as a 2000's finnish kid and teenager, HIM was a staple sound of that decade. holy shit, i miss those days...
Yeah I think it was the era when finnish metal and other music was going big in europe and world. HIM/Nightwish/Rasmus at least were pretty hyped back then.

In the European cut of the 1999 science fiction movie "The Thirteenth Floor" this was the end credits song (US version has something from The Cardigans). I never saw this video before, only the one with scenes from the movie and the band performing within a green and red light show.

I remember thinking that this is something different when their version of Wicked Game was playing on the radio. I felt the same with Valo's Finnish version of Annie's Song (Olet Mun Kaikuluotain). An artist who wrote lyrics for the Finnish version in 1976 made also this song. A bit similar band as HIM. The song was on a soundtrack: "Sara - Yhtenä iltana".
I would recommend live versions from rock am ring 2001, rockpalast and new pop festival!

My first concert was HIM in Eupen (Belgium) around 2000/2001... not sure which year anymore 🙈
HIM has always been one of my all-time favorite bands, I remember when they had people submit their heartagram tattoos for their dark light album. My tattoo got into the booklet, along with ton of others, which I thought was really awesome on their part! I saw them so long ago I can’t honestly remember if I’ve seen them only once or twice but I know when I saw them in Lauderdale my boyfriend at the time and I were there with his brothers, and after the show Ville was being escorted into a building by security, and my boyfriend yelled his name out, and he stopped and turned around just to come sign all of our CD booklets, but no one else’s! It was the coolest thing ever! I would say show Chels a a couple more from RR and then just go in order! Poison Girl or Resurrection maybe?

Go back to the very beginning. Borellus, one of the first songs from the demos. It was Linde's favourite but they never made a real version of it. Great song though, quite doomy.

@@MatandChelsReact If you dig some there's a few rare HIM demo gems to be found on RUclips. Early demos, and also a Razorblade Romance demo album called Slippery When Dead is pretty cool too with more raw sound.

You 2 should try out Apocalyptica - 'Bittersweet' feat. Lauri Ylönen & Ville Valo both Ville and Lauri sings so awesome together and its hauntenly beautiful

As a 91 kid, im grown up on HIM, and still listening to HIM daily. There is nothing quite like it!
First CD I bought for my own money was Razorblade Romance
This brings back memories. My little brother showed me HIM and this song was really big in Germany and certainly elsewhere too. That was the only time I remember him putting his money into music and not PC games. I didn't like it and still can't do anything with it today but hey... my brother and many others had a good time with it and that's how it should be.
Great memories. Always thought at first this was gonna be some black/death metal band when I found out the name stood for His Infernal Majesty, surprise!!! Always a pleasure.
