Folks, hearing explosions like little distant thumps as they are in this video means the battle is veeeeeeeery far away. You won’t hear individual rifles or even bolters firing, nor any war cries of xenos, heretics, or anyone at all. Just artillery - and maybe the horns/distants steps of larger titans.
Did you consider the artillery can be in the distance but bolter shots in the vicinity. Sort of how you can hear fireworks from a few suburbs away but still talk to your wife normally...

This is pretty awesome! I could use this for some of the RTS’s when it’s to quiet during a Battle lol it makes want to find some of my old footage of doing Range days when I was in, we shot everything from 9’s and Shotguns to Mk-19’s AT-4’s and playing with stuff that goes boom. I can probably find some Howitzer sounds somewhere. I’m pretty sure I lost most of that though, when my old phone was destroyed.
Yeah this combined with the dow chant actually works... monastery under fire with the ecclesiarchy praying for deliverance... wonder what else would go well...

This audio can be pretty amazing when paired with other videos. Right now I have this one playing with another video titled: The Grave of the World (10+ Hours, Post-listenable and Withered). The two of these paired add a really nice atmosphere to the other. I also enjoy starwars space battles mixed with star wars music. There are some compilations who have caught on and did exactly that. But you can mix and match anything you want on desktop. Might even go crazy and try four open windows. Its the weekend. jk, but seriously, try pairing them up
I do this alot with ww1 ambience paired with ambience from battlefield 1 to get a really intense and brutal firefight feel going. There's so many different ones that i can always have a different combination each time

It is a time of legend. Mighty heroes battle for the right to rule the galaxy. The vast armies of the Emperor of Earth have conquered the galaxy in a Great Crusade - the myriad of alien races have been smashed aside by the Emperor's elite warriors and wiped from the face of history. The dawn of a new age of supremacy for humanity beckons. Gleaming citadels of marble and gold celebrate the many victories of the Emperor. Triumphs are raised on a million worlds to record the epic deeds of his most powerful and deadly warriors. First and foremost amongst these are the Primarchs, super-heroic beings who have led the Emperor's armies of Space Marines in victory after victory. They are magnificent, the pinnacle of the Emperor's genetic experimentation. The Space Marines are the mightiest human warriors the galaxy has ever known, each capable of besting a hundred normal men or more in combat. Organised into vast armies of tens of thousands called Legions, the Space Marines and their Primarch leaders conquer the galaxy in the name of the Emperor, the burgeoning Imperium, and humanity itself. Yet, two-hundred years into the Great Crusade, the galaxy is in flames. The Emperor's glorious vision for humanity is in ruins. His favoured son, Horus Lupercal, the Warmaster, has turned from his father's light and embraced Chaos, taking fully half of the Legiones with him. Thrust into battle against one another, victory is uncertain for either side. His armies, the mighty and redoubtable Space Marines, are locked in a brutal civil war. Once, these ultimate warriors fought side by side as brothers, protecting the galaxy and bringing mankind back into the Emperor's light. Now they are divided by blood. Some Legiones have remained loyal to the Emperor, whilst others have sided with the Warmaster. Worlds are burning. At Isstvan V, Horus dealt a vicious blow and three loyal Legions were all but destroyed. War has begun, a conflict that will engulf mankind in fire. Treachery and betrayal have usurped honour and nobility. Assassins lurk in every shadow. Armies are gathering. All must choose a side or die. Horus musters his armada, Terra itself the object of his wrath. Seated upon the Golden Throne, the Emperor waits for his wayward son to return. But the true enemy is Chaos, a primordial force that seeks to enslave mankind to its capricious whims. The screams of the innocent, the pleas of the righteous resound to the cruel laughter of Dark Gods. Suffering and damnation await should the Emperor fail and the war be lost. The age of knowledge and enlightenment has ended. The Age of Darkness has begun.
