  • The Cold War: When nuclear weapons kept the entire world on the edge of M.A.D. - Mutually Assured Destruction. As Russia, China and the USA flex their military muscles on the global stage today, ‘M.A.D. World’ takes a close look at the last time we were threatened by the might of world superpowers: The Cold War.
    In this episode:
    - Just as détente seems to be working and the Cold War is thawing, the West is outraged when Soviet troops move into Afghanistan. The USA immediately offers arms and support to the anti-government rebels, the Mujahideen.
    - World Champion boxer, Muhammed Ali is the face of the Olympic boycott as he leads a US team to persuade nations to stay at home rather than compete in the Moscow Olympics. The boycott is seen as an international protest against Soviet troops in Afghanistan.
    - Fear of global annihilation triggers mass demonstrations in cities across the globe and huge numbers of people join the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. Governments seek to alleviate fears by building nuclear shelters and broadcasting nuclear war survival strategies.
    - As Western money and weapons boost the rebels and hi-tech soviet weapons defend the government, the war in Afghanistan intensifies. An unusual group of Middle Eastern soldiers emerges - women. Allowed university education and employment under soviet rule they are prepared to fight to protect their new-found freedoms.
    - On a winter’s night over Kamchatka, a civilian jumbo jet travelling from New York to Seoul disappears off the radar. It has been shot down by soviet fighters after it strayed into Russian airspace. 269 people are killed.

Again the title of the video is extremely misleading it mentions the flight only really in the last 3 minutes of the video. They need to do better.

Explain the reasoning of it being misleading. If you're here to complain then make a video about your reasoning or give solutions. Stop adding to the problem. I don't see anything wrong here. I know a lot about history but I watch these videos often and do my own research. You don't have to watch these videos but if you criticize something you best come out with a reason as to why. Otherwise you're not going to be heard. You'll only be someone who just complains about something over Nothing. There's plenty of other videos to watch in the same manner. So feel free to complain some more or at the very least entertain us as to a solution and link to what the title should be.

It seems that activity and success are related. Successful individuals never give up. They make mistakes, but they keep trying. As the severity of the economic situation grows, we genuinely need a variety of revenue streams. There are many opportunities in the stock markets and the area of blockchain technology to make a good career with the right abilities and understanding of how the market works.

In every way, what you said is true. With the right information and expert instruction, anyone may become enormously wealthy through the stock and virtual currency markets. Investors shouldn't simply observe the markets decline during periods of extraordinarily high market volatility. Working with a knowledgeable instructor will greatly increase the size of your portfolio. My grandmother was supposed to be on that flight. My mom was the only one available to drive her to the airport, but she had a terrible feeling about it and refused. The whole family was angry. My grandfather and mother worked at the same company, and on that day all the TVs in the workplace were talking about this. My grandfather ran up to my mom and his hands were shaking uncontrollably. I don't believe in psychics or anything but I've never been able to explain that to myself.

Being born in 1959 I remember well the fear that we all lived with during the Cold War - even in Australia. It has made me a fatalist I'm afraid. If anything happens to annihilate the world, I do not want to survive it. Life would never be the same again, and I can't imagine living my life entirely underground in a shelter. No thanks. My only wish would be that the end would be quick.

The so called "West"? Why? It is not that West is better, with what they have been doing in Africa (even now with Blackwater mercenaries ir simply corporate interests), or South America - in the name of profit, money and the current/next year stock market prices. Long ago, aven Smedley Butler was vocal about it, in his speech in congress or his short "book". And not much has changed at the end.
China? Pretty much the same with their own geo-political approach.
And is not like West has a good history in any conflict, even US - and the list is long. At the end you can always start with Abeer Qassim Hamza al-Jana.

      @@marvelmthembuvee2593 - who?
Russia itself. Read something from "The Foundations of Geopolitics" or something written by Kissinger, or even Chomsky.
Note: Not that Kissinger was a good guy as such, far from it - but his politics, written material, books, and ideas - shaped opinions and ideas of other powerfull people too. So was the case with Aleksandr Dugin and his influence on Putin and others (hence, the approach and geo-politics of Russia itself).
