It really does have that yucky cartoony art style of SC2 and contemporary MOBAs of 2010s (League season 5 and dota2 mostly) Even Halo Wars 2 suffered from over saturated cartoony art style

The titan is just too powerful. Normally in other rts it should be akin to artillery/siege unit which is powerful but has a lot of drawbacks like being very slow or bad at melee, yet that titan has no such drawbacks at all. It just casually bulldoze enemies
You switch between 3 races during the Campaign and all are amazing and fun to play. All factions in WH40k are amazing and have thier own followers, Orks are quite popular.

They could have done so much better... All I ever wanted was to have a DOW1 that played a bit more tactical like DOW2 and looks like DOW3. They could have had such an easy win. Instead they chased a trend and failed miserably.

@@strategygame40k179 DOW2 had it perfect during the campaign. The maps were huge, but very detailed and almost cramped, but kept pretty realistic. Having to take cover behind each and everything while being able to lose said cover by a grenade or simply because a carnifex walked right through it was great. On other things I wish the had gone with the slower pace and movement of the units. DOW3 units look like toys being flicked around. (Very SC2-style)In DOW2 the heavy units together with the impactful feel of weaponry it gave it a sense of heavyness while at the same time maintaining the time needed to make decisions. They could have blended that with the almost perfect scale and balancing of DOW1, where each and every battle could be turned around at even the last point. DOW1 was one hell of a slaughter waging back and forth for hours. I have memories of very intense battles in DOW1 while my memories of DOW2 are more on the immersive side.

That feature alone let you withdraw an almost dead squad from the frontline, rearm and replace lost units and then get them back into battle right away. This feature alone made up for a hell lot of surprises on the battlefield that turned the tides in an instant. You could hold the line for much longer and the battle. The retreat mechanic in DOW2 wasn't the most fun for me.

TBH I don't understand why community disliked it so much. I've played it and enjoy it as most RTS I've ever played. I think the game has shared the fate of Hawaiian pizza ^^
it's about missing all of the previous features they have implemented and now they're completely gone. like the cover system is coming to my head right now, im just driving by but there are plently of those things. they messed up,im happy space marine 2 was actually a great game now that's promising for the future. dow1 forever in our hearts
I wish they'd get the scale right in these computer games. With modern computing power, there's no reason why these games can't show a dreadnaught murdering 1,000+ enemies and space marines wrecking 50 orcs each.
DAW3 and C&C4 made the same mistake. Realizing games that removed 80% of the charm and then adding game mechanics that did not fit. All in an attempt to appeal to gamers from completely different franchises. But I'm happy if their are people that play and enjoy Dow3
I hope this gets a cult following. Bad release but earned the love of people as time goes on. It just needs a few mods to spice things up. Like cover mechanics and the doing away of heroes :v

Save your money, it sucks. The only thing it has in common is that it's 40k... not even worth playing.

I played when it came out and all the matches just ended up in artillery spam because it was just too OP. Not sure if that got fixed by now.
