Hot take: The Klippan couch is actually great, but not as a couch. My parents had 2 of the blue ones in the basement when I was a kid, and I have fond memories of my siblings and I pushing both couches together to make a sort of boxed in play-pen. Lots of imagination happened inside that couch box.
I am not surprised the listed items are not liked by this person. All of them are literally the cheapest you can buy at Ikea. If you buy a $10 plastic chair it is ridiculous to expect it to look and behave as $300 wood chair. The solar lights with fabric coverings are not even intended to be left out in the rain for months. I use mine in covered patio and hang in the open yard only in special occasions. Mine have lasted already 3 years here in Texas, hence I would suggest anyone to use them in covered areas. Simply if you buy by the cheapest price, you get generally the cheapest quality. But there is a way for crafty people to hack very nice stuff with easily added fronts, paints and other materials thar create unique but still cheap items.
Love the lack 13 years ago I was kicking myself for not buying more lack just bought more, basic things mix so easily, and buying in thrift is fine if you have tons of space I like the Henry Link, bamboo, Tommy Bahama, wicker rattan pieces at our thrift stores just as much as the next gal but they’re pretty huge.
For those who don't live in climates with harsh weather, I've had the wood tiles on the *covered* and screened-in portion of my patio for about a year and a half and they've held up phenomenally, even against my toddler who has his water table on them and draws chalk on them. I live in North Carolina, for reference. I'd recommend them to people with similar circumstances to my own.
Love the wooden tiles, live in Germany so we have lots of snow and harsh weather from October till March - I always clean up the entire balcony, bring the tiles together under cover, I see no issue with that - it takes an hour... Also we protected them with a wood outdoor treatment coat...
@@terezapavoukova3208 Hi Tereza, I live in Germany, too. Berlin. I think that here in Northern Europe, people tend to put more consideration into the maintenance of products before they buy them. Particularly because getting rid of them is a challenge. I have had the Runnen wood tiles on my balconies for five years now, but recently I cannot maintain them as I would like due to health issues. They are starting to show wear, yes, also because my dog loves them a bit too much. However, when lightly sanded, cleaned and treated like regular decking, they are just as good. I love them, too. No regrets, but people need realistic expectations regarding their circumstances and the understanding that all things degrade with time and require regular maintenance. I know of no better product for the same price
I saw the wood tiles in a photo a friend shared and I was smitten! I covered the concrete floor of my enclosed front porch with them two years ago and they still look fantastic. I live in an area with very unpredictable winters, and so would probably never put them outside, but love them in what has become my four-season sun porch.
Hi I'm from HK, here we don't have harsh winters but our spring & summer is really wet. We get typhoons or rainstorm signals like every other week🤣 may I ask your feelings of the tiles with rain? Can they stand heavy rains or even slight floods? Thanksss 🙏
The ikea lighting section is actually my favourite part! I have 5 ikea lamps at this point, including the holmo. I have it in my bedroom though and it's a really soft, warm glowy kind of light for me. I can see why it may not work how you were trying to use it in the living room though.
I LOVE the lint rollers! They are triangles and so much easier to peel than square ones. All the other products I agree. Not good investments. The Lack tables are good for kids tables though, because I don’t care if they scratch or get marked. 6 years and still holding up. Stickers and marker included.
I love those paper lantern string lights, but I can't imagine them being marketed for outdoor use! They're......fabric. I've used the electric ones indoors for years though, those are great I have some hanging in my bedroom on a timer right now.
The Lack series is ideal if you have small kids. It is sturdy enough to last a few years, you know you won't be heartbroken if there's a scratch or some color on it, and you can always get a new one cheap if it gets really messed up. Plus, it matches almost anything. We combined Lack with Expedit (Pre-Kallax), works well together. Oh, and it's easy to build stuff out of Lack products... ;)
so interesting! I actually love the langfjäll chair & klippan couch! had both for several years and we made klippan work for 2 people even and i could sleep on it nicely even though its so small
Yes! I used to have that chair as my primary WFH office chair before buying a Capisco chair and loved it - so did my back! It was actually thanks to it being harder than most office chairs. Its just a matter of preference :)
Work at IKEA for 25 years. When i started at IKEA it was great , nowadays it sucks. Im a shame how bad quality of products i tries to sell and how badly we treat our customers when they ex buy kitchen. Dont expect to go to ikea to buy a kitchen and its all delivered at one time. It needs at least 4 more trips to ikea
I have an enormous wardrobe from Ikea that has mirrored doors on it. Fortunately the previous owners of my house bought it and installed it. That's one thing about Ikea furniture--yes, you assemble it, but it isn't really designed to be disassembled and reassembled. If I ever sell this house the next owner will get the wardrobe too. Years ago my husband and I bought a smaller Ikea wardrobe and basically broke it while trying to assemble it. We had to lean it up in a corner of the bedroom to keep it from collapsing, lol.
