- Negative Slope No Problem: French Drain Discharged to Downspout Line
What do you do when you have negative slope and you have water laying up against the foundation of your house? What is silent. You don't know it's doing damage until the damage is already done. It will do $10,000 of thousands of dollars worth of damage to the foundation of your home. You have to get this water away from the structure. You have to get it out and around the building if there is negative slope.

Love to see how you tie the dual pipe french drain into yhe downspout/solid pipe. My question is when you do a quad stack french drain system with your high octane what does the end of the line look like if you daylight it into a ditch?

Great info! Why do you have two cleanout catch basins so close to each other? Wouldn't the one tied into the downspout pipe take care of the shingle gravel?
The way you see it in this video is how we recommend installing roof runoff systems in French drains. Each one will hold 1 gallon of sediment. The two of them hold 2 gallons of sediment. I like to have the catch basin 3 feet from the leaf filter so you catch the shingle gravel immediately.
I really wish you were in the Butler, Pennsylvania area!

If you can't drain it gravity, just put a pump in the system like we did here.
Have you guys done any videos where you run the French drain under a decorative dry river bed?

Thank you for making these amazing videos! How do you decide between putting the french drain a couple feet from the house vs right up against the house and adding the waterproofing membrane to the foundation?
It should always be away from the foundation.
@@johnnytocino9313 But in his video "How to Waterproof a Foundation" he puts it right up against the foundation.
This house already has a foundation. Drain 9 feet deep at the bottom of the basement wall.
Hey man love the videos! How deep do you typically start the French drains? And do you tamp down the trench before putting in the fabric? I’m about to buy one of your kits! Thanks!
We do not have to tamp the soil at the bottom of the trench. When we dig with our excavator, it has a flat nose. It scrapes the soil perfectly flat. The clay is always compact.
Hello. Can you please detail what brand and type of tile tape French Drain Man uses? Thank you.

Seems like you are using smaller gravel in your newer videos. Is that a cost / supply issue or have you learned that the (I’m guessing) 3/4 inch is better than 1 1/2 round? Thanks for the amazing products.
I don't like to use large stones near the foundation of any cement work or structure. The smaller stone is dense and more compact.
How many down spouts can you tie into a 4” discharge pipe? I’m considering a big system that will need to deal with high water table (French drain around perimeter of house) plus down spouts. Wondering if I need to go to 6” and / or double wall for the final run.
I already did

What do you do when your discharge drain has to go across a flat grade to street? No grade to speak of from front of house down spout to street. Sidewalk is between end of discard drain and street.
A slope is created in the trench for water to travel through the drain pipe and exit through a pop-up emitter.

What type of tape are you using to seal off your joints? It doesn’t look like duct tape?

What is the purpose of the capped off pipe?

I have a similar situation with negative slope all around the new garage at a customers house snd emailed your company about it and after spending almost $5000 and then adding another $17000 on one order and another 7k to spend with you on an up coming order they tell me to buy a consolation with your design guy. WHAT! I think I have already pre paid. Not impressed ha
Brother, you have my full attention. We do have a new girl in the office, and I apologize. Ask for Nicole. She's my assistant, and we will get this taken care of.
What’s the black wide tape
I think it's called "tile tape". It's very sticky and stretchy. Works really well outdoors from my experience. I use similar tape to wrap pipes around my property. He has the product on his website and it is titled "FDM’s 200 Year Tape - Extra Sticky & Extra Stretchy".
