, I loved the virtuoso but when I tried it it was not comfortable and had no Bluetooth. And this is the new one is what I exactly needed. Best looking for sure, high quality and amazing at all. Thank you so much for these fast and good reviews

@@kingclassified8503 what do you mean? The only thing that need to be fixed was the comfort. And the sound and mic are exactly the same on the xt as from the se.
This is my first time watching one of your reviews and I'm an automatic subscriber. Your personality combined with the way you present are on another level!
I owned the original Viruoso ES Edition headset and I absolutely hated it. I returned it within 24 hours of owning it. I hated it because I LOVED everything about it, but I couldn't wear it...It was so damn UNCOMFORTABLE. It squeezed my head like crazy, hurt my ears, and It gave me terrible headaches. I have never had that issue with any other gaming headset in the past. Did they fix that at all with this new version??
A week of use and my current quick thoughts: Comfortable as hell, with a premium feel. The mic is damn amazing, and the sound (right out the box) is pretty great. That said, man oh man, I wish we could EQ this for consoles. I use this on my PS5 and its crystal clean, no white noise, and the soundstage is awesome but man, I feel like I'm missing out on these cup's true potential since the EQ does not carry over to my PS5. I can only wonder if that's something that can be firmwared in, and stored in the dongle (I think a few headsets have that ability) or not. If anything, the PS5 could do wonders with a built in EQ app, that works with third party headsets. Aside from that, I still really like these.
@@thecwwshow8036 Tbh, I actually stopped using them. The fact that I couldn't EQ them, on PS5, and a couple drops had me back to using my Arctis Pro Wireless. Given that I can adjust the sound profile, on the APW, it brings more life to those vs the out of the box flat tone of the XT. I'm holding onto the XT just in case my GF needs them for her PC, as these are just a better PC headset
@Techne Bought my Virtuoso XT’s yesterday because of this review. I needed the Bluetooth function also, but more so because my wife likes to call my cell phone while I’m gaming in my man cave and I’m sick of whipping off my PC38x’s!! I love them so far, but, however, they aren’t quite as “Stinkin’ Cozy” as my PC38x’s. I checked Wicked Cushions website - no compatible cushions for Virtuoso? Any ideas? There are some Amazon choices, but most without any reviews. Thanks! Love you man, keep doing what you do!
Man, looks like Corsair is doing thing well. I'm totally happy with my HS60, maybe soon to be a HS70 to move into wireless, and this Virtuoso looks like reeeally good!
Idk this is approaching amp/dac with studio headphone pricing. Sure you still need to get a separate mic but its crazy how much more gaming headsets costs. I guess if you just want one set of headphones for pc, console and your phone its not bad. Man I can't even justify the pricing I just spent $150 on the g pro superlight. lol
Awesome review, I was psyched when I saw this. Drove first thing to pick up the last unit they had from best buy. I gotta say, it these are just not doing it for me. I rotate between the Astro a50 Gen 4 and Arctis Pro and these fall short of both of those, by a lot. Mic is phenomenal though.
@@BenGuardian Comfort, is my guess, Techne has pretty small ears, or I just have extremely large ones. The driver wall is flat and the ear cushions aren't very deep , allthough better than the original virtuoso.
I dont know man, ive decided to try them, found one on my local best buy and scooped it up, but beside the new bells and whistles, this is still the same virtuoso, you really need to EQ this thing to get a decent sound, i dont know bout you guys, but to me paying a $270 premium price for a headset, the least i want is good sound profile out of the box, the fact that i need to dabble on to that EQ is a no no for me, which means, good sound only on PC, which leads me to my second point, for that price, i expect good sound all around, 3.5, wireless, bluetooth. but nope. everywhere except pc, we are stuck with the crappy profile sound, not worthy of a 270 price tag. Returning mine today.
I really love your review on this one❤️ I also really like this headset. I own the arctics pro wireless. It’s almost the perfect headset. I dislike it’s mic a lot. But the exchangeable battery is sooooo good. If the XT had a exchangeable battery I would switch to this bad boy immediately although I just recently got the arctics

