    The best part is how u make sure u don't hurt or kill any bugs on ur plants.. Small thing... Big meaning...

      Ankit Mehta Its very important for the plants, there are just as many bugs any gardener would squish on sight.

    Nice bushes. Never seen basil grow that big before. I realize how it got that big. We used to just grow it in outside garden but died off in winter.

    Really nice looking Thai basil plant! I never thought about drying this herb, but will definitely try this year (if it's not too late in the season to put my propagated Thai basil in the ground). I like to cook a lot of Thai and Vietnamese food, but live far from the Asian market. So this is a perfect resolution for me. Thanks for all the time you put into making your videos so informative. I'm a new gardener and I'm learning a lot from you.

    You can also put fresh leaves in the blender and then freeze them. It's much more like fresh retaining all its flavor and lasts a whole year! I have a container I use to store it in the freezer and I just dig out what I need whenever I cook or want to put some in salad.

    I'm just starting to root my leftover Thai Basil stems, and really inspired by your videos. Hope mine will grow large and healthy like yours!

    In my day, we used a microwave to dry our, uh, herbs. It works for basil, too. Only need to zap for about 30 seconds. Doesn't seem to harm anything and the room smells amazing!

    Basil is really the best beginner herb. Even store-bought Basil that was in the fridge can be propagated easily.

    Very nice video - can you save the rooted basil to grow indoors in winter as I find the basil plant does not do very well indoors in winter. Pls advise thanks

    Only issue is, that dried Basil does not taste the same as fresh.

      I agree. In fact, I can't even taste dried basil. I never use dried basil anymore.

    Hi Khang. Do you ever save seed from the Thai basil. I have been wanting to grow some but want good quality seed.

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 лет назад +7

      I don't save seeds for them because I just propagate and they grow like crazy. I pinch off all the buds each time they put out some. If you have a Pho restaurant near by, stop by there and order some Pho. They will give you some basil, just save a branch and grow them. That's how I got these in the beginning.

    What is the use of basil. Pl. Tell me for which dish can use this.

      Smell it then try to figure out what you think it would taste good with. Tomato sauce is a very popular food to use basil in.