Balcony tiles also are not meant for the summers: we have very soft winters here in switzerland, and summers are long and hot. So, these tiles survived 2 summers, and then plastic started to fall apart. Pieces were breaking off each time we walked on them. Another problem is the dirt that collects under these tiles. All the organic waste, bugs started to live there. Altogether - horror, absolute horror.
They lasted through 6 years of Danish weather so maybe definitely buy weather appropriate tiles. You would probably need to sand them down, clean and oil them too for best maintenance.
I've always been curious about this problem...how people can clean underneath it? I mean, the product would be great if it wasn't for all those crevices...but I can't stop think about all the bugs and the dirt underneath it. Thank you for giving voice to my thoughts 💭
@@bumblebee898 We have the plastic tiles, we use a leaf blower once a month when dry and and it seems to keep it at bay. 1 year into the tiles now, would not get the wood ones although they look nice.
@@ChuckMorton I’m with you on that. My plastic tiles have survived 4 Scottish winters so far with no sign of deterioration. They are laid on ugly concrete slabs with a tarpaulin in between. There is hardly any debris falling into the crevices between the tiles. I sweep it occasionally mainly because of falling leaves or moss which has fallen from my roof. The tiles are not on a balcony but are on a large paved courtyard in back garden, totally exposed to the elements. In winter they can get a bit slippy if it’s frosty but I seldom venture out there in the winter anyway.
I have to disagree with some of these, I love lack, as long as you don’t have more than one or two lack items in each room. I have the console table and love it, and so many of my friends have the coffee table and it looks great! And I’ve never seen anyone having the klippan couch at home, but I feel like it’s a stable at waiting rooms, schools and places like that, and they work great there☺️
Great list 😄👍 I have to say I love my XL white Lack coffee table because it does so many jobs in my tiny minimalist apartment. Its a big clean looking coffee table, the perfect wide work surface for arts and crafts, a great permanent back drop for product/food photography, and it has seated 8 people for an impromptu lunch once! Its one of those items that I feel like was a huge bang for my buck. 🥰
So interesting! Though we have great experience with the langfjäll chairs. We use them around our main table for 9 months now and i regularly do work on them. And the lack series has its place in student or kids rooms! They are also great to diy and upgrade. But what i love IKEA for, is their return policy. Whatever you buy and nomatter if you used it for months, you can return it with the receipt no questions asked. If you are ikea family member (its free) and scan the card with every purchase, all your purchases are archived and you dont even need the receipt. Thats why i often give ikea the advantage over other stores! You never have to stick with an unwanted item, ever!
Not sure about the point made about the tiles (I have those as well on my balcony). I live in a similar climate and after the first 12 months I covered those with special oil, and now the color is simply rich and fantastic (probably even better than when I bought it). I am prepared to do this each season, so I think it should be fine, but we shall see of course.
I know it´s a year later but I just went on a rant that klippan sofa is extremely comfortable, much more than other much more expensive couches. :D. I have a bad back, it´s just simpe + comfortable.
For about $10 US, you can get Quikrete QUIK-TUBE 8 in. x 48 in. Building Form Tube… cut it into 3 separate 16” pieces and use some cardboard or wood rounds at the ends… then cover it all in whatever you want.. and attach/put them under your 3 Holmo lamps to make them a bit taller until you can get something you like better :)
I bought a secondhand cream Klippan as a place holder whilst I searched for my ideal sofa. I didn’t want to spend thousands without a sitting test, and COVID struck. Well I still have my Klippan and I’m happy with it! Some comfy cushions and a throw and it’s fine. The added bonus is that the wide arms are perfect for cat lounging.