You are absolutely being paid to lie if you say these over the SS Pros 😂😂 the settings don’t save to ps5.. wired has such an amazing soundstage better than these. Wireless has an EQ as well that you can always change. Probably doesn’t look better than the XT’s not gonna lie. Comfort could be equal with XT’s being slightly better. But bro. I been a huge fan of your headset reviews and you’re a major influence in my pro wired buy a few years ago. But no way you’re this quick to switch to the XT’s with honestly not very many reasons why they are actually “better” than the pros.
Just purchased this ones on Best Buy and being honest...I am not impressed about sound quality. Actually is kind of disappointed. I bought them because I listen a lot of music while working or having meetings with customers and the cushions for the ears are fake leather that makes you sweat. Cover the ears but leaves a spot open so you can hear what is outside. Not really sound isolation. 2 Volumen buttons its kind of dumb. Also you need to disconnect the cabe to the USB (from cable to Bluetooth) and ALSO you need to switch the button from cable to Bluetooth ... I dont know man... I love the quality and sound isolation of Apple AirPods max but I hate the mic (really Bad)..I have right now also a Jabra ones...are AMAZING...but they are with cable and the wireless are way expensive but rather to pay 300 for the wireless Jabra (easy, easy, amazing sound and quality, isolation, button for mute, possibility to change mic from left to right, etc) and not pay 200 like i did for this Virtuosos XT...
The EQ's still don't transfer from device to device? That's really disappointing. The SE's sounded absolutely awful on Valhalla and I couldn't adjust it. Guess I wont be getting these either. Bummer.
Man, I have been trying headsets like CRAZY. I have the Corsair HS70's which are fine, but I really wanted one with a 3.5mm so I could plug it into my Focusrite when I do some VO work. I tried the Razer Kraken, and Razer Blacksharks which both had a weird Synapse issue with Sidetone where it just doesn't exist. I tried the Virtuoso XT which was fine, and with Techne's recommendation of Wicked Cushions, it was WAY better. But I'm not sure if they were worth the money. I may try them again. I just can't seem to find the perfect pair.
Bought it yesterday night i know your video is 3 years old but i hope it holds what u say cause i had a Razer Kraken Ultimate bevor but the Ear Muffles started leaking Cooling Gel and i needed a new Headset so i hope its good got it for 200Euro.
Pretty much, if you already have the SE, you don't need to upgrade unless you want the BT feature and the slightly beefed up padding. They are the same audio quality and same drivers both wired and wireless.

Did anyone else experience intense headache after wearing the SE for some time? I returned it because it was unbearable. I wonder if this new XT will have the same problem. T___T
I actually picked them up off your recommendation but after a day of testing I decided to return them. Their sound quality next to the HyperX Cloud II Wireless isn’t that much better for the more than $90 difference at this time. After about 2 hours of use I could also feel how weight of them. It became rather uncomfortable. It does make me sad because the design of this set is beautiful. There is just too much going against it to keep them unfortunately. I would not recommend them for longer use case.
@@joshuareveles doesn’t replace the sound quality. Out of the box they’re flat and boring. I’m not a sound technician nor do I have time to go through the presets that even after investigation didn’t bring out much if any bass in the fair sized speakers.
Great review as always! I've bought a few things now on your recommendations and they all been good.(Hyper X 60% keyboard and the Roccat Kone air and love both) I've been scanning through your reviews and it looks like it between the Vituoso XT and the Audeze Penrose... Out of th Virtuoso XT & Audeze Penrose which one do I go with guys?!
I'm going to gave to say, this gaming headphones does sound good, but after a year of usage, the batteries can't hold charge. The worst and stupid thing about this headphone is, it keeps saying "CHARGING BATTERY" every fcking 5 minutes and it's out of the blue too. It also randomly disconnects for a quick 2 seconds and it'll say Connecting. For the build quality, it is pretty good, but for the performance wise, no. The iCUE app from corsair is garbage, still has bugs. I have to keep this crap running in order for RGB to work.
Hello , first i want to thank you for going into details on this headset, ive been looking for someone to explained why my profile coraaie selections on the computer doesnt transfer to my ps5 with dongle. Im still unable to transfer my logo color selection when i connect it to my ps5. Any tips?
Oh my.... Bought it refurbished from Corsair and.... it falls off my head. Other than that it was working very well for me. Very hot for comfort so would for sure require the ear cushions bought separately. Unfortunately will be a return for me. No clamp force at all for my head
Do the cushions have a model name or number? I received mine a week ago and one of the cushions seems to be permanently squashed. I don't know if I'm looking at the correct replacement part on corsair. There's HS50/60 and HS70/70SE?
I was pumped to get these headsets to replace my logitech g935's that i had for a few years now but my main complaint is that the XT's sound way worse than the Suround sound on my G935's The XT's Bluetooth feature is really convenient and the package is pretty but personally i feel there is a huge deficit in sound quality compared to my old Logitech ones. I tried playing around with the sound profiles in corsair and dolby app but either way it just sounds blurry in a way compared to my logitech ones. unfortunately I plan on returning my XT's

