Darkglass unveiled its first combo amps ever at NAMM 2024, and they come in two exciting options-analog or digital.
The analog M 500 series offers two speaker configurations-1x12 Eminence or 2x10 Eminence-as well as a 500-watt all-analog power power, 4-band EQ, two overdrives (Vintage Microtubes and Microtubes B3K), onboard compression (with automatic gain adjustment based on your playing), direct output with a pre/post EQ switch and an effects loop.
Digital disciples can get enhanced tonal options with the Infinity 500 combos. You still get 500 watts of power and a choice of Eminence speakers configurations (1x12 or 2x10), but the Infinity 500 adds up to five built-in presets (with up to128 presets total)-each one available with customized 5-band EQ, drive, compression, blend and cabinet IR settings. There’s also pre- and post-EQ direct outputs, an effects loop and USB and MIDI connectivity.

Just saw them online, bought a 2x12 immediately. This is the amp I’ve been waiting for for years.

I haven’t had the need to check prices of older equipment in years, but if there’s any chance that it hasn’t taken the same path as everything else, just buy used vintage equipment whenever possible!
Obviously it depends on what you get, but for the most part, things made today are purposely built to break, and either made with cheap parts, or you’ll pay absurd prices if it’s made of decent quality. Such a shame