Lack is so versatile, you can do so much with it and there are plenty of hacks out there. My ikea solar lights have been great but I put them on covered areas - they perform better than the ones from amazon.
I had the klippan couch in my first student apartment. I only had it for a year before getting rid of it. I’ve also had lack coffee tables, mainly because I could never find a coffee table I liked, and I would always just get the cheapest one at ikea to hold me over until I found the right one. I did this for 3 flats (different countries so couldn’t move it from place to place) before buying a proper coffee table. I also have the office chair, but I don’t mind it, it suited my work from home needs during the pandemic. Only regret is getting a blue one, but it was slim pickings when everyone was furnishing their home offices! 😂
Nice list :-) Lack I actually have to work in crisis countries for my research and there is no better piece of super light furniture that you can put in a suitcase and make the most horrible space somewhere in the middle of nowhere look really cozy. Of course here at my save home in Germany I would never use it :-)
Lack is still gold! We started with it when we got our first house. Prefer any Lack over any 2nd hand product. The sticky roller works good on clothes with hairs.
Thanks for the heads up about the Listerby. The light was was on my list to buy. Too late for me on the Klippan sofa, which I agree that is totally for somewhere that never needs to be sat on. My son has it under his loft bed, and whenever I peek in, he laying on the floor in front of it.
Klippan has been an essential on student’s rooms. They’re not too bad, you can sit comfortably, granted you have a large cushion supporting your back, as the back of the sofa is quite low. As for the lighting, I agree some of them are atrocious and they don’t even provide adequate lighting, but some other are absolutely gorgeous. For example Lauters floor lamp ash white is an amazing product. The frame is somewhat like a tripod made from solid ash wood and has a clear lacquer as a finish. Great quality and design. The lamp shade is plain, but looks very nice combined with the frame. You can adjust the height of the lamp and you can roll the excessive cord around a cylinder at the bottom that makes it look like a rope. It costs only £55 and so far is the best floor lamp I have ever had for that amount of money. I adore it
It’s very obvious that those lights and tile are not for harsh weather. The price and the materials reflect this fact. If you need something stronger for outdoor go to Home Depot. Also, you can bring IKEA back in Canadian stores within 365 days, it’s said at the back of receipt.
For me though, Lack TV stands are very great for almost anything you need some space on the ground for. We use this as an even smaller coffee table since it fits even three sets of dishes to eat in front of the TV. Also it's the perfect height for a foot rest after you put the dishes on the shelf beneath the stand. That's the way I use it since some years and to me, that is 15€ well spent on something so versatile and not space wasting. Thank you still for your video! :)
Oh, wow. :) I have Klippan for 30 years now. A white one, with sleeping option. I loved it all the way. To me, it was super comfortable for laying and lounging with legs up, over, down the arm rests...It's perfect to lay and relax especially if you, like me, love to keep your legs elevated in comfy position. I guess it all depend on needs and way we use the furniture. With few throw pillows it proved to be a comfy sitting sofa as well. I loved that the cover was washable and changeable. Oh, well.... :) XO
I use my IKEA lint roller every day…I have a cat and I always roller my clothing on my way out of the house. I find them excellent value and they work very well.
Thanks for the info about the solar lights, I was actually thinking of getting them and now I'm glad I went for some stuff from Amazon instead. My least favourite product of theirs (apart from Lack series, which you'd already mentioned) would be Marius stools - they're incredibly uncomfortable to sit on (so I repurposed them as end tables) and no matter how many times I try to fix them they remain incredibly wobbly.
The holmo you can make another type of lamp shade and put it on something to elevate it from the floor. The stiky lint thing... is the best stiky one in my contry 😔
I am very glad I found your channel! I live in Sweden, but I no longer buy furniture and trinkets from IKEA. The quality has become worse than 30-40 years ago. I bought a kitchen table in solid birch a long time ago. They don't make those anymore. Another good buy from IKEA is a chrome and frosted glass floor lamp that was produced in few copies for the end of the millennium in Art Deco style. A chest of drawers and a bedside table are ok but as soon as I find something that better matches my taste they will go out. I am so grateful that I had the inspiration not to buy my kitchen island from IKEA. I bought it online from Germany and built it myself for half the price. It is stylish and of the highest quality. IKEA has got competition!