*The mic does not work for xbox. Sound only. I did buy these thinking the mic would work for PS, xbox, and PC. So far they do not work for xbox. Idt they do. Also as of right now, their customer service isn't the best. Its a website automated messaging. Then send a ticket request to get in contact with someone after 1-3 days (which they have not contacted me back yet) 3d audio does work with PS5 but 7.1 surround sound does not. Its weird that us as consumers can't just get universal headsets with multiple functions for each platform. Imagine if you could only use specific gas stations that are only compatible with your car based on the manufacturer of your vehicle. Sure you have a BP near your house, but your car doesn't work with their gas. That's how I feel playing on my xbox with friends knowing my PS corsair head set is better, but I can't talk to anyone. Great headset. But for the price, idk. If you have both consoles and on a budget. I'd say don't break the bank for these. Or, if you decide to break that bank. Get something with 3d audio and 7.1 surround sound.
Ok so just an observation as I'm not an audio guy and know wlvery little. I have watched 2 other reviews of the mic test and in those other reviews the mic sounded underwhelming and kinda not great... so I'm wondering if in this video (as it sounded phenomenal) if he accidentally was testing the mic through his eq setup of his recording mic making it sound so much better and different than other reviewers...??? Anyone??
What EQ settings do you suggest for this? None of the Dolby Atmos ones sound good at all, it's lacking depth and bass. Playing CSGO feels terrible, almost like you're under water
Same. So far 10mm larger drivers and bigger frequency response range on the mic and USB C (vs micro USB) on the XT's. I prefer the retractable mouse on my Arctis 9's tho.

Big plus. Yeh its super annoying. But I suspect its just cheaper to manufacture this way. Either way I could never go back to round earcups myself so this product gets a hard pass.

I would be interested to see a comparison between the Arctis Pros and these for a one on one why you like these better.
I'll save the trouble 😎 the Arctis pro or infact any Arctis headphones are absolutely rubbish regardless what reviews say, grab a blackshark pro or Asus deltas and be done 😀
@@valcomaustralia Not the reasons I want to know. I own both the pro wired and wireless and quite like them.
One of the reason why I have an Arctis Pro is Techne's reviews. How can he do this to us??? 😁
@@pezzmania Honestly I feel the Pros are worth it more to me. I like the retractable mic and headband more. Also, the quick change battery of the pro is a must for me. I would just like to see the ultimate comparison.
The Arctis Pro Wireless has a bad white noise issue.
your vibe and your videos are amazing
thank you so much :)
Could you pinpoint and get an edge on footsteps with these?
Absolutely it’s probably the first thing you’ll notice 👍
@James-fv1cm yea exactly what I needed to hear and also what I wanted, sound for sound headphone i will buy a competitive wired one anyway for under 100 euros but these will be my chill and game and talk ones because i hate the mic of the nova pro wireless and the price is ridiculous for that shit mic even tho rest of it is very good
Can we get a video comparison between the arctis 7p/x and the virtuoso xt? Or at least a final decision which one is better?
I have both my steelseries stopped working tho almost like the Bluetooth receiver stopped working but one thing I don’t like at all about the steel series is the band you use to adjust it to your head other than that the sound seems the same I can’t tell the different but the Corsair I noticed the mic seems to be more sensitive I have to keep the mic far away so I’m not breathing in game like a psychopath
@@gunaddickt interesting thanks for the information
WHAT! I didn't know these were being released. I absolutely loved the Virtuoso SE, but had to return them as they physically hurt the top of my head after prolonged use. I was crying out for more padding on the headband.. looks like they delivered! VERY tempted to pick these up
In all my excitement I forgot to say how great of a review this was, again.
P.S. pls ship to Europe soon
I wouldn’t get your hopes up these headphones are not that comfortable.

After having the original Virtuoso, no way I gona buy another headset from Corsair ever again xD
Such a money grab for mediocre quality.

Arctis 9 have rubbish sound quality...
Have you used Audeze Penrose ? What is the sound difference ?

I have never had that issue with any other gaming headset in the past. Did they fix that at all with this new version??
The ending WAS FIRE! The music towards the end after you said “this is my new main”, had perfect timing!
How is the battery life now at 5ish month?
@@thecwwshow8036 Tbh, I actually stopped using them. The fact that I couldn't EQ them, on PS5, and a couple drops had me back to using my Arctis Pro Wireless. I love them so far, but, however, they aren’t quite as “Stinkin’ Cozy” as my PC38x’s. I checked Wicked Cushions website - no compatible cushions for Virtuoso? Any ideas?
Mic is phenomenal though.
may I ask why you didnt like them?

Will you review the Audeze Penrose/Penrose X? Great reviews btw.

Anyone??
Im using this with my Samsung Fold 4 and iPad Pro 12.9" 2022...is there an "iq" app or any other for the headset or no? Thanks.
What EQ settings do you suggest for this? None of the Dolby Atmos ones sound good at all, it's lacking depth and bass. Playing CSGO feels terrible, almost like you're under water
Ah oh, a competition for steelseries arctis 9 wireless? Just bought the arctis 9 but might have to test these corsair headsets to compare
Same. So far 10mm larger drivers and bigger frequency response range on the mic and USB C (vs micro USB) on the XT's. I prefer the retractable mouse on my Arctis 9's tho.
