I like how you prepare the oregano. Especially that you clean it. Only if you just crush with your hands and store, it smells so nice! I love lemon oregano. Its the best!
it's taken me years and years to finally be able to germinate enough oregano and keep them alive long enough to have oregano around. i know it's easy to grow when they're established. but i grew them from seeds and the seedlings are ridiculously tiny and hard to keep alive in the heat of the philippnes. the easier cuban oregano is stupid easy but that stuff is too strong. i wanted greek oregano and have probably wasted 10 seed packets over the years trying to get plants established. marjoram was the same for me. but finally i found a place that sold live plants. so i'm good with them. for the marjoam i have a whole planter box 10 feet long that i'm trying to keep alive. i just hope they don't drown in the rainy season that's coming real soon.
Seeds do germinate, but hard to keep them alive and grw into plants. ANd heat or warm climate is actually best, but maybe you should just propagate once you are successful growing some seeds. Just don't over water, or the seeds will rot.
Great Video... I have a large Greek Oregano plant, and can't use the fresh stems fast enough.. I also didn't know I could take cuttings and propagate them.. I will use the same method as your video on propagating Rosemary cuttings, which worked successfully for me.. Thanks for posting..

Last season my raised bed froze over, covered with snow for a few days. Everything died, but the Oregano came back. They grew so much that I almost forgot they were almost killed by the snow.
This is great as I'm starting to grow mine and was told you need to tie the herbs up, place them upside down in a paper bag. This seems much easier. Thanks!

Thanks, I will try to do this with my oregano. Have you tried making oregano oil? I made coconut oil by putting dehydrated coconut in my juicer, so I think if you put the dried oregano leaves in a juicer that you might get some oregano oil.
You were using the wrong blade for grinding. You should have another blade a shorter flat blade which is for grinding spices and whatever. The long raised blade is for smoothie.

No need to dry in the sun. I recommend never drying anything in direct sunlight. I have a room with darkening blinds and a ceiling fan for herbs and curing peanuts and potatoes. Other things may require a different approach like using a dehumidifier but nothing should be dried in direct sunlight as it can deplete it of vitamins especially vitamin A.
What type oregano is that? I have some vulgare growing from seed I got from Baker Creek Seed but it is not growing up like yours is, it wants to run low to the ground. thanks Khang.

Basil is very easy to grw from seeds.. I kept one plant for 5 years, INDOORS. However, Basil is not good when it comes to drying, loses its aroma, but maybe still maintains the benefits. I rather use fresh Basil.
I like the water method because it's less work. If you choose to put them directly in soil, you must monitor the soil to prevent drying out. This could be some work if you're not around to check on it.

Yes, it will work for Sage as well. I have a bunch of Sage that I may do a video on soon.