Klippan sofa is great. I have a bad back, I was sort of looking at sofas for about 2 years, ended up with klippan, because even though it was cheap it was much more comfortable to sit on then so many other much more expensive sofas... Currently staying (long term) in another city/flat and thinking of buying another one for this apartment because my back hates the sofa here...
I must say that my experience of ikea furniture is very good. Me snd my husband moved in together as students in 1977 and bought what we could afford: ivar shelfes. I still use them, they still look good and is now in my sommerhouse still. Over the years I haved picked what I need at ikea and with 2 wild sons it all lasted. I think people really do not pay attention how to assembled the furniture. Seen lots of youtube videos that make me wonder why there is so many ilitterat people. A child could fallow the instructions. It is also the way you choose, if you whant it to last don’t choose the cheapest and worst materials. The thing about ikea is that it is simple, it is not meant to be crazy decorated , it is swedish !
We like the furniture for relatively cheap kid furniture (like 6 dressers etc) but one caveat I'd say is don't plan to move with it. We moved cross country and I don't think one drawer slides the way it did before. Everything is just wonky. They are still function and we kept them but they aren't fun and smooth like before. Also several corners broke or bent and since it's particle board you can't just glue it back together easily. But hey, that price🤑
Damn that list hits home! For everything except the Solvinden lights, I've been using these for a couple of years and happy with them, but all else was such a good list!
I disagree with your review of the klippan. Though I have to admit I never used it as a couch. I actually slept on it for a year and a half when I was living by myself in a 1 bedroom apartment. Beautifully firm and never lost its firmness. To each his own.
I have the Runnen tiles; forgot to cover them before winter arrived and now they're all faded and meh. Gonna oil them up now that it's finally getting warmer and we shall see how they turn out. Thankfully I only have a tiny balcony so it wasn't that expensive (I think I bought 4 packs of them)
Sand them a bit, vacuum well and clean with a damp cloth. Let dry thoroughly and then use the right oil for outdoor use. You will be very happy with them ☺️
I love my Långfjäll chair. It was such a hassle to get the armrests tho but I love it. It's the most comfortable chair I ever had. I like the harder seating but I can understand if someone doesn't. Plus they are used in my favorite TV Show (Supergirl) so that's a plus 😅🤷🏻♂ And I am very grateful that you mentioned the Deck Tiles. I was about to get them since I am about to move out. I live in Germany and where I live we don't get the harshest of winters but sometimes it can snow (even if it hasn't for the last 2 or 3 years). However, the balcony I am about to have (if I win the apartment) is covered so it can't get that snowy. I will see. First I have to get that apartment (it is a lottery thing, where all people that want the apartment apply for it, and after a time it's randomly chosen via a lottery)
Ikea has always had plain, ugly (IMO) sofas. And they used to all have slipcovers which I am not a fan of. Well, maybe now that i have a leather couch that needs to be covered because of dogs with claws, I can see their usefulness, but they always look ill-fitting.
Gotta say I love the Lack line. We have had a number of the small square $10 tables over the years. They are perfectly functional, and inexpensive enough to pass along to folks in a pinch. We have a longer two-layer coffee table that’s been serviceable for years. They are light weight and easy to move/reposition. They blend into most spaces pretty unobtrusively. Granted, I am not a fashionable person. But I think they serve my purposes well. :)
Agree! I've got five Lack tables around my apartment - one next to bed, two next to Klippan sofa, one by front door, one inside closet, plus one given to my older neighbor that holds bowl of canned cat food, dry cat food, water bowl, plus her cat when eating, because it's difficult for my neighbor to bend down to the floor.
Agree as well! I also diyed several kid tables and shelves with the lack series! They are easy to cut/saw and you can assemble different pieces together. Great value for the money 👍
... i was jealous when watching makeovers using the tiles, because here, where I live, there's no IKEA; and i' ve always wanted to buy them. but your review has made me feel better about not getting it.
I think the lack series is good if you’re on a serious budget and don’t have the extra money any time soon, in the uk even thrift stores sell second hand furniture at a high price, the same with market place, it’s either solid wood at like £100-£300 a piece or second hand ikea stuff that’s falling apart 😞
I bought the Pahl desk (Ikea code: 891.289.53) on white back in 2020 when i switched to working from home. The desk looked nice at first, however, it scratches very easily, the material used to cover the edges chips like crazy and being white it requires a lot of cleaning to look decent constantly. Also, the pieces that connect the legs have 2 screws, which need to be tightened every so often, as they want to get loose. One of the worst ikea items i had. I would also like to mention Besta and Malm, as they are functional and decent looking, however, they don't bring too much to a room, and especially Besta furniture has a weird/uncomfortable height.
