What a lovely train. The way you can see the houses reminds me of the Docklands Light Railway in London. Riding the DLR always makes me happy and I could imagine riding this monorail would make me happy too. Thank you for posting this video.
Such an awesome train! We can see the cityscape from above without restriction. The stations are small but very clean and nice and it seems a lot of people are using this train for commuting.
An amazing monorail, similar to the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn. Shows that this concept of public transport also works well in areas where you can‘t lay down tracks easily and the construction of tunnels would be too expensive. Well done, Japan!
These monorails are the perfect solution for uneven, hilly terrain wher esubways aren't practical and roads are too steep for train wheels. But they use over 100x the amount of steel than a regular surface rail system. They are very expensive to install due to the material costs alone.

I live in the USA and I have seen some videos of this. I bet riding in it is strange. I would love to travel this way. It helps with traffic and it's safer than taking a bus. I would love to drive it.
Seattle has a Monorail. It doesn't help with traffic at all. In fact driving down the road where the supports are (5th ave) causes traffic issues. Seattle tried to expand it in the 90's but it was a failure. It was filled with corruption and waste.

在上週 6月7日東京旅遊，安排了一趟鎌倉-江之島行程，我是搭JR到大船，然後跟影片一樣從大船乘坐湘南單軌電車到江之島。
在台灣沒有這種電車，去了日本好多次也沒機會去體驗唯一的懸吊式單軌電車，也在中途兩站下車從地面外部看看列車行走的過程，的確是個不錯的經驗。謝謝你的影片。

I rode this last month (April, 2023). A lot more interesting than riding a regular train or streetcar.

I actually ate at that ramen shop. It was a rough ride in comparison to a standard train, but it was pretty cool to ride it on my way to Enoshima.

My favorite way to Enoshima is JR to Ofuna then Shonan Monorail to Enoshima, then Enoden to Kamakura and JR back home. Must do the Eno-den next!
