    This is singularly the best kayak angler show on RUclips ever.
    And by far, anywhere in any kind of media I've ever seen.
    I've been watching fishing shows all my life as an avid angler.
    Thanks!!

    7 Minutes and 44 Seconds worth of fishing...& NO STINKIN' COMMERCIALS! I love it!!!!! Great fishing, and haulin' in the Smallies, when other so-called "Fishermen" would rather be home, where it's nice and warm. You definitely have my respect, Sir!!!!!

    Best Smallie fisherman on RUclips, hands down! Keep on treating the fish as well as you do; it is fantastic to see someone not tire the fish out , use a net, release the hook quickly using tools (if necessary) that are near by, and soon after return the fish to the habitat! And, you have consistently caught nice northern fish!

    A pleasant surprise to see a new video from you this time of year, I figured everything up your way would be froze solid. I hate to rub it in but we went walleye fishing here in east Tennessee last Friday and it was 82 degrees, even on the warm side for us this time of year. Watching your video make me feel like a wimp for only taking the bass boat out this time of year, need to break the kayak out. The wife bought a new Vibe Sea Ghost and she's wanting to try it out so maybe this coming weekend. Thanks for another great video!

    Heck of a way to send off the season, man! One of my main goals with getting a kayak is to be able to find fish in cold water. The main river I fish has a LOT of fast water and inaccessible shorelines. It makes it hard to find wintering holes from the bank and the current makes it sketchy to take my Old Town canoe out alone. I've never been able to find fish before the spring.

      Get a kayak, you'll have a blast! Even on lakes with bass boats around me there's a lot of spots they can't get to and I can. Plus you can get a lot closer to the fish without spooking them in a kayak. I've caught so many bass just having a lure dangling or floating a couple feet from me, I've almost lost rods a couple times because of it!

    • @ndyakangler
      @ndyakangler  6 лет назад +1

      It was about 40 degrees out but it didn’t feel too cold after the past couple months of winter. I wear the same light nylon/ polyester water resistant pants I use all summer but I’ll wear some thick polyester fleece long johns under them with some wool socks and warm waterproof winter boots. I mostly avoid anything cotton since it absorbs water so I’ll have a synthetic material base layer up top with a warm polyester fleece mid layer and a North Face thermoball jacket.

    Nice video man! Now I just recently purchased a fishing kayak this Christmas and I can’t wait to get it out on the water this spring. Now as a kayak angler, do you feel that while I’m going to be on a river that having an anchor is necessary? Thanks!

    • @ndyakangler
      @ndyakangler  6 лет назад

      I almost never bring an anchor on the river but it all depends on the kind of fishing you do. I generally like to cover as much area as I can when the water is warmer. Even on this trip I sat and fished this spot for a couple hours but there wasn’t much current where I was sitting so it took very little effort to stay in one spot.

    Just curious, what is your PB smallmouth? Also PB fish overall? Thanks.

      My biggest weighed smallmouth was 6-2 at 22.25” although one I caught this spring just shy of 22” might have been heavier. She was 5-13 a couple days later spawned out. Not sure about my overall biggest. I’ve caught catfish, pike, and musky all in the 15-20lb range and a walleye just over 10lb.

    What was the water temp. at? I'm up in Qc and wondering if I should take my Yak out too...

    Do you ever stand and fish in the Tarpon 120?

      Not when the water is that cold lol. I stand and fish in the Tarpon quite a bit during summer though. It’s tough because there’s not much of a spot to put your feet without shifting forward a bit and doing that makes keeping the kayak moving in a straight line difficult.