The lint roller is for clothes not furniture. Like cat hair. Works great then. Otherwise a good list. I started out with lack furniture in my student apartment but now in my ”regular” apartment real Wood ones def looks and feels better and more longlasting.
I like the solar lights, put them in the Patio not exposed to rain so they still look decent after 2.5 years. And they do work fine, glowing the whole night, so might be an issue with the one you bought. The rest, as far as I can tell, totally agree! The lint thingie is just awful! And you just helpdesk me save some money not buying the console table, that has been on my wishlist 🙂 also Lack: yes! Same for me, will avoid at any cost! I though it would look somewhat cool for low Budget but it deteriorates soooo quickly.
eek! Yes, I bought the lamp that was made of paper and it didn't put off any light at all back in 2006.... sheesh... takes me back to my first apartment. chalk it up to inexperience. Fast forward to around 2016, I bought an extremely expensive lamp at Ikea however like around $180 for the floor lamp with a giant round shade, made of metal, and the bulbs were it's own Ikea brand. This lamp is now a visual piece in my new home. The difference between a $15 and $180 I guess
If you have bad weather you need to stain those tiles to protect them 🤣 Just like a wood deck.. Common sense you would think 🤔 Great video though thanks for the tips 😊
I love the Lack end tables. Strong enough to hold my huge fern in the winter (he lives outside in summer) and still room for cups, just the right height for my couch and I paid $7 for it!
Interesting! I bought a langfjäll chair - didn´t recline properly, so I called the hotline - of course they had nEveR hEaRD oF tHiS prOBLeM beFOre so I returned the chair and got another one of the same kind - It has the very same problem. I kept it and I find it comfortable - but gosh the hours of my life it has cost me... most annoying IKEA experience.
aww i really miss holmo since they got discontinued here. once i dyed the lamp india ink ombré and it was much prettier (before breaking it when i moved lol)
Why not diy , go to the free gift lists and get crafty with cleaning products, paint, de to make your own kind of style and pretty perfect. Or go vintage in yardsales, (vintage can be finding the latest furniture on craig s list or at the neighboor who are moving out. ) What is fascinating is that some of their best most wanted items will never be found on eBay, or for allmost the full price. But obviously their quality has gone way down. Fabrics often flimsy. Let's make our own kind of happy
I agree with you on the floor lamps (Holmo Floor lamps), especially if you have a cat. My cat was chasing bugs, and everytime she would try to catch one on the lampshade, she would tear a hole in them (I have two). I am replacing them as I type this. Worst item I bought from Ikea.
When I was looking at your photo of the Listerby lamp, it seemed that while the shade is very long, there's only one bulb in there--so the shade is only illuminated in the center. It's weird, right? I have a very similar lamp that I bought at Target for 40 bucks. The shade is at least 3 feet off the floor and there are two light bulbs inside. It's almost too big, but I'm satisfied with it. Target has good quality affordable lamps.
You are right. Ikea had that lamp under another name I don't remember in the early 2000s and me and my rommates back then bought it. It had two or three light bulbs in different hights in it and lit our hallway properly.
I wasted money on ikeas outdoor wood furniture. Even in summer weather they peal and flake. Some of the light fixtures are cool, I bought very large light bulbs that hang from a hook.
Your living room looks cozy and what kind of plants at your back? I also a big fans of IKEA products but i think IKEA items are different in each country?
I've never had any luck with any of the IKEA lighting products I've bought, regardless of the price. My other complaint with them is a lot of times they take specialty bulbs and then when IKEA discontinues the product, you can't replace them! I just avoid the lighting department completely at IKEA.
We also made the mistake of buying the Runnen deck tiles. they are not properly sanded so they're full of splinters, if your balcony has "the wrong size" it will look ridiculous because you won't be able to cover it entirely and it was very expensive for the overall quality.
I love my Klippan loveseat! But…the covers…ikea keeps decreasing the colors of the covers and the new patterns are awful. Very difficult to find pleasing colors.
