  • The method feeder is very much a self hooking method. But what about those days when the fish aren't having it due to hot weather and decide they just won't go down and feed. In this latest episode of Amer's Angle, I travel the very short journey to my local commercial fishery. I offer up a few tips which helped me catch some very nice double figure carp on what was a very hot tough session! You will see from this video that there is so much more to method feeder fishing than just moulding bait around it and casting it out.
    Enjoy the video.

I tried it for the first time today on a local fishery but just felt I was getting battered of slivers, didn’t land one fish on the feeder, swapped to a moving bomb rig and started catching straight away.

Really informative video. As an aside, which make of rods were you using, what length and why?

These are Rive rods but also use Daiwa Tournament rods. Length wise anything from 10ft for short casts and up to 13ft for very long casts.

Another good vid. What happened to the edge swim?

    • @AmerJawad-jj4ib

Thanks mate. The edge swim never went, lots of small tench there. Had I stayed later in the day then it would have gone no doubt. Most of the carp were cruising in the very still, hot conditions mate

Why don't you use elasticated in this situation? That was not clear to me..

I did mention the reason John. The swim I fished had a channel running through to another part of the lake. Those carp are notorious for pulling you through the channel which is full of snags. You can’t give them an space as I didn’t. I feel that fishing direct gives me more fish control in these situations. I hooked 11 and got 11 in.
