Season 2 should be 12 episodes. I want to see more episodes of Live Action. After watching and reading One Piece for over 1000 chapters and 1000 episodes, watching just 8 episodes of OP Live Action feels so unsatisfying. I want more.
We all want more episodes. But each episode in season 1 had a budget of 17+ million. 4 more episodes will mean an increase of 68 million in budget. It's highly unlikely, and even if they get a higher budget for season 2, they will need to use that money for the extra necessary cgi like chopper, laboon, giants, dinosaurs, and the multiple devil fruit powers. I'm still hoping for the best, for at least 9 episodes without compromising quality, which will round up alabasta arc nicely, but I'm keeping my expectations low for now.
More episodes means more shooting time, so longer to wait between seasons. 10 episodes as it was originally planned for Season 1 would be perfect.

This is great! Im impressed that we are getting so many character confirmations. It would nice if we could find out how the character Chopper will be handled. Im hoping that some of the more campy aspects of certain characters such as Mr 3 and Wapol will be toned down a bit.. especially for people who aren't familiar with the source material. Im super excited to see Smoker and Tashigi in the live action and I hope they get to be one of the Straw Hats primary Navy antagonists moving forward. Thanks for providing such a detailed breakdown of each new casting.
It might keep it live action like to help the new viewers. It might be a balance/ compromise between the two media.
They can take notes from the team behind the cg on Hobbits in the Middle Earth saga films and do the reverse of it.
I'm actually reminded of a line from a Fallout fanfic, said by Joshua Graham. "There are many ways to be unlike something, Courier. Dichotomies are a rare thing."
That and the effects for "where the wild things are" film. Using a person in a fur suit, chane perspective and cgi only the face.
That's my idea of how they could go about it. I refuse to think they're just gonna put a kid in make up, I'd hate it so much. Chopper is charming because he's far from human looking and is more cute animal.
A human child would suck so much, like what is this, lion king musical, just people on stage and I gotta pretend in my head it's real lol
TV series shouldn't take notes from films; films have completely different budget and resources.
@@IamGrimalkin Yes but this is a streaming series not a tv series and streaming series tends to have a similar budget as the films.
i can see them cutting a lot of the parts in alabasta where they're walking back and forth through the dessert, i could see them cutting luffys fake out death with the dessert toilet too
I can also see them cutting out the Luffy vs. Zoro fight from Whiskey Peak.
Not even Oda liked that fight.
@@Phanthief95Totally fine with that too! As long as they keep in Zoro taking out 100 agents. That was awesome along with Igaram’s “death” scene which is an awesome way to introduce Robin.
There are definitely a lot of moments that they can possibly cut out in this season for the better. But on the other hand, there are also some things that I would like this season to add. I would like them to add a Garp-Koby storyline where they go to the Grand Line through the Calm Belts, and while traveling, they explains the concept of the Calm Belts and how can the Marines cross it. Another thing I would like them to add is like put an Easter egg in Loguetown where they show some random green-haired character in the background when Luffy is about to get executed by Buggy
@@second1387 For me, I also hope when Luffy reunites with Ace that they bring up Sabo. Sabo’s introduction in the manga & anime always felt like it came out of nowhere so it’d be good to establish that Luffy has 2 brothers early on but one of them “died” when he was a kid.

I really hope they don’t split up the Alabasta arc. I think ending the season with the X-mark Vivi scene is SO POWERFUL and would mirror the barrel scene that they made the end of season 1.
…then the after credit scene could show Robin hiding as a stow away as a zinger for season 3.

I’m really hoping we get Igaram and Miss Monday and they do whiskey peak. I’m worried they are gonna try and tie everything from whiskey peak into Laboon. Just cause I want the badass scene of Zoro fighting the 100 agents as well as the bomb scene where Igaram “dies.” They’re epic and hope they don’t cut it. They’re doing Mr. 9, so that gives me hope we will get the other two.
I know we are getting Ms. Goldenweek. That leaves Dr. Hiruluk, Dr. Kureha (please Jamie Lee Curtis), Chopper’s voice actor, as well as Chess and Kurimarimo. And also Vivi and Robin. We also might get Crocodile since we first hear his voice when Sanji is on Little Garden. And: possibly casting for Mr. 2 and Ace since they appear right at the end of Drum Island leading into Alabasta. Almost forgot! Dragon casting too! But that might be a surprise till it airs.
Looking at all they are doing, there is no way the entire Alabasta Saga is adapted in only 8 episodes. I’m thinking with that rumor that they were filming season 3 with 2 means that this season will be split into two halves with the latter focusing solely on Alabasta.
Jamie lee is definetly not Dr Kureha because 1. She is currently filming another project instead of OP 2. She is a zionist, Netflix wont take any risks with that to avoid backlash

Awesome video bro! I’ve been getting hyped over the castings for the whole week and your breakdowns are so enjoyable to watch! And yeah, I can definitely see them keeping all of Alabasta in S2 and just cutting out some unnecessary scenes. 3 episodes that are a little over an hour each could honestly be enough to tell that arc, especially since they might incorporate other elements into earlier episodes of the season.
You know a kind of want alabasta to be season 3 so they can take their time with it. Then they have more time for everything prior to it and dont have to condense as much.
I believe the OPLA will not skip any canon arcs bcz they don't wanna create loop holes for the future since they probably know Oda always finds a way to reuse the old arcs to enhence the future plot by connecting their importance in some way.
they most likely just don't want to take the risk of ruining Oda's work as they are also fans of his work.

