Really nice looking Thai basil plant! I never thought about drying this herb, but will definitely try this year (if it's not too late in the season to put my propagated Thai basil in the ground). I like to cook a lot of Thai and Vietnamese food, but live far from the Asian market. So this is a perfect resolution for me. Thanks for all the time you put into making your videos so informative. I'm a new gardener and I'm learning a lot from you.
You can also put fresh leaves in the blender and then freeze them. It's much more like fresh retaining all its flavor and lasts a whole year! I have a container I use to store it in the freezer and I just dig out what I need whenever I cook or want to put some in salad.
In my day, we used a microwave to dry our, uh, herbs. It works for basil, too. Only need to zap for about 30 seconds. Doesn't seem to harm anything and the room smells amazing!
Very nice video - can you save the rooted basil to grow indoors in winter as I find the basil plant does not do very well indoors in winter. Pls advise thanks
That's a nice basil /tree/ haha. Would you ever do a recipe/cooking video? Anyway, thanks for another nice video! Very informative and a pleasure to listen to you speak, as always.
I don't save seeds for them because I just propagate and they grow like crazy. I pinch off all the buds each time they put out some. If you have a Pho restaurant near by, stop by there and order some Pho. They will give you some basil, just save a branch and grow them. That's how I got these in the beginning.
I like it!
The best part is how u make sure u don't hurt or kill any bugs on ur plants.. Small thing... Big meaning...
Ankit Mehta Its very important for the plants, there are just as many bugs any gardener would squish on sight.
Thank you . You made it easy and straightforward.
Nice bushes. Never seen basil grow that big before. I realize how it got that big. We used to just grow it in outside garden but died off in winter.

Very informative! I really like your style. Thank You.
I'm just starting to root my leftover Thai Basil stems, and really inspired by your videos. Hope mine will grow large and healthy like yours!

Basil is really the best beginner herb. Even store-bought Basil that was in the fridge can be propagated easily.

Great video!
Great, thank you for sharing.

Could you make a video on just which herbs you can propagate?
Amazing! Thanku
Only issue is, that dried Basil does not taste the same as fresh.
You're right, nothing taste as good as the fresh stuff.
I agree. In fact, I can't even taste dried basil. I never use dried basil anymore.
Good idea about reproppagating ..... doing this tomorrow!!!!
How do you get your basil so big, my sweet basil wants to flower constantly, I pinch off the flowers every week
What type of basil did you say that was...really nice plant 😀
Looks like Thai Basil.
Did you leave the bag in the sun to dry ?
About how long does the dry basil last?
Hi Khang. Do you ever save seed from the Thai basil. I have been wanting to grow some but want good quality seed.

한국 분이세요? 저는 일리노이 소도시에 사는데 고추 🌶 심어 보고 싶은데 한번도 해본 적이 없어서 어디서 부터 시작 해야 할지 알려 주실 수 있으세요?
What is the use of basil. Pl. Tell me for which dish can use this.
Smell it then try to figure out what you think it would taste good with. Tomato sauce is a very popular food to use basil in.
Great video as always Khang! But gor those who never dry basil, how did you dry yours?
Basil doest give out scent/flavor once dried
Jimmy misle: it does, just not as strong.
This Mystic i have tried it, nothing really.. however, the benefits of this herb will be there as long as kept in cool dry place