Generally the quality of Ikea furniture decreased the last two decades. Everything has become flimsier, the material has become thinner, metal parts were replaced by plastic parts and so on.
The IKEA decorative throw blankets are not meant to be washed or used like a blanket, they fall apart so easily. Avoid IKEA that is solar with built in LEDs, the lights are so weak. Also Avoid IKEA clocks. IKEA Taggen tall uplight, looked beautiful, but the base was made of a plastic weight filled with sand. The plastic slowly disintegrated and cracked after a few years and the lamp could no longer stand upright. Never saw plastic cracked and break apart like that before. It was never in sunlight and the lamp was never moved around after it was set up.
We are in the process of upgrading from all of our lack furniture lol We are in this awkward in between stage where we have a few nice pieces but still need some of the lack stuff till we get more money saved to replace everything
Haha I commented before on what I think of the scandinavian all gray and white interior style.. 😬😬 lol now I need a video where you guys discuss and rate Swedish and Scandinavian decor! Plz 🤩People around the world seem to love it, but I like British or American style more! I’m Swedish myself ☺️
I feel like IKEA is having top time in america, but in europe it has pretty bad name with 70% products we would never touch because its cheap in quality but with high prices to make it look luxury.
I had the video on speed x2 for the roller moment I laughed so hard! Also for chairs and couches it really depends on the person, it's the 2 things I invest the most in because I can't sit long and my arthrodesis + double scoliosis don't fit 90% of chairs (even gaming chairs) 😔 very interesting video and very cool channel!
Teak in general is not a great outdoor wood if you don't want to maintain it, especially cheap teak with cheap plastic. Teak needs to be refinished almost every year if it's outdoors. Buyer beware!
I'm glad I wasn't on the list. 🙃

I am not surprised the listed items are not liked by this person. All of them are literally the cheapest you can buy at Ikea. If you buy a $10 plastic chair it is ridiculous to expect it to look and behave as $300 wood chair.

Looks like you are an IKEA agent.
The Langfjall (or whatever it's called) office chair is over $200...
Very informative. I like your comment about shopping at a thrift store instead. Certainly beats disposable "new" items.
Hey! I work at a shop that sells outdoor wooden floors and you need to treat all the wood against water usually, if not, it combs/ brakes easily
well, I love the floating Lack shelves from Ikea... these shelves are way more expensive in other stores with exactly same design.
Agreed! We have the Lack floating shelf above the TV and I think it looks very high quality (for super cheap)
it's true, the lack shelves are great!!
Mine came off the wall in the middle of the night 😂
mine were terrible we took them down

You definitely make me feel better about my own tendency to: just buy something to solve the problem, (and then learn to regret it later.)

Same. We get winter but have ours on a covered balcony and they look amazing even 2 years later. One of my favourite Ikea purchases.

so interesting!
Good to know! Thanks for saving me the money
I have to disagree with some of these, I love lack, as long as you don’t have more than one or two lack items in each room. I have the console table and love it, and so many of my friends have the coffee table and it looks great! And I’ve never seen anyone having the klippan couch at home, but I feel like it’s a stable at waiting rooms, schools and places like that, and they work great there☺️
so you could say that the lack furniture is lacking... 🤣
It’s a bit.. lackluster 😂
O
Yes, totally right about IKEA’s lighting selection. They could very easily improve that.
I looove Ikea sticky rollers (they look a bit different than on your photo though)!!
Can you return stuff that is damaged with wear and tear still?
One thing I like about ikea is that if a piece breaks you can call them, give them the number of the exact piece and they will mail it to you for free
@@HAIRHOLIC_1 yes we have in the past. With the receipt you can return basically anything! They have never not accepted a return from us.
@@emiliana1767 ok that’s good to know
Not sure about the point made about the tiles (I have those as well on my balcony). I live in a similar climate and after the first 12 months I covered those with special oil, and now the color is simply rich and fantastic (probably even better than when I bought it). I am prepared to do this each season, so I think it should be fine, but we shall see of course.
Good idea wood needs treatment now and again to stop it rotting
I’m about to get an IKEA klippan bc that’s what I can afford and it was comfier than any other couch in that price range when I tried 😅
Klippan and Lack tables are absolutely amazing (for the price).
That little square Lack table will hold a huge amount of weight though, they're remarkably tough!