These were some great casting which as for the agents I agree that I would like to see maybe them implying that Mr.9 & Miss Monday like each other, but what would be really cool is like how they did with Mr.7 in the 1st season they can do the other members that are minor like Miss Catherina or Mr. Beans along with adding the Frontier Agents we never seen like Mr. 6, Miss Mother’s Day, Mr.10, Miss Tuesday, Miss Thursday (Mr.11’s partner), Mr. 12, & Miss Saturday
I originally had dave dastmalchian fan casted as Bon Kurei but sure Galdino's great too!
I hope they take there time with the Alabasta story.
What I want to see is how they do Chopper and his various transformations. I'm going to guess all CG, although little form would be great with physical animatronics.

I'm curious what they're gonna do with Mr. 3's hair, if they're gonna go for it and do the giant 3 hair or something different. I could see them doing something like giving him have a curly bang in the shape of a 3 that falls on his forehead instead.
I would love if the Live Action would do Oda’s original 250 issue idea. That way we could see LA go to its conclusion. And it would be fun.

The next season will be 12 episodes, so they will finish Alabasta! I got no call so I guess I'm not Chopper. Oh well. Maybe I can try again with Lola!
As for the giants, simple green screen effects can handle that pretty easily!
If you’re right, I hope it’s split 6 and 6 with Alabasta being the last 6 episodes. That would mean, the first six episodes: 1)Loguetown, 2)Reverse Mountain/WhiskeyPeak, 3)Whiskey Peak/Little Garden, 4) LittleGarden/ Drum and 5)/6) being the rest of Drum. It makes the most sense.

I still believe (and hope) Alabasta is not going to be done this season, it would be too rushed, but also Alabasta wouldn't be the entirety of the next season. It makes way more sense to split next season between Alabasta, Jaya, and Skypedea, which is more than enough for a full fleshed season.
The producer have said they want to do 6 seasons before the timeskip, so there seems to be enough room to adapt more elements of the story.
Season 3: Alabasta, Jaya, and Skypedea
Season 4: Foxy Pirates, Water Seven, and Enis Lobby
Season 5: Thriller Bark, Sabadody, and maybe Amazon Lilly
Season 6: maybe Amazon Lilly, Impel Down and Marine Fort
I definitely feel there's more than enough material to split the seasons like this.

I think they should do 12 episodes ...8 up to end of drum island and do a 4 episodes as alabasta and have it come out 6months to a yr after so we can get a season a year ....you have a build up with the 8 episodes and then a 4 episode conclusion I think it would be a great way to do it as to not leave out important characters and story line
I think that they are going to scale down the giants a little. Just look at what they did to the fishmen. I just hope that they don't make the giants the same size as the rest of the cast.
I can understand, from a live-action production standpoint, why they would scale back some of the character sizes.
As for the number of episodes, I can see them reducing reverse mountain and whiskey peaks to (at most) one episode each.

If they don't cut a ton of stuff and merge arcs the actors will age out before we get to Wano arc let alone to end. I mean 1 season a year+ and we need like 15yrs lol.
Alabasta and skypiea could fit in 8 episodes as skypiea doesn’t really have much to fill up episodes as water 7 and robin rescue would work out for season 4
But Skypeia had Jaya preceeding it

Does anybody else think that it would be cool if they got a Russian or Ukraine somewhere in there actress to play Nico robin? Because a little while back, Oda(wow, my microphone actually spelled that, right) gave all of the straw hats, real-world nationalities, and hers was Russian. I think it might make things interesting and different in a good way

Okay luffys fruit wasnt revealed as a zoan officially until wano i think, but theres been hints ever since enies lobby or cp9 with gear 2 and 3. So luffys fruit is the first zoan, but it was called a paramecia until wano, and both hito hito no mis on the strawhat crew sort of appeared before daltons fruit. I dont think chopper used his fruit until then, and luffys fruit was thought to be the gomu gomu no mi, but it is the hito hito no mi: model nika, and im pretty sure chopper appeared before dalton, i think, i dunno its been a while since i watched drum island.
So maybe daltons fruit is the first zoan to be revealed, but not the first one to be seen.
I don't understand why so many people are on the fence with the Giants on Little Garden. Have you never seen an Alice in Wonderland Life Action Movie? And here they can even skip the Growth Scene entirely.
About Dalton's existence as a Zoan Fruit User being preserved: That wasn't at all a given. The Drum Recap Movie completely omits that.
Lastly, I know that's unlikely at best but: Can Mr 6 and Miss Mother's Day at least show up somewhere? It still is so weird that these two, Top Ten Ranking Agents, didn't do anything during Operation Utopia...
Now if we could get Jamie Lee Curtis to play as Doctor Kureha would be be great but that's very unlikely.
12 episodes is enough Episodes to fit in everything there should be no reason why it shouldn’t fit as they can strip stuff away that isn’t important in Alabasta