Nice list :-)
Lack
I actually have to work in crisis countries for my research and there is no better piece of super light furniture that you can put in a suitcase and make the most horrible space somewhere in the middle of nowhere look really cozy.
😂
:) XO
Love both of mine - one black, one dark grey, with comfortable throw pillows. I too lounge on them with my legs elevated.
Two videos in 2 weeks? You are spoiling us 😍 Another great video! Loved it 💕
As a swede, kudos to your pronounciation. I always go to ikea videos to laugh at peoples struggles but you did okay ^^
Didn't she say she has a Swedish husband?
I use my IKEA lint roller every day…I have a cat and I always roller my clothing on my way out of the house. I find them excellent value and they work very well.
Good point on the tiles. Ridiculous that it cannot sustain your winters - should not be sold in your market. Very cheeky disclaimer by ikea.
Those Lack side table are all the rage right now for 3D printing people. Great way to make an enclosure for your printer.
The plastic floor tiles (gray and beige ones) are actually weatherproof. Had them for a couple years in an uncovered patio, good as new still.
I have those as well...3 years now, and they still look new, and I live in Canada where we have real winters
I love the listerby console in my entrance, we had it for a while and no issue.
I agree about the lighting. It is all novelty and no functionality. Also, I can't picture them fitting in with any type of decor.
U can glue veneer back on. If u don't have wood glue super glue would work
I love my Lack coffee table. I bought it 10 years ago. It's never let me down.
So true. The wooden coffee table that I bought from Ikea 15 years ago, one of the best purchases. They dont make such any more.
I love the solarlights, they work perfect and last for hours!
Illiterate * 😆 oh the irony.
@@lorimiller4301 Hi. I laughed at the same thing when I saw it after thinking " I'm sure it's summer, not sommer". 😅
I totally agree about the items. Some of them are not worth buying.. Great advice!!
Plus they are used in my favorite TV Show (Supergirl) so that's a plus 😅🤷🏻♂
And I am very grateful that you mentioned the Deck Tiles.
The intro with pre-assembled Swedish hubby is cute :D
Deck tiles are great. When we accidentally burned some during an after work barbecue, we just swapped them with another unit from a less visible area
"I can't return things to ikea where I live"... that's a mystery worth its own video perhaps...
The lint roller is for clothes not furniture. Like cat hair. Works great then.
Otherwise a good list. I started out with lack furniture in my student apartment but now in my ”regular” apartment real Wood ones def looks and feels better and more longlasting.
I thought i was crazy fot the chair from ikea..sitting for longer than hurt was really hurting my back. Your clip helped a lot 😉
The Listerby console looks like Eisenhower era office furniture. A Mad Men knock off with less style
Love your Honesty
Their coffee tables look very cheap when you're there in person. Hpwever, I love the Klippan; it's very comfortable.
Well as someone who lives in los angeles where it barely ever rains the floor deck tiles would be perfect.
We agree on the IKEA lighting selection 😅
If you have bad weather you need to stain those tiles to protect them 🤣 Just like a wood deck.. Common sense you would think 🤔 Great video though thanks for the tips 😊
… ain‘t so common. Lack of experience is. But it can be remedied 😉
Purchasing an item in a colour that you don't like only because the colour you want is not temporarily available and then blaming it on Ikea is DUMM.
Or go vintage in yardsales, (vintage can be finding the latest furniture on craig s list or at the neighboor who are moving out.
)
What is fascinating is that some of their best most wanted items will never be found on eBay, or for allmost the full price.
Ikea has always had cheap furniture and some of higher quality. It is nothing new.
We are in the process of upgrading from all of our lack furniture lol
We are in this awkward in between stage where we have a few nice pieces but still need some of the lack stuff till we get more money saved to replace everything
Funny, I love the lint rollers.
I can’t stand any paper lamp. The paper gets old in a bad way so fast. The base of the floor lamp is great for upscaling though.
I don’t trust ikea couches to be comfortable after awhile or ever really. I’d rather save for better quality or do fb marketplace
Whoa, I'm so surprised to see those solar lights. I've had them since 2015 or so and they still work great, never got dim or anything.
Teak in general is not a great outdoor wood if you don't want to maintain it, especially cheap teak with cheap plastic. Teak needs to be refinished almost every year if it's outdoors. Buyer beware!
